Are there many if any bees and or wasps anywhere in the parks??? My DD5 just got stung and now she FREAKS OUT anytime she sees one. She also freaks when she sees a fly till I tell her it's just a fly. She cries uncontrolling and it is beginning to drive me crazy. It is difficult to sympathize after a while. I've already preparded her for the love bugs, just want to prepare her for them if they are there. Thanks.

Obviously, bees can be there, but seriously I don't remember seeing many. There will probably be love bugs, but they are soft (and don't bite) and I compared them to lightning bugs when my kids were smaller.

I don't remember seeing them there. I think Disney does a good job to keep them away. But there is always a possibility.

Weird last September when we were there we never saw bees, wasps or sea gulls trying to eat scraps.

I think Disney has their Magical ways of making them go away....LOL!

I am at WDW as we speak.

Considering the vastness of the world there are very few bees (and I have a DD similar to yours). The most bees I have seen are at Blizzard Beach and a few at Saratoga Springs resort. Otherwise, not much else.

I saw my first few love bugs today (we have been here a week).

There are plenty of small lizards and frogs here at Saratoga..

When we were there in August, we saw them at Epcot's world showcase. One of my son's is quite scared of them and he freaked out while we were eating as the bees wouldn't leave us alone.

We also saw them at the waterparks, especially around where you can get drink refills. However, Disney had some bee catchers up around there which seemed to keep them at a minimum.

Other than that, we rarely had bug issues.

I find Disney to be amazingly bug-free. In my many trips (mostly during the spring and summer seasons), I've only seen a couple of ants and dragonflies. I just spent a week in Miami getting absolutely eaten alive by mosquitoes, so I appreciate not having to worry about that here. Maybe bugs have an aversion to pixie dust??

1) Yes, there are a few bees and bugs at Disney.
2) Especially
. . . around flower beds
. . . near trash conatiners that hold cans from sweet drinks (eg. Coke)

I am *TERRIFIED* of bees/wasps/hornets, and I didn't see many at all. :)

(and yes, I'm a grown woman!! lol)

We did not see any the whole time we were there. My husband even had to carry his epi-pen around with him as he is allergic to their venom. He felt very comfortable there.

My DD13 is also afraid of bees (after being attacked by ground bees a few years ago) so we're pretty sensitive to them, too. I believe that the only place we saw them were at the Flame Tree BBQ eating area by the lake.

Yes, there are bees and wasps. I am allergic to bees, so I notice them. I see them the most at Epcot. I try not to sit on benches directly next to flowerbeds. I stay away from the rose garden.

At MK, you will see them, mainly, near the flowers around the hub and near Crystal Palace. Disney keeps the trash cans very clean, so I've not noticed many near the trash cans.

I see a lot of them at DTD. There are a lot of flower pots, beds, etc. at DTD. You will see bees around them. I was eating an ice cream one day at DTD and a bee landed on my ice cream. Needless to say, I was not happy! LOL!

Just be careful where you sit and you should have no problems.

I am deathly alergic and I have never felt fearful at WDW. The things I avoid are trashcans, all those sweet things getting thrown out does attract them. Also I don't use scented soaps and I wash my hair and blow dry it the night before so it does not smell as much.

I have also read that wearing black or really dark colors can attract them. The last time I was stung I was wearing black but I am not sure if that is why.

One of my children is very scared of any bug and the best advice I have is to check out some books in the library sometimes learning more about them makes them seem less scary.

In August 2009 my DS5 was stung while eating his ice cream outside Ghiradellis at DTD. There was a large planter of flowers near our table and the bee flew onto his ice cream covered hand and stung him. He freaked out! Luckily there was a customer service center RIGHT THERE and EMS came within minutes and took care of him, while calming him down.

There were quite a few bees while trying to wait in line at Blizzard Beach last time we were there (February). DS (9) had to leave the line, couldn't handle it at all. I can still picture him running down the stairs ahead of me to get away only to find more bees in a bunch of bushes at the bottom once he got down there......
