In two weeks we are actually going to be talking ahout the Orlando Beer Festival on IOACentral Radio. Then, hopefully, we'll have a live show from the Beer Fest. I hope to have more info on the beer fest myself, I've never been, and dont know if you get free beer or if you have to pay for it also.....
But we will have brewers on the show, so we're bound to give some more info.

We went to the beer festival in 2004, Included in your ticket price is a cup (I think it is 4 ounces) and you can go to each stand as many times as you want. You get a lanyard with a pouch to put your ticket and license in for the free samples. the more popular booths get crowded very quickly. But all in all it was a good time.

I remember being on the designated driver program and received a soda cup for free refills.

For those interested in Beerfest, IOACentral Radio will have next weeks show devoted to Beer Fest, and we will have extra special guest Jim Cook. If you dont know Jim Cook, you dont know beer.

This from the media site:
The 8th Orlando Beer Festival Returns to Universal CityWalk WITH MORE THAN 120 BEERS AVAILABLE FOR SAMPLING

Guests Can Enjoy the Largest Beer Festival in Florida in Style with a V.I.P. Upgrade

Orlando, Fla. – The largest beer festival in Florida returns to Universal CityWalk in Orlando on November 11 and 12 with more than 120 beers from brewers across the nation. Guests at the 8th Annual Beer Festival will enjoy samples of a variety of beers, live entertainment and a plethora of dining options. V.I.P. upgrade tickets are available for purchase in addition to festival admission, and the upgrade option includes complimentary food and exclusive access to V.I.P. rooms for sampling.

The 8th Annual Orlando Beer Festival will also feature a variety of dining offerings including the Smokehouse Grill, which will feature classic grilled favorites such as cheeseburgers, turkey legs and pulled pork sandwiches. All-new to this year’s beer festival, the restaurants of CityWalk will set up tents on the CityWalk promenade to sell some of their most popular dishes. Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., NASCAR Café, NBA City, Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, Latin Quarter, Bob Marley’s – A Tribute to Freedom and Pat O’ Brien’s will all be offering food to provide Beer Fest patrons the chance to experience “A Taste of CityWalk.”

The wide variety of beers offered at the Orlando Beer Festival is what makes the festival such a unique event. In addition to the nationally-known beer brands, Polish imports, malts, seasonal ales and ciders are all available for sampling. Beer aficionados can experience a wide range of craft brews, both heavy and light, that are usually only distributed in Northern regions of the United States. The Flying Dog Brewery, a first-time festival participant, is bringing its Tire Bite Golden Ale and Gonzo Imperial Porter all the way from Denver, Co.

The V.I.P. upgrade option includes a complimentary all-you-can-eat buffet in each exclusive V.I.P. area, and guests will receive 4 oz. beer samples, as opposed to the 2 oz. samples that are typically served at the festival.

The festival takes place on Saturday, November 11 from 2pm-7pm, and Sunday, November 12 from 1pm-7pm at Universal CityWalk. Tickets for Saturday’s event are $30.95 when purchased in advance and $37.95 on the day of the event. Tickets for Sunday are $22.95 in advance and $29.95 day-of. The V.I.P. upgrade option, which includes access to the private food and beverage areas of the event, costs $25 and may be purchased in an addition to the Beer Fest ticket price. Tickets for the event can be purchased at www.orlandobeerfestival.com or by calling Universal CityWalk Guest Services (407) 224-2691. The tickets are also available through Ticketmaster at http://www.ticketmaster.com/venue/106737.

And join IOACentral Radio as we broadcast live from Beerfest!!!

I recommend the vip tickets. they are the best. I am not sure how limited they are but I do think they are. We had a blast using the vip and are going to use them again this year on the 12th. Just look for two pooh sized women having lots of fun and that will be us.

If you are undecided about Orlando BeerFest this weekend, check out this weeks episode of IOACentral Radio. We talk to brewers, bartenders, and heck we even talk about why some of you guys have hang ups about people drinking in the parks. Always fun.

If you are in Orlando today check out Beerfest today from 1-6. Some highlights, all of which you'll be able to hear about on IOACentral Radio this week (myspace.com/ioacentralradio) was the Green Mountain Brewery makers of Woodchuck Cider. Flying Dog makers of a lot of good beer, ask Pete about Hunter S. Thompson. And Stawski Distributing, makers of the Best of the Fest last year, and with Ocim Polones probably this year as well. :thumbsup2
On a side note, while people were drinking, they were well behaved. I didnt see or hear of any problems. We went to Epcot afterwards for some Food and Wine action, and we did see some folks on the way out falling over, one guy trying to hit people as he was helped up, and the lady he was with felt compelled to lift her top. Good times, but something disney folk say they see at Universal...... :confused3

If you didnt go to Beerfest, you missed a great event. But you can do the next best thing and listen to IOACentral Radio this week. We were at the Orlando Beer Festival, and we had a blast. Listen as we have a good time and learn some stuff about the different beers. You can also check out all kinds of cool pictures from Beerfest.
