Begun this TRIP report has. New and Done Pg. 59

I just went back and read one of your earlier trip reports (from the Poly) in an evening - I think you guys are a hoot! Much better than what's on TV right now!! :rotfl:

We're hoping for a great big gathering in WDW in 2010, and DMIL wants to hit a water park. Sounds like you had a great start at Blizzard Beach. What a neat lady!! We just came back, and after two trips during the Year(s) of a Million (or more ) dreams, we didn't get one. :sad2: But I love reading about other people's! Keep it coming!

Here are Em’s Mickey bears.

Another day is done!!

I love these pins!!!! Plus, I enjoyed your update and pictures!!! Congrats on getting a dream. How cool is that? Can't wait to hear more about the water park fun.

Cathy

What a neat dream! While I was reading it I was thinking "that's not very Disney like of this cast member" and then it turned out to be VERY Disney-like! Hope you liked your water park day!!

What a great dream! I want to win just a dream, but alas, I won't be there until next year and they probably won't be doing dreams anymore. But, a dream is a wish your heart makes:rolleyes: right? :rotfl:

I thought the same thing for about 2 seconds, but then I noticed that she was smiling the whole time.:) Heck! I would have been tickled with just a free locker rental, but I was more than pleasantly surprised with the mugs....because there was no-way that I was going to buy those mugs BUT they sure came in handy around lunch time!!

What an awesome surprise with the locker! Wonderful Disney moment!

I feel the same way about waterparks but have promised my daughter I'd try one of the Disney parks one of these days - they really do sound great. Can't wait to read your review. :goodvibes

Just catching up and wow Lynn so many updates :goodvibes

I love Em's pins they're so cute and wow how fantastic to get a dream at BB :yay: I hope you liked it, one of our favourite rides in the whole of WDW is Teamboat springs :thumbsup2

What an awesome surprise!!!:cool1:

We thought so too!

Okay, Lynn and Chuck, I totally just got all teary-eyed reading about your dream! That was so sweet of her!!! (I couldn't tell while reading if she was mad at you or not)!

YOU GOT A DREAM!!!

Also, I just have to say, Lynn, that I felt the same way you did about water parks before going to Typhoon Lagoon! I hope your mind was changed like mine was!

She really had me fooled! I'm a pretty easy target, though.
It was a pretty cool dream. I hadn't heard of that one before!
And......it wasn't our only Dream that day.....

Cool surprise! Can't wait to hear more about your first trip to a water park! :)
We haven't been either!

You should go! I was reluctant, but I did have fun.

How nice that you got a dream! What a cool way to do it too. :goodvibes

I am not a huge fan of water parks either but I am so tempted by the cool Disney ones, perhaps you can persuade me to try one with your review. :thumbsup2

I'm glad I gave it a try! We had a good time and are definitely planning to go again next summer, maybe to both water parks!!!:cool1:

Thanks for reading our report! I loved the Poly trip. It felt so once in a lifetime, you know?

Sorry you didn't get any dreams, but going to WDW is a dream in itself, right?:)

A Grand Gathering would be so fun! I wish we could get my brother and his family to go with us. Now that would be a trip report!!!

I think there are three more in that series. Em loves those Mickey bears!

I was thinking that myself, but it was all part of the game. She was a cool castmember.

What a great dream! I want to win just a dream, but alas, I won't be there until next year and they probably won't be doing dreams anymore. But, a dream is a wish your heart makes:rolleyes: right? :rotfl:

Sorry! You're going back, though, right? Maybe during the summer, so we could run into each other.........;)

We are on a roll now!! In fact, another update is on the way!!!

Day Six Part two

After we stowed our stuff in our Dream locker, we headed up to our first stop on the Mom tour, Teamboat Springs. This is one of their favorites, the one they always tell me about when they come back. It is a raft ride for six passengers, down a long twisty, turning slide. Fast. I’m not good with heights, I’m not good with turns and I’m not good with Fast. This is gonna be a cake walk. Speaking of walking, how about that hike to the top of the stairs.
First of all, it is a long climb up the stairs. There is a chair lift, but I mentioned the not good with heights thing so that was out. To show you how high, you know Summit Plummet, the ride you can see from other parks? It’s just a little lower than that. My thighs were burning when we reached the top. There wasn’t much of a line so I hoped we’d get a raft to ourselves in case I cried or passed out or something equally embarrassing. No, they loaded us into a raft with young couple.

The biggest Lesson Lynn learned at Blizzard beach: Don’t wear a Tankini.

There is no graceful, ladylike way to get into that raft or sit in that raft. NO ONE should sit Indian Style in a bathing suit. NO ONE.

I did the best I could and prepared myself for the worst.

My loving husband captures the moment for posterity. You know, I do what I can.

FH000024.jpg

Okay maybe it wasn’t that bad.

Also, there is no graceful, ladylike way to get out of that raft. Basically, you kick your legs into the air and toss yourself over. Ladies in bathing suits should not be kicking their legs into the air.
But I managed to get out and the Dream team was waiting for us, with Dream ears for everyone! Special Dream Ears….we already had ones for the 2007 and 2008 YOMD, but these were different. Yeah! I don’t know why I didn’t take a picture.

Chuck went to stow our Dream ears in our Dream locker Jamaican lady was very impressed and I rode it again with the children. I opened my eyes this time.

FH000021.jpg

I got to sit unladylike and flash people more I didn’t know. Luckily it’s WDW and I’ll never see those people again.

The Dream Team was still there when we got off. Jake said we shouldn’t take more ears, but the Dream Team guy said "you won 'em, you take ‘em." Chuck was able to spread a lot of joy with those ears at his job. Some people may think that it is just be ‘nice’ to bring back a piece of the magic,,,but we know better! It is all part of evil, diabolical scheme to draw more people into that which is Disney!!

