HI Do not have the answer to your question but come on over and say hi to us at the crusie meet thread for the Halloween Cruise..We would love to meet you and your family!!!!!!Kristin

I believe people have posted that they had them this summer so I would think they still do now...

For reason of perspective I placed the mug we got next to a "tall" sized Starbuck's iced coffee drink...

Yes, they still have the mugs. Refills are a little less :rotfl2: My husband figured he had to drink about 20 to get his money out of it. :lmao:

The beer mugs still exist and are a great deal if you are a beer drinker. 20 beers is way above the break even point.

Each mug is 22 oz and costs $12.00. You get it full the first time. Regular beer costs Between $4.00 and $4.50 a glass and the glass is 16 oz. The refill mug is $3.75 and nets you 6 more ounces a glass. Every 2.5 mugs equals a free beer and the refills are cheaper!

The last night of the cruise you can trade a dirty mug for a clean one to take home.

Tstan65 is correct....the "20" is WAY above what is needed to break even. You also have to consider the mug your getting is a nice mug and makes a great souviner. IMO it's worth the $12 on it's own...even without the discounted/cheeper beer refills. I don't know about the exact prices of the refills (it's been awhile) vs beer w/o the mug but as listed above....you can see it would be .25-.75 cheeper for the refill PLUS you get 6oz MORE. 22oz for less than the price of a 16oz beer. :thumbsup2 that a deal in it's own.

I purchased mine on the Wonder last month. At that time, the $12 did not include the price of the beer, it was in addition. Also, the refills were the same price as a 16 oz. beer, the only bonus being that you got 22 oz. instead.

I got mine last year and I'll get another this year, made my moneys worth back in less that an whour, our, umm..hour, Oh you no,imean know what I mean :drinking1 :drinking1 :rotfl2:

Hmmm...?? You haven't been sipping from that frozen beer mug this early in the day have you??? :rotfl:

Yep....like I said it's been quite a while since we got ours..I too remember the refills being the SAME price as the 16 oz...only perk was you got 22oz for the 16oz price. I was just didn't know if it'd change since our last cruise. BUT you did (we did) get ONE FREE fill when you purchased the mug. :thumbsup2

Thank you all for the great replies. We'll go ahead and pack the mugs. We are 8 adults no kids so we will for sure be drinking a few beers. We are using Happy Limo and they do allow a stop. I'm thinking we should ask them to stop and we can pick up a case before we board. I feel kinda bad but DCL must not mind because I read about people doing it.
Thanks

Does anybody know if you you can use the same mug on a second cruise? I normally would have DH get a new one but we are going on back-to-back cruises next year and if he could use the same mug for the whole time that would be great. Of course if has to get a second one then we'll just have 2 nice mugs as souvenirs.

I don't think there's anyway they can tell.

Yes...Yes...Yes...Some people will even bring their mug back year after year.

Matter of fact...we brought our back for our second cruise (first cruise was a year earler). BUT the main reason we brought it back was becasue we ended up with a ESPN Skybox mug...and NOT a DCL mug. As it was when we were on the Magic...they didn't even have the Skybox anymore....and DH isn't a big sports freak... We ment to change it before we left but we forgot and packed it up...of course we did remember (on the plane) :confused3 ... So for the next cruise we packed it up...and changed it then. We did end up getting a second one so we'd have two souviner mugs.

Anyhow short answere...is YES :thumbsup2 You can use the same mug cruise after cruise.

The exact same thing happened to me! I got a skybox glass last Feb. I should pack it and exchange it.

Thanks for the quick replies! We often travel with another family and they will be joining us for our second week on the Magic. Last year in WDW the moms and daughters had tea at the Grand Floridian. Not to be outdone the two hubbies went off to have "tea" ;) at the UK in EPCOT. I think they had some German "tea" as well. I think they'll have lots of fun with their beer mugs...er...I mean "tea cups" on the Magic.

I got a mug on our Feb '05 cruise. I thought is was a good deal. I don't think I will pack it for the Jul '07 Mediterranean cruise though.

While on the last cruise, I thought it was a real pain to have to carry around the mug. I thought "why don't they offer a mug check program?"

This my plan, they could print a couple hundred KTTW type cards that say "BEER MUG" on them. When you buy and mug and finish your beer, you can take to any bar and turn it in for a KTTB (Key To The Beer!) card. Then when you want a malty beverage, you go to your nearest malty beverage location, hand the KTTB card over and Bingo, you get a frothy brew in a fresh, clean mug. Finish your beverage, hand over the mug and receive a KTTB card. No mugs to carry around. How simple is that?

I bet they would sell more mugs if they implemented something like this. I've heard many people say they would like the mug, but didn't like the idea of having to carry them around.

I wish I knew how to send this idea to DCL. Sure would be easy to implement and would provide a great service to customers.

DCL beer drinkers unite - tell them we want our KTTB cards!

:drinking1

I think they should sell a mug holster. It would be easy to have at hand, and another wonderful chance to fleece the masses. :drinking1 :drinking1 :jumping1:

I think the best deal of all is buy the nice DCL mug and fill it with the beer you brought with you on the cruise! :drinking1 Fill it with your ice cold beer that you purchased at the grocery store on the way onboard. You'll have a great look on the boat, save lots of $$$ drinking cheaper but just as good beer, and then you have a great souvenir when you get back home. :thumbsup2

That's what my DH does! :woohoo:
