Been There, Done That and ThenSome:Timandlesley Do Disneyfor18days!11/2 TR IS UP!pg79

If there was ever a perfect Disney day...I think you had it:cool1: Wow, start to finish....perfect.

So sorry about Tim's knee, that's a bummer. The Belle you saw at breakfast I think is the most beautiful one I have ever seen, she is stunning....gonna have to agree on Ariel though....yikers. Lauren looks just as stunning as Belle in her beautiful dress!! I have yet to see a stunning Sleeping Beauty...when Jas was 6 and we went to the castle for breakfast, Aurora came to our table and when she left Jas looked at me all serious and said, I think she needs a little more sleep:lmao:
The show sounded amazing...good for Luke, you guys must have been so proud!!

Love Spectro and Wishes, I always get weepy for both.....Wishes throughs me right over the edge though

Wow! It looks like you have a very full and exciting day! And to think it only started at 9 and still got all that done! We like to sleep in a little on vacation too.:cloud9:

I have noticed a lot of "interesting" princesses lately.:scared1: I think Disney must be having a hard time filling those spots. Luckily, all the ones we had in Nov. were just beautiful. We loved the Akershus breakfast too, especially the potatoes!!!! And they had the best swiss cheese on the buffet. Have you ever done their lunch/dinner? We are debating doing that meal next time but not sure about the food.

How did Lauren do with the HDDR? Looks like everyone had fun. I'm debating doing this with my DD who is Lauren's age but I don't know if she will get the humor. I'm wondering if Mickey's BBQ would be better for now until she is a little bit older. What do you think?

This was a great update!;)

What a fantastic day!!! I bet it was fun to just go and let the kids direct your touring plans for the morning. That's funny that you went to the breakfast instead of lunch--you would think they would have caught it. But at least it was yummy! :thumbsup2 That is SOOOO cool that Luke was a part of the show!!! He's a very brave boy! Yay for getting great spots for Spectro and Wishes :goodvibes What a great, great day! Oh--and I think we'll have to do a Kim Possible Mission too! Where do you get a fastpass for them?

What a great Disney day ! That was nice for you to have some time with the kids alone and for Tim to get things cleaned up while you were gone. Lauren is such a little beauty in her Belle dress. I love the picture of Luke and Lauren on their mission. The expressions on their faces are very intense ... those missions really look awesome.

Glad you enjoyed the Hoop de do review ... we will have to give it a try sometime. Luke was too cute in the show ... that was a very brave thing for him to get on stage. I loved the pics of Wishes and Spectro ... definitely two of my favorite Disney things.

Wow, I can't believe how much you all got done in one day. Luke getting to talk to Crush and being in the show that night - how lucky! Lauren looked beautiful in her Belle dress. Belle's my favorite.

HDDR looks like a lot of fun. We've never done it. I'll add it to my "next time" list.

I was wondering if the Kim Possible adventures were always the same in each country, and I got my answer. Yours did some things that were different than ours in China and Norway. We didn't have the door with the "bad guys" behind it in China and we didn't have the picture taken for the magazine in Norway. So I guess they do kind of switch it up a bit. That's good to know. If we do it again next year, maybe we'll get to do some of the things you did that we didn't do.

The end of your night was perfect - Wishes and the later Spectro without the big crowds. Fabulous!

Having fun reading but it's making me want to be back there so badly.

Alice

What a great day!!! The Kim Possible thing looks really fun and a great way for the kids to have fun in the World Showcase. Isn't AKL amazing? I really think it is my favorite resort also and the pool is great also! Hoop De Doo looks like fun...I haven't done that since I was a kid. Luke did a great job with his part. I do the same think watching Wishes though...I start singing along. Ahhh to be standing in front of the castle right now watching Wishes. Can't wait to see how you liked Saratoga.

Lesley, I can't believe that you are only half way done with your trip! I cannot imagine being able to spend so long at the World. That Kim possible looks like a great way to let you inspect more of WS, which is something we rarely do. China looked beautiful! You didn't miss much by not getting lunch in Norway. We were dissapointed with the selections, breakfast actually looked tastier!

We also love AKL. We stayed in a 2br last november and it was heavenly. Next time we are saving up for Poly, it's my dream!

Great TR as usual. I look forward to getting my disney fix through you every summer.

Oh I forgot............. do you think the Kim Possible thing would work for my DD5 without the older brother there to help like Lauren had? I think she would like that too. And where did you pick up fastpasses for it? Thanks! It looked like they were soooo into it!

Great day!!! I glad that you like the Hoop Dee Doo, I knew you would. I kinda expected someone in your family to get up on stage, thought it would be Tim. The Ranger is my favorite in the show.

You are too funny...but you shouldn't feel bad for saying Ariel wasn't all that cute. There are definitely some princesses that are cuter or not as cute as previous years! The Belle you had was gorgeous...we had a beautiful one at Norway as well. I would love to see these girls out-of-character!

I'm late to the party, but wanted to say I am loving your trip report! I used to lurk a lot on the boards before joining and posting, so I've caught all your other TRs, and they're all SO fun! :cool1:

BTW, your camera takes awesome pictures (the ones from Wishes were so clear)! Do you mind me asking what kind you use?

Can't wait for more!

Awesome update!! Hoop Dee Doo looks like it was alot of fun. We have never been there before, and are always looking for new things to try at WDW!

Sounds like the perfect day to me, Lesly!
By the way, I always sing along to the Wishes fireworks music as well. It makes me teary eyed:flower3:

I was so excited to see you guys were all back from another trip. I love your reports. We stayed at AKL in June for the first time and we fell in love.
The AKL buses...we were on the bus from the MK the first week of June and my 4 year old son had fallen asleep...my husband ended up standing holding him. Not ONE person (lots of middle agers and teens) offered their seat. So we were in the dark, holding a sleeping child, trying not to fall over. That's one heck of a ride.
Glad you enjoyed Hoop...it's a MUST for us every time we visit Disney. We LOVE it there!
Can't wait for your next installments! 18 days in Disney. I'm SOOOOO jealous!:wizard:

Fantastic for Luke to get picked for the show:woohoo:
he did so well, too:goodvibes

besides Tim's knee, what a great day:cool1:

thanks for sharing:goodvibes
It was such a great night! Glad you enjoyed it.

What great pictures!!!!:thumbsup2
Thanks!

What a great report!!!! I can not wait to see how you liked your next "home"... Animal Kingdom sounds amazing.. what a wonderful experience... will you be staying there again in the fall? Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful vacation with all of us!!!!
So glad you are enjoying it, yes AKL is AMAZING!!!! We are actually at Bay Lake Towers in October, can't wait to experience that but just booked our AKL trip for next summer a few weeks ago, can't wait!
Great update!!! Do you think a 10yo and 13 yo would enjoy the Kim Possible mission? They sound like great fun to me. How exciting for Luke and what an awesome memory, I would never get my boys up on stage, he is very brave. Can't wait to read more and read what you think of SSR.

Melissa
Glad you enjoyed it. Yes for sure kids those ages would love it, I even saw adults doing it, they are amazing!

What a fun day you all had. I wish someone here would volunteer to do laundry. Your kids sure enjoyed their missions.

I am super glad you enjoy the show... Doug and I did that during our honeymoon.... I want to take the kids in the next couple of years. What a fantastic night at MK too!

Oh Lesley you need to read my trip report to see terrible bus moments... (two in one day)!
Glad you enjoyed it, yes Tim wanting to do laundry was great!!!! I'll have to read about your bus moments : )
What a great day! :thumbsup2 I think it's great that Luke was picked for the show! I can still remember when my little brother was picked for the same part (I remember him wearing that vest & everything! LOL) probably about 20 years ago now! How fun! :)
Glad you enjoyed it. So cool your brother wore that same vest many years ago : )

Oh great update!! What a fun Epcot day, a dip in the pool, and the Hoop de Do! What a great combo! So sorry to hear about DH's knee...

