Been to Chef Mickey's Dinner Buffet lately?

Leave in 2 weeks and have ADR here. My sister just got back last week and said the food was awful at dinner. Any other opinions out there??

We were there at the end of July for dinner, and we didn't think the food was very good either. Of course, I am a very picky eater, but overall the rest of the group (there were 8 of us), wasn't too thrilled either. I think you really pay for the characters, but I would still like a decent meal.

I have been for the breakfast buffet before, and I personally thought the food was much better. IMO

we have eate there 10 times in 5 years and love every visit, there are sooooooo many choices breakfast and dinner so we just try a TINY bit of everything and then go back and get a full helping of what we love. Food is great IMHO

We had dinner there in July (and December too) and thought it was very good. Also did breakfast in July and many other times and we always love that too.

I have a friend who had dinner there a few weeks ago, and she said it was really good. I hope so, because I eat there in 17 days.

There about 2-1/2 weeks ago. Lunch was horrible.

prime rib--fine, salmon (cheaper quality, did not eat it, but was certainly edible), delicious scallop/shrimp cerviche(??) on very good salad bar, cooked brocoli, carrots, rice, pizza, chicken nuggets, mac-cheese. Not as good as 1900 and I think Crystal Palace was a bit better----but certainly decent if seeing Mickey is the main purpose---if dining is main purpose, go elsewhere (I would pick Boma's).

We ate there and the food isn't awful, but the choices are very limited. I like buffets with lots of options and we didn't feel like there was much variety here.

The characters were awesome though.

We were there in June and Chef Mickey's dinner was one of our favorites! We had one of our better dinners there. We will definitely do dinner there again.

Was there in June - hate it and it used to be one of our favorites. Food is mediocre at best and the character interaction is a joke. Stop to 10 seconds and they are off again. Not even close to on our list for our next 2 trips. Even DD, age 9, said she wants her 10 yop b'day dinner in May to be at Yak and Yeti when it has always been Chef Mickey's in the past.

We were just there Sept 2. Just loved the mashed potatoes and prime rib. It is standard food but it was good. We also ate at Flying Fish and we did not enjoy the food at all. Our fish was overdone on the ends and raw in the middle and the service was horrible. Would choose Chef Mickey's again. Remember, everyone has different tastes. This might just be one of your favorites.

I looks to me that DISNEY has lost it focus. Most of the restuarants think the show is more important than the meal.

WRONG

I come for a good meal the intertainment is secondary. I personally think Disney is trying to push more people through this place than it can handle. Our waitress did a good job but she was running the entire night trying to keep up. (under staffed ?)

When we spend over $1000.00 for food on our vacations at Disney. I expect to be treated with respect from the wait/staff and to have some good food. Not some cold ravoli with Ragu out of a can.

We will be there again next month. Hope the Buffet is full this time and hot.

We felt the same about our dinner there in June! We prefer breakfast there.

We have made Chef Mickey's our traditional first dinner for about 9 trips...even had Thanksgiving dinner there in '04. Loved it....until Aug. 5, '07. We had dinner there that night. The service was mediocre to say the least...worst we've ever had. Our server was overly burdened by two parties of at least 10 in each group. We felt like the poor cousins! Character interaction was the worst we've seen...arrived, stopped for a hug, sign the book, see ya later. Took about 25 seconds..I kid you not.
The food? I could overlook all the above issues if the food quality was what we have come to expect. It wasn't. The choices were less than stellar. Used to be about three times the choices. The salad area was abysmal to say the least. Some wilted lettuce, frozen cukes, tomatoes and croutons. There just wasn't much to choose from this time around. Even the dessert table was meager. And we were there about 5:30, so it wasn't that it was late.
No, I think we may do breakfast there again, but we're done with dinner at Chef Mickey's for quite awhile.

It was the worst meal of our last trip. We all, by far, prefered Boma and 1900 Park for dinner. This trip we are trying Crystal Palace and Princess Storybook. CM was sooo loud and the buffet and dessert bar were trashed, stuff was everywhere, the characters were fine and the food was okay. We mostly picked for location as we were headed to MNSSHP after.

I take it that your school lunches weren't very good. I was very fortunate, and in high school, had a great school lunch program, so if Chef Mickey's is the quality of that, I'd be very happy.

I was just at Disney and we went to dinner at Chef Mickey's. I have to say it was the most awful dinner we have had. The place was dirty and the food was disgusting! I told my husband if we had not had the free dining plan I would have refused to pay for the meal. I think they feel that people will come because of the characters so even if the food is not that great they still get the people in. I personally will not eat there again. I also was dumb enough to try breakfast. That was know better. I found a long piece of string in my eggs???? Not sure why it was there. My whole family agreed we are done with Chef Mickey! The food in general is okay. Some places are better than others. I have to say after I leave Disney I look foward to a home cooked meal. If I had to rate my best meal at Disney I would have to say Kona Cafe. Worst was Chef Mickey!!!!!
