Hello! Been awhile since I posted, but knew you guys would have some answers for me!
For Mother's Day, my DH's family has decided to celebrate with a banana split party. Fun for everyone except me- the lactose intolerant one! But, I would like to participate (i.e. EAT!!) so I looked at the non-dairy frozen goodies at the grocery store today.
Not much choice....one brand was made from organic rice milk (chocolate or butter pecan) @ $4.59/pint!! Ouch!! That's more than Ben & Jerry's!!!
Has anyone tried this? Is it decent- does it kinda taste like real ice cream?
The only other experience I have had was with Lactaid brand ice cream. It was awful. I drink Lactaid milk, but I thought the ice cream was gross. I have never tried rice milk or soy milk products.
If there are any brands to recommend, I'd appreciate it! I plan to go to Kroger later this week- they seem to have more variety for alternate diets. Thanks a bundle!
