Beer Drinking Question

:thumbsup2

I know, I know, I'm just way to sensitive! I can't wait to go down and have an ice cold yard after a long, full day in the parks!

Sorry I was staring but I after I saw the yard I glazed over and starting thinking about getting a yard of black and tan. :drinking1

Definitely stares of envy :sunny: --DH has bought the half-yard a few times and the only looks he gets are from people wishin' they had the same glass! I always get champagne at the kiosk in France, and have had several people over the years ask me where I bought it (especially during the Food and Wine Fest!).

Enjoy the looks--Epcot is a happy place (and I'm so happy you can walk around with adult beverages these days! DH and I remember, about 15 years ago, being stopped by a castmember as we tried to leave the Mexico counter service with beer--they didn't allow people to walk around with it in those bad old days! :goodvibes ).

Who knows.

I wonder the same thing when I walk around drinking from a bottle of wine. Some people can be so rude! ;)

When i see the yard- i am just thinking MOMMA MIA THATS THINGS HUGE! thats why I'M staring!

and dont feel bad- the last dec DH and i took our 4yr old niece- everytime i go to EPCOT i HAVE to stop and get a Kir Royale in France- i felt like an "unfit parent" making DH push DN in her stroller while i drinking away! :rotfl:

oh- and how about at the Norway Princess breakfast asking for a mimosa...and another......people are probably saying-- hey theres that poor kid from last night with the mom who has the champagne "problem" :lmao:

WHO CARES!

Here's a photo I took of my BIL showing DW how to drink out of the yard as my 2 DD, DS,niece(in pink) and sister watch. My beer was already gone as I was almost to the next Country. :thumbsup2 We didn't care who looked on.

Oh my does that look good!

I've never managed to notice them before. How many different types of beer can you get it filled with?

Is it only available at Rose and Crown?

After spending a HOT day at MK.
We lalways ook forward to a COLD ONE in epcot.

I do have to say that some (not all)of the people drinking the yard are getting stares not because of the glass but the effects of it's contents have on the consumer.

When I got a yard of beer last year and walked around Epcot with it ( in the rain ), I may have had a few stares. But I was too drunk to notice.. :woohoo:

How much does a yard cost?

Don't worry about anyone else. I remember the first time I went to Disney as an "adult." (I was 17, so not quite an adult.) I was shocked to see alcohol, and I might have been one of those people staring. Not because I think there's anything wrong with drinking. Heck, my dh and I plan on having a few drinks ourselves while we're there. We live in a dry county though, so it just seemed weird to me. I also find beer in Wal-Mart and wine in a grocery store crazy.

Off the top of my head, the first one is $12.25 and refills are $7.25. I've refilled it enough times to make it worth it :teeth:

Of course you know that a yard of ale is meant to 'downed in one', it's like a pub challenge for the truely crazy...so next time you get one, bottoms up ;)

To make matters worse, in England they are actually a yard (3 feet) long!

I think it is great!!!! They are probably just looking wondering where did they get that from. :teeth: Most people anyway.

I've learned many things from these posts, but none are more fullfilling than learning about the "yard of beer." Been to Epcot many times, but never noticed anyone with the yard of beer. Didn't know of them, but NOW I DO, thanks to y'all. I'll be in Epcot in two days (St. Patrick's Day no less), and guess what I'll be looking for? Wonder if they have green ones on the 17th? Hardy Har Har.

We drink around the world frequently! I so miss the Reingles from Norway but make up for it in Germany! :)

If anyone looks at me funny (they never have), I'll offer them a pint. ;) :)

It was great walking around with it.
