I hope your DH is able to get some much needed downtime! My dh was glad he went, but it was a tiring trip, and of course, nothing is easy with the military!

Hmmm...jewelry....always wanted a tanzanite ring. And maybe some diamond earrings...

He's just excited to eat at the Chili's (although he reiterated- no pork, so no baby back ribs) and get his 3 drink coupons.

My friend got sent there for a year and a half recently with the army. She complained that the 'American' food was bad and that the heat was intense - this coming from someone from Texas! But, she wasn't happy about being there, so I would be surprised to hear her say anything positive about it.

My biggest question, are the locals friendly to Americans?

I have heard that it was hot but, it's good to hear it compared to TX heat. Thanks!

I asked dh about their attitude towards Americans. He said the locals really don't pay attention to you. They don't go out of their way to be nice and they don't go out of their way to be nasty. They pretty much ignore you.