But glad the Hoop de Do was fun! We were thinking about that one for our December trip... I love the spur of the moment trip to MK! Nice to do a little of everything and to see Spectro without it being crowded! Great plus!

Oh, and I read on another TR about clueless people on busses... totally unacceptable to ignore giving a seat to a person who is holding a child. really insensitive. :sad2:

Looking forward to your next day!!! :surfweb:
Yes, his knee becomes quite the issue you will see. Hoop De Doo is such fun and MK was incredible! I just hate it when people are rude on buses!
Lesley

Saratoga doesn't look like it would do anything for me, but I trust your judgement so much so I can't wait to hear your opinion! I've followed it so far and it hasn't let me down.
Well, I hope you enjoy my oppinion, you will soon see : )
Oh Im so glad you had such a great holiday, and it's even better now with an update! Sounds great to be able to do what you and Tim wanted to do this day. Those breakfast potatoes are great aren't they, I could make a meal out of those alone;)
Looks like you guys had fun with your missions, can't wait to try them when we're there.
Too bad Luke hurt Tim's knee again, kids feet....they always end up hitting what they shouldn't:confused3
Looks like Hoop de doo was fun and the food sounds great.
So glad you got to see Wishes and the second Spectro. We may have to check into that!
Overall, sounds like a great day:yay: Can't wait to hear all about Saratoga.
Glad you are enjoying the updates. The breakfast potatoes are AMAZING!!! I almost made a meal out of those : ) Yes, it stinks about tim's knee! The second Spectro is wonderful, I highly recommend it!
Welcome Home

What a great day you all had minus Tim's knee....

WOO HOO to Luke getting picked by crush and to be in the Hoop De Do Revue :thumbsup2

How cool you got to see Wishes and Spectro and relax for the night :wizard:

Can't wait to hear how SSR is :goodvibes
It was so cool having Luke be picked!!! Glad you enjoyed the update.

i've been so busy lately and neglectful of the dis, but it looks like you guys were gone during my craziness so i didn't miss much here!

what a great day! a co-worker of mine is at disney right now and they're doing the quick service dining plan. she wanted one meal with the princesses and i recommended norway's lunch to her (i actually recommended breakfast but they made their reservations a little late and lunch was all that was left). they went today and she texted me a little while ago and told me how great it was for sydney (her DD) and how thrilled she was. it looks like you guys enjoyed it, too! lauren looked so pretty in her little yellow dress!

sorry about tim's knee. that stinks!

so glad you guys loved hoop dee doo. it really was such a pleasant surprise for me. i didn't think i'd like it as much as i did. it was hilarious! and luke did a GREAT job! :thumbsup2

we did MK EMH after our hoop dee doo (with a pit stop at the tambu lounge for a lapu lapu on the way ) and, let me tell you, a belly full of sangria and lapu lapu + MK at night = SO MUCH FUN! :goodvibes seeing the the later spectro is awesome - the lack of crowds makes it much more enjoyable! glad you guys got to see wishes, too!

What a great day you guys had!!! The Kim Possible missions look like they were a real hoot for the kids!!!! I think I might even want to play a few of them when I go in Sept!!!

I have heard great things about the HoopDeeDoo Review...and once again it seems like a really fun show!! How fun for Luke that he got chosen to have a part in the act!!!! That is awesome!!!!!

I too am a huge fan of Wishes and Spectro and how fun for you to get two great viewing spots and no crowds!! YAY!!!

Can't wait to hear more!!
It really was a great day! Hoop Dee Doo is great, hope you get to go it's such fun.

