As I grow older, I am starting really like the micro brews. I am now seeking out the micro brewerys that have a bar to sample their goods. I have even started planning camping trips that are based close to a brewery... is that so wrong?

If loving beer is wrong,,,, I don't wanna be right. :thumbsup2
Actually I am not much of a beer drinker. We've only been to 1 micro, Abita in La. I have to say it was pretty good. What ones have you been to?

Mostly around Michigan... but one in Florida.

Bells (Kalamazoo, MI), Michigan Brewing Company (Webberville, MI), Marquette Harbor Brewery (Marquette, MI), Manistee Brewing Company, (Manistee, MI), Great Lakes Brewing Co. (Cleveland, OH), Hofbräuhaus (Kansas City, MO) . . . a few more around Michigan... oh and Orlando Brewing Co.

beer,,juice inna bottle that makes everyone look better closer to closing time.

Welcome to my world! My DH is a homebrewer and we often plan getaways based on touring micro breweries! My favorite so far is New Glarus in WI. Mmmmmm Mmmmmm!!

Sents you will be at the Fort take a bus or drive to Disney's Boardwalk hotel there is a mico-brewery called Big River. I make it a point to have a beer or 6 eveytime i'm at Disney.

I to love to make BEER and to taste the crafts of others! We have a place in Western North Carolina and found a thing in Asheville NC called the Brews crews. Its a van that takes you around to 4-5 Micro breweries in the Asheville area and you talk with and sample the wares of the areas beers. Asheville is now Americas leading city when it comes to Micro-Breweries! Its pretty cool because you talk and drink beer with the guys who brew and create the product you are sampling

I am there with you. I too am a home brewer and still have not been to there ether.

Regarding Big River here's my 2 cents... if you are a craft beer afficionando with a liking for quality craft beers (be it local or bottled) you will be disappointed with Big River. The beers there are pretty standard (read: boring) and meant to be palatable for mainstream beer drinkers. They have a pale ale, an amber ale, a lager, a pilsner, a brown and a wheat. I tried the Pale, the Amber, and the wheat. They were all pretty vanilla without much hop character.

Big River is a franchise that is owned by the same company that owns Rock Bottom Brewery (among other brewpub/restaurants) and I have the same opinion of their beers. As a matter of fact they could potentials be the exact same beer recipes.

For my money I'd rather track down a dogfish head 60 minute IPA, a Le Fin du Monde at the Canada pavilion or even a Widmer Bros. Drifter Ale (it was available at the pool bar of Pop)!

Here's a thread that lists where to find the better beers at the World.

Couldn't agree more. If you're just getting into craft/micro brews, then Big River isn't too bad. But really WDW can be problematic for a beer geek like me.

Thankfully since I stay at the fort, I always bing a couple decent cases down with me! I love sitting out under the awning drinking a few beers during the afternoon break, or after a day in the parks
