Just wanted to vent at my planning frustration at Disney and apologize to you all for blocking so many dining availabilities from 01 Sep-09Sep.

Venting because MK has how may 7pm closings ?????.... Sure they can add a party here or there later or extend the hours later, but due to Disney's 180 ADR rules etc.. I basically needed to know 3 days ago when and where we are eating as we many character meals.

So what did I do?? well we have 8 dining credits TS, I think we have 20 TS ressies?? why.. CAUSE AT THIS MOMENT I CANNOT TELL WHICH PARK WE WILL BE AT ON ANY GIVEN DAY... as we are still Holding out that either on the 4th or 7th there is a party or hours get extended..

Frustrated that if they dont add a party or extend,, we just might be pushed to upgrade to park hoppers to maximize park hours; adding another 400 to our price.

I am flexible and try not to make plans in stone, but 3 7pm closings in our week long trip is a bit much.

I just hope, hope I have more infos before our FP reservation times are up. Making ADRS was exhausting enough not knowing....

The 7pm MK closings mean that there's a party that night. Can't tell if you know that.

Have you looked at easywdw.com for good ideas on suggested parks, as something of a guide?

The OP is talking about the first few days of September, and there aren't parties those nights, despite the park showing a 7pm close. It's been very discussed lately since the release of the official MNSSHP dates, and there's been a lot of speculation that closer to the actual dates those MK hours will be extended, or possibly parties will be added. Right now no one knows what's going on. The first party is scheduled for Sept. 15.

Yup, that's the point, no one knows what is going on... !!!!

Example.. September 4th and 7th, MK has a 7pm close..

we could also just say let's make those 7pm closings a EP day, but EP has EMHs on other days and we want to do Ohana... so do we book a 7:30 ADR assuming MK will be closed at 7pm or if they extend we keep our 7pm. miss MSEP and watch Wishes from afar or cancel

and maybe, just maybe there is a Halloween party we prefer thefore, cancel Ohana for the party and therefore give Ohana up ( one of our favorites) because there is no way to get an ADR at a later date or or at least a do-able time/date later.

And to top if off, the above is 3 days of our trip.. I could live with one unknown day.. but 3!!

Seeing I have to plan now based on the "disney" way.

My friends are going during that time too and I am helping them plan their trip as this is their first time going. Josh published this on his website (Easywdw) yesterday

The September crowd calendar is going on three weeks late now. The problem is the operating schedule. Magic Kingdom is still slated to close at 7pm on September 1st, 4th, and 7th even though Disney’s “officially” released dates for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party do not include these dates. According to Disney, the first Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is September 15th. I’ve talked with over two dozen people with knowledge of the situation and the prevailing opinion is Disney is trying to sell these dates to businesses/organizations for after-hours parties/buy outs. And if they can’t do that, they’ll announce that “due to guest feedback/popularity,” Mickey’s Halloween Party has been added to September 1st, 4th, and 7th. We are strictly in rumor territory with those last two sentences, but the bottom line is that we don’t have anything better to go on than expecting Magic Kingdom to close at 7pm on those three dates in question.

Hopefully a decision will be made soon for all of those who are trying to plan!

How many MK days are you planning? I'd recommend making one of the 7:00 closing days a MK day. Historically those days have low crowds and you can get an incredible amount done because of that. Then either have your character meal preopening or do a non park character meal like CM or 1900 Park Fare that evening. Or you could still do a dinner ADRin the park as long as it started before 7:00.

Mousefan, I feel your pain. We actually changed our trip dates due to this (which is a bummer, we had an awesome deal for Beach Club during that week :( ).

While I was hoping that they were going to add some sort of party to a night or two, I was more worried that they would just move the hours back to normal, which would have limited the number of recommended MK park days.

We were going to do one MNSSHP and two MK days (as minni mum mentioned, the day of a party are a great time to be in that particular park).

Gook luck with the planning and here's hoping they announce something soon.

I like this idea, but then again, I booked a similar after-close non-park meal at Boma for my last trip. When I was setting my park days and booking ADRs, it was scheduled to close at 5, but by the time the trip came they had extended to 7; I had a big group and couldn't find any interesting replacement ADR so we didn't get to enjoy those "bonus hours". I generally like the planning, but the moving target is very frustrating!

Feeling the same pain, we are in the same boat except we are going Sept 5-13th. Hoping something changes soon with the hours or gets announced so that we can plan accordingly

We'll be at WDW from Aug 30th to September 8th, so I feel your pain. My solution: Park hoppers and some counter service meals. We've never gotten hoppers before, so this will give us a chance to explore extra magic hours (which we've always avoided).

We will be there Sept 5th-14th and wondered the same things. We've planned around it so far, but may have to move things around based on possibly adding MNSSHP to the 7th. We purposely didn't schedule an ADR for that night just in case.

I am in the same situation. We are only going for a short trip from September 2-6. I was really hoping they would have a party on the 4th. I have several ADRs as well for this very reason.

Looks like the website changed the official hours beginnign of september... but BOG still listed as closing at 6pm for some reason.