How lucky are you all? You should be proud that Luke got up to play on stage. What fun! Oh, and I love Tim's washboard abs.:lmao:

You seriously cracked me up with your comment on Ariel. "hideous"

It seemed like all the princesses had plastered makeup that was much too light on their faces. I know what you mean though. Our first encounter with Ariel was at Ariel's Grotto our first trip. She was strikingly beautiful. We've not seen a princess that even compares ever since. I'll have to go back and check out last year's Ariel in your TR when I get a chance.:goodvibes
I know, we really are lucky. Maybe I shouldn't have said "hideous" Tim thought that was mean, but she definitely wasn't Ariel quality in my oppinion. Yes, you should go back and find our Ariel from last year, GORGEOUS!!!

Great update, Lesley - it was worth the wait! What a great day, except for Tim's knee.
You know, I just don't understand the people on the busses, either. Did no one ever teach them simple courtesy? I've seen little old ladies, mothers carrying infants, etc. standing and none of the MEN and boys seated offering their seat. :confused3 Once I asked some guys to move over and make room for a mother and child when they were hogging more than their share of room. They did, but looked very offended.
Looking forward to hearing more!
Glad you enjoyed it. I don't understand where that courtesy has gone on Disney buses, so awful!

WOW!! What a great update! Glad you enjoyed breakfast at Akershus! We ate there back in May--sooo yummy!! And yes, that Ariel was not so pretty (bless her heart--as we say in the South). Looks like the Kim Possible missions were a hit! And Hoop Dee Doo Review looks like sooo much fun! How exciting that Luke was picked to be in the show!! And what a perfect way to end the evening at MK!! Can't wait to read more!

Glad you enjoyed it, yes the breakfast was wonderful! Hoop Dee Doo is great, you should give it a try some time. Thanks for reading/posting
Awww Lauren looks so sweet in her Belle dress! Loved the picture of Luke hugging Cindy!!:goodvibes

Woo hoo, being picked for Crush and Hoop De Doo in one day is really cool!! Loved how happy you all looked at dinner!

I can't believe that Tim could make it to, through and standing on the bus, after his knee getting hurt! I bet Luke had so much fun riding rides with him though!

SS is the only DVC property I have stayed in so far (twice). I loved some things about it and am looking forward to your reviews!
Glad you enjoyed the pics of our breakfast. It really was Luke's lucky day! I will review Saratoga for sure so stay tuned.

I wish I could get Paddy to volunteer to stay back and do laundry for me!!!LOL Well done Tim!LOL

Didn't Lauren look gorgeous in her Belle Dress and Luke is such a handsome young lad as well!

I would like to try Asherkus for breakfast but with having three boys I wasn't sure if all the Princesses would put them off!

Again the Kim possible missions look great fun! We didn't get a chance to do Turtle Talk with Crush but we sure would love to give it a go when we return!

The pool area at AKL looks AMAZING - how cool to be swimming so close to all the wildlife!

Such ashame for Tim's knee! I hope its recovering now and he isn't in too much pain?

The Hoop De Hoo looks like great fun! How cool for Luke to be picked! I only had a quick look at the video clip- didn't want to spoil it for myself in case we did do it - nice to have some things that will be a surprise!

We absolutely adore Wishes and Spectro but we didn't adore the crowds that went with it so was nice to see you didn't have to fight them!

I know what you mean about people and busses - how difficult is it to just let someone who clearly needs a seat more than you do to have it - its not like its that long a journey!

Sad to see your leaving AKL but I'm sure you will enjoy Saratoga just as much - it is Disney afterall eh?!

Carreen
xxx
Hi Carreen, glad you enjoyed the update. Yes, you need to try Turtle Talk, it is really funny. The late night Spectro was GREAT!!! Thanks for reading/posting

Brilliant update Lesley!! It sounds like you guys just had THE best day.

Are the Kim Possible missions just for kids? Do you think they would let me do one on my solo trip? It looks like so much fun!!

I've just checked your count down for your next trip and I think I miss you by only a couple of weeks. I would have so liked to meet you guys!:headache:

Must arrange things better next time!!

