I am updating a list I have of beers around the world showcase and am wondering if anyone has seen a recent listing of them. I know the one I have is at least missing things from Germany, all it lists is Becks and I'm pretty sure we had Spaten there last year.

This would be either at CS locations or kiosks, not in the TS restaurants.

TIA!

Cynthia

They've always had Spaten there before, but I haven't been since last November. They did get rid of Harp at UK so anything is possible. :confused3

I have nothing to add -- but would you mind posting your list? I'd like to see it and I'm sure others would too.

I've never been too impressed by the beer selection at WS -- that's a real missed opportunity, IMO.

I was there in May, Germany had Spaaten then! It's my fav

Oh that's just WRONG! Seriously?

Another edit to make

When we were there in June, I'm almost positive all they offered was Becks at the kiosks.

:(

I agree! WDW in general is tough in my opinion and hard on PNW Hop heads like my DH and I

here is what I have so far

Oh I hope it's still there and someone posts a more recent Spaaten sighting! (or drinking!)

Thanks for the list.

One more beer, but probably not for your map since it's not in WS. They have Wolaver's organic beer at the Garden Grill in The Land.

I've done Beers Around the World 10 years running. My last visit was Spring 2009 (next trip is a month away). After looking at your map, here's what I've noticed:

Mexico: Offers Tecate as well as Dos Equis.

Norway: Carlsberg (Denmark) purchased the Ringes brand a few years back. They no longer export Ringes outside of Norway. As a result, the Norwegian pavilion has offered Carlsberg on tap ever since.

China: For some uknown reason, the Chinese pavilion now offers Yuengling (Pennsylvania) along with Tsing Tao. Just because Yuengling LOOKS like it could be a Chinese name seems like an odd reason to offer a domestic beer at this pavilion. I know they have a brewery in Florida (I believe in/near Tampa), so perhaps that's a reason WDW is carrying the beer, but unless it's a huge seller over in China (which I don't believe it is), color me confused on this one. Still, it's a damn good beer.

African Outpost: They've been selling an Amber beer here the past few years (I believe it's from one of the domestic breweries). Can't remember the name, but I think it's something like Safari Amber.

Germany: Becks, Spaten Optimator (and sometimes Spaten Oktoberfest), Lowenbrau, Franziskaner. All go good with a brat & sauerkraut.

Italy: looks good

USA: looks good

Japan: looks good (still waiting for them to add Sapporo)

Morocco: Casa Blanca & Bud Light

France: looks good

UK: Other than what you've listed, the UK also offers Boddington's (Manchester, England) and Stella Artois (Belgium) on tap. Even though Stella is a Belgian beer, it's one of the top sellers in the UK, hence the inclusion.

Canada: looks good

Allears.net has posted that there is a beer cart in Norway that serves Carlsberg.

I was also wondering if you can only get Strongbow Cider at the pub in UK or is it also at the CS?

Safari Amber is the Anheuser-Busch product sold at Animal Kingdom, and I guess at the Outpost. I believe it's made for Disney, although odds are it's one of their other mediocre brews with a different label.

You are the best!

Bud light in Morroco :confused3 ITA on the Yuengling, one of the best beers available at WDW and seems to have some decent distribution.

It is called African Amber, we had it at Yak and Yeti Local Foods last year, GREAT to know they have it at the outpost! Probably our favorite beer of the trip other than the very nice tap selection at the WL pool . :rotfl:

Now if we could just get the American Pavillion to simply copy the WL lovely NW offerings, and add in an IPA...all would be well. Oh well.

Good question on the Cider!

Well if it is, it's better than any Busch product I've ever had. Which granted, hasn't been much...in years! :rotfl:

At MK there is no beer,
That's why we drink it here,
And when we hop out of here,
All our friends will be drinking Epcot beer.

if you use the available menus on the WDW webiste you might get a more comprehensive listing ... the rose & crown pub menu, for example, lists everything including beer and whiskey.

I know they serve Boddingtons at Rose & Crown but didn't see it on your list, and Spaten is available at Germany but not usually at the pretzel kiosk - you have to go back to the counter service area.

I find that the menus are inconsistent. Some list drinks, others don't. Trying to stick to what is available at CS and Kiosks, not any TS locations.

Oasispaul provided some great updates, I have an updated version I'll post soon.

thanks everyone! Let me know if I missed anything (other than the deliberate omission of bud light in Morroco). Still sad about Harp.

I was also wondering if you can only get Strongbow Cider at the pub in UK or is it also at the CS?

Yes - you can get Strongbow on draft at the Rose & Crown - forgot about that - 2 in our party had Strongbow last year. Not sure if you can get it at the Counter Service spot next to the R&C, though...

No problem! I always enjoy discussing Beers Around the World with other club members! And yes, the American Pavilion needs to step up when it comes to their beer offerings. They're not exactly helping the perception (read: misconception) of the quality of beer in America!

This is why I like to go during F&W - the choices increase exponentially!

I argued with the bartender at Yak & Yeti who said this was unique to WDW but I have heard in the past it is nothing more than Michelob Amber Bock renamed.
