I have scrapped through the years but stopped several years ago because I had three kids in high school and went back to work part time. Now two are off at college and the third is a senior when I went to dig up pics for her senior yearbook page I got nostalgic and decided it is time to get back to scrapping all the old photos.

So I have spent the past week and half looking through old posts and trying to figure out what is new to the scrapbook world. I have decided I probably would not want to digital scrap I am to old school about technology but thought maybe I liked the concept of the Project Life albums but with designing my own journaling cards and inserts.

My next step was to visit Michaels, AC Moore and Hobby Lobby to see what supplies they carried. They carried a very limited selection of the different size page protectors from WRMK. Where are people buying these pages?

I would love any tips you guys have on getting started again and new products for people who are so behind and feel overwhelmed.

I know I buy my page protectors on line...
I have gotten a lot of good "lot" deals on ebay...

There are so many new things out there.. it kind of depends on what you have in mind..
The cricut is good...but will only cut their cartridges, or their craft room... out of pocket can get deep..
There is a cameo and silhoutte that will cut SVG files and true type fonts (some of the other gals will have to come on and explain those as I'm not tech savvy nor do I have either machine)...

Is there anything you have in mind.. I might be able to point you in the right direction or any of the other members can..

:welcome: to our cozy little corner!

I actually have a cricut with some basic cartridges, mainly fonts. It just seems like our brick and mortar stores don't carry a nice supply like they used to and I wasn't sure where people were getting their supplies.

I have only Joann's here for a store, my walmart reset a year ago and it's AWFUL. So I tend to get most of my stuff from CKC shows (my "local" one is manchester NH). I will also use Creative Memories and Stampin Up for paper.

I also have to go either to Burlington or Concord to get to a Micheals so those trips are few and far between.

Hopefully you'll find something. If not I'd say start ordering online. Good luck

Mostly I use JoAnns but I've also used scrapbuck.com and the ek succes site.
seems like there was another one but it's not in my fav's.

Looks like they are having a CKC in Charlotte NC next year in Aug. Nashville I don't see on the list.

My favorite Paper is from the Paper Loft I've never had to order from them online but LOVE the paper and the owners

Yes, the online stores are your better option.... Our brick and mortar are pitiful too... Sometimes you have to hunt and find sales... for the stores...

I like to shop online at:
scrapyourtrip.com (they have a lot of everything)
the online stores I can sometimes find better option than in store.. (Jo's, H.L)

some I believe have used ACM and Archivers for paper... (we have no ACM around here; and any time we are near Archivers we are at a sporting event)..

I know there are a few others but can't think of them right now...

I am also trying to get back into the scrapbooking mood. I just digged my rubberstamps, ink pads, cricut, sizzix, paper, etc out of storage after 3 years. I'm happy I found this board to give me some inspiration and motivation. I'll have to check out some of the websites suggested on this thread. I love the layout challenges I saw too!

I would invest in a cricut machine. Im going to buy myself one as my 'christmas present'. I would suggest checking out scrapbook.com for scrapbooking supplies. they have a lot to choose from and you can search by theme :)

Kindof of topic, but I am curious about albums. I haven't scrapped in a while & need a new album to re-start. My last albums were creative memories & had "pages". I no longer see them available.... every album I see in stores is just page protectors & just don't seem the same quality. I assume I must be missing something, but what? Help! TIA

What size album are you looking for? Creative Memories still offers 8x8 and 12x12 albums that you can buy pages and protectors separately for. I only use Creative Memories albums so I can't answer to the qualilty of others.

I second Kiwi's suggestion for scrapbook.com After I signed up, the owner sent me a "welcome" email - granted it's a form letter, probably auto generated, but after less than stellar experiences with some others, it was pleasing, all the same. THEN what I ordered came in 3 days! Stunned.

I scrap "chapter heading pages" with divided pages in between and usually stock up when I get to visit an LSS. Have also ordered on line - I like the We are Memory Keepers but have also bought other brands. Twopeasinabucket.com carries them as does scrapbook.com

I love Paperwishes.com They are a mom and daughter team and send you a real paper catalog in the mail, that I just love, as well as regular emails!! They have regular sales and discounts occasionally, and my husband even finds things in their catalog to use for making his fishing lures! Lots of new ideas too, Aloha, Karen:hug:
