Do they sell beer/liquor in the grocery stores so we can get it on the grocery stop while in the limo or does there have to be a special store?

I've read that some stores a walk-able from DTD-do they sell beer and is it feasible to get groceries there mid-vacation vs. the other grocery options?

I don't remember specifically about liquor, but beer and wine are sold in FL gorcery stores, even cold. You will also be able to get beer and wine in the fridge section of BCV, BWV and VWL (Roaring Forks?). I can only assume the other DVC properties have this option as well.

The Goodings at the Crossroads does have beer and wine, but not liquor. At least this was the case last summer.

There is an Albertson's right off the toll road Orange Blossom Trail and it has a large package store connected to it (separate entrance) we had a rental car but we did stop here on the way from MCO.

This place is developing quite a DVC following. We stop there every trip (mainly because, when you're on vacation, every cup of coffee deserves a little Irish cream). :drinking1

Grocery stores can sell only beer and wine. For hard stuff, you need go to a liquor store. Also, neither type of store can sell before noon on Sundays.

Yes and I like my spritzers! LOL

Just to clarify, Albertson's on OBT is a grocery store, but they have a Liquor store attached that sells a more "spirited" selection. So you can purchase alcohol there.

I know that Sams club has a liquor store attatched to it, and I believe that there is a place real close by that I stopped at and I believe it is called ABC liquor store. Its probably like 5 mins away. Sorry I cant remember the streets.

The general stores at the DVC resorts also sell liquor.

I'm sure it's more expensive than a liquor store, but if you don't want to venture out, it's very convenient.

connie254 - the grocery store "walkable" from DTD that you heard about it probably Goodings at the Crossroads shopping center. While it is technically walking distance, I would not want to walk back carrying groceries. In addition to that, it is extremely expensive. If you do have a car with you, stop at one of the stores on the way to the hotel. Or if you are using a towncar service, they will allow a half hour grocery stop. I also use Albertson's off Orange Blossom Trail, and if I need something more during the trip, I usually go to the Winn Dixie near Crossroads (turn left at the light and go about a mile instead of straight across to Crossroads). It also has an ABC liquor store right by it. PLUG for Albertson's - you can fax your order a day ahead and they will have it ready when you arrive. Very handy!

I would ask the driver to stop. The alcohol at WDW is extremely expensive.