The children wanted to show me the slides so they decided to do Tobaggan racers where you can compete to see who comes down the fastest. I decided to sit in the shade and compose myself.

FH000010.jpg

Chuck won. Yeah! That’s right!! In your face!!! Don’t think I’ll hold back against some kids!!! Of course, in truth I owe it all to my Gianormus man belly and the extra weight that gave me that little extra edge…..I’m goin’ for the gold baby!! Mark Spitz, watch out!!!!

After several turns on the slides, it was time for what sounded the best to me, the Lazy River, properly known as Cross Country Creek. We prefer to call it the lazy river.

It has several entrance points where you just grab a floaty ring and float along. This is my kind of water park action. But again, there is no ladylike way to get into the tube. Everyone else was in and I was having trouble. What happened next is a blur. Chuck held the tube, I hopped up and the bottom of my bathing suit did not. Good thing there was no one behind me…….except Jake. He screamed and paddled away, yelling,”I’m blind! I’m blind!” Ahh, nothing like drawing attention away from a ‘wardrobe malfunction’ like the piercing (and some may say girl like) screams from a teenaged boy suffering the onset of hysterical blindness…..Yep, I bet those are going to come out in therapy years from now! Then again, knowing us, this probably won’t be the only ‘issue’ that will be brought up on a therapist’ couch

Thanks goodness, the camera was put away.

I’m sure I scarred him for life. At least he says so.

It was my day for trauma, I guess. And Jake’s.

We did have fun.

FH000016.jpg

Jake got his revenge later.

Here it is, photographic evidence of my son trying to drown me.

FH000017.jpg

About halfway around, we saw another thing the children say is a must see, the Sneezing House. As you pass by, the house sneezes and cold water spurts from the chimney. Cute!!

FH000011.jpg

It was almost time for lunch, but we decided to hit the wave pool. I adopted a much more ladylike position there.

FH000008.jpg

It was fun, until we noticed a bunch of CMs with nets near the shore and one CM with rubber gloves looking for something in the water. I didn’t want to know what and none of us wanted to be swimming in it, whatever it was. Out of there and off to lunch where we got the chance to use our new supper cool mugs!!! Thanks again Jamaican Lady!!

We had hotdogs at the Lottawatta Lounge and used our dream mugs, which hold quite a lot. You can even bring them back and get a sticker for $6.50 and use them again next time. Blizzard beach allows coolers, so I may try that next summer to save money.

Yeah, it wasn’t that bad. I’ll go back next summer. But I’m getting a different bathing suit!!

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:
I hate to admit that I laughed at your wardrobe malfunction but when I got to the part about Jake yelling, "I'm blind! I'm blind!" I just couldn't help myself. So funny.
I think a new bathing suit is a must for next year! ;)

:lmao: :rotfl:  :lmao: :rotfl:  :lmao: :rotfl:  :lmao:

I think that may be the best update. EVER. Sorry it came at your expense, Lynn. But I am sitting here snorting/choking on my diet coke and it's all your fault!! ;)

Way to be supportive, Chuck! :thumbsup2

Interesting. The gianormus man belly. I'm not sure that was properly recognized as a competitive advantage in the summer olympics! ;)

Hysterical blindness! :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

We did have fun.

That's what it's all about! :goodvibes

You all are a HOOT! A HOOTY HOOT HOOT!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I have to say the girly scream coming from your son made me laugh right out loud. My DD 17 asked me what I was laughing at, so of course I had to spread your humiliation around. Too funny!
I too am afraid of heights. I can't even look at high things when they are on t.v. without getting sweaty palms.
And if ginormous (totally didn't spell that right) man belly is what it takes to win, then my ginormous lady butt will definately slow me down. I won't race you then.
We plan on going June 16-22, 2009. I'm hoping to get my room reserved next month. I wanted to stay for 10 days, but we are going to try another trip to Hawaii next year too. (DH got bit by a shark last year, and so we have some unfinished business over there) So, then it was down to 8 and now 5 full days. I won't go less than 5. I would love to meet some people from the DIS, my problem is is that there are SO many people that you would be there and I wouldn't recognize anyone. I'm decorating my window this time though!

Don't worry about seeing fellow Diser's! We have been spotted in the parks twice (non-mousefest visits) by fellow Dis'rs, and twice by two different travel agents that we have used.....It is quite interesting to meet people at the spur of the moment that you have only dealt with on-line.....that's why we like to travel down for mouse fest, so we can be amongst our fellow Disney Freaks!

Looking at your june time frame we may be there at the same time, unless the work decided to place me on yet another shift.....and we ain't above saying :"Hey! To another Dis'r

Sorry about your bathing suit issues Lynn! Totally something I could see happening to me. Thanks for the warning! :rotfl:

Blizzard Beach does sound like a fun place though. Hopefully we will try it in the spring - it has to be really hot for me to go to a water park!

Oh, and I forgot to ask, it looks like you guys were wearing some type of water shoe? I thought I had read that you weren't allowed to wear them at the water parks?

Where we not? I hadn't read that anywhere and no one said anything to us. That cement tears up the children's feet and it gets so hot!!! I guess I'd better look into it before next year! Maybe we can get a doctor's note. :lmao:

I'm so glad y'all are getting a kick out of my bathing suit mishap! I was laughing harder than anyone.

I hope I didn't do any permenant damage to Jake's psyche....or his eyes!

:lmao: All I could think when I read that he was enduring hysterical blindness was, "It burns! It burns!" :rotfl2:
If you can't laugh at yourself, then I think you don't have a very good sense of humor. I have some less than stellar pictures of me coming up on my TR.
