Before or after thanksgiving

I can't remember is it better to go the week before or after thanksgiving to the parks? When does Pop Warner start? Thanks for the info.

POP Warner starts the weekend of Dec. (like that Sat or Sun).
It is usually the first "full" week of Dec if I remember correct. If not it is the second week.

I think the week before and week directly after are pretty much the same.

The week before is really wonderful IMHO. Holiday decorations are in place, MVMCP has started, Osborne Lights is open. It just feels a bit less hectic to me, although the week after Thanksgiving is quite nice too. Since we are DVC members, we have found the week before much easier to book, so that makes it an easy decision too.

The week before. It starts getting really crowded the week after, all the way through NYE. But, it's still pretty crowded. Nice time to go though, the weather will be pleasant.

That's not exactly correct. The first 2 weeks of December have become progressively more crowded over the last couple of years, but it is still a fairly low crowd time to visit - crowds range from low to moderate during that time frame. The third week of December probably has the lowest crowds of the month. December 14 - 21 is actually a very good time to go - low crowds and low resort rates. The crazy Christmas crowds won't start rolling in until after December 21st. After that date they will grow to insane levels until about January 3rd.

As for the OP question, the week BEFORE Thanksgiving will have lower crowds and rates than the week after Thanksgiving.

In 2009 we went the wk before thanksgiving. Weather and crowds were great. I would definatly go back that time of yr. Most xmas deco was up and the park was beautiful and festive.

Week After...our family has gone 6 out of the last 8 years that week. Yes, the crowds are bigger now then they were 8 years ago. But the crowds are still low compared to most other weeks. We really feal that you get the true Christmas feeling then....everything XMAS is in full swing, the weather is usually very nice 70 each day (For the most part!) Have a great trip...

We went the week before thanksgiving and the crowds were low then starting the day before Thanksgiving it was a mad house.. We were glad to leave the day after Thanksgiving.