Looking forward to the next installment.popcorn::
It was the best day (maybe of the trip) just an awesome day, glad you enjoyed it! Yes, I saw tons of adults doing the KP missions, fun for all for sure!

What a great day you guys had! I laughed at thinking about Lauren doing the "cut throat" thing, it's so funny when little kids do things that are adult! And it's amazing to wonder where they pick stuff up!

Hoop Dee Doo looks like a BLAST! I am tossing this ADR around for our NYE trip, taking my in-laws, I think they would love it - and mental note made about the cab! :thumbsup2

I love Spectro as well, it's so beautiful. And when you can catch it without the crowds-which I never have-I'm sure it's even more magical!!!

I agree with you on the buses. I've read several TRs lately where a person had to stay holding a toddler/small child and NO ONE gave up their seat. That late at night, no child, or person carrying a child should have to stand! :sad2:
Lauren was so funny, glad you enjoyed the story. Isn't that awful about the buses, why do people have to be so rude!?!

What a fabulous day!!! You have sold me on Kim Possible-- I can't wait to save the world in September! I hope I can do as good a job as Luke and Lauren did!

Sorry about Tim's knee. :rotfl2: on the washboard abs! I haven't seen Hoop Dee Doo since I was a kid and had forgotten that they bring those out. Too fun! And look at Luke getting picked in both Turtle Talk AND Hoop Dee Doo!

Finally what a great way to wrap up the night with Wishes, Spectro and minimal crowds! :cloud9:
It was a great way to wrap up the night. Glad you enjoyed Tim's washboard abs : )

Sounds like a most perfect day to me! Great video...very cute!
It really was perfect, glad you enjoyed it.

What a wonderful day from start to finish! I tour the same way when Charles isn't around -- I just let the kids decide what they want to do. We didn't do the KP mission in China, but it looks really cute! I love that the "bad guys" rattle the door! Sorry to hear that Tim's knee was acting up again :(. Dinner looks delicious and what a riot that Luke was part of the show! What a great memory for all of you!
It was a great day, funny how we tour without our DH's :) The KP mission in China is great - sure you'll get to try it some day. Thanks for reading/posting.

I'm really enjoying your report! I am loving the idea of a long, relaxing trip to WDW. The longest trip we have ever been on is 7 nights ... next summer, we are totally staying 11 or 12 nights!!!

How long are you staying next summer? It is almost time to make those DVC reservations, isn't it??!!

So glad you are enjoying it. Next summer we booked for 8 nights/9 days at AKL, can't wait!
Lesley
Great update!
Thanks!

I'm so proud of you guys for letting yourselves relax on the trip!:thumbsup2

She looked beautiful! Yellow is such a good color on her.

:rotfl::rotfl:

I LOVE this! What a great memory. Good job to Luke for coming up with a good answer under pressure

This is a STUNNING Belle!

She looks a little possessed!!

Wow! We've seen some "iffy" princesses, but this takes the cake. YIKES!:scared:

Your comments cracked me up, you are right, Snow white did looked posessed, HALARIOUS!!! Glad you agreed with me on Ariel, Tim thought I was being a bit harsh : ) Yes, Belle was STUNNING!
Whew! What an update! KP looks so fun...can't wait! That Ariel doesn't look too pretty!!?? (Or pleasant for that matter) Great for Luke to have that fun experience! Good job getting great seats for Spectro. And, I agree about the bus thing! We always give up our seats...some people are just ignorant!
KP is SUCH fun!!!! Glad you are enjoying the TR, thanks for reading/posting

This was a great update!;)
I know, I noticed several "interesting princesses" as well, don't know what's up with that! I have done dinner there and lunch there and loved the meatloaf type of dish, we had good meals there each time. Lauren LOVED HDDR, I would recommend it highly, she was WAY into it, such fun!!!

Glad you enjoyed the TR update. KP missions can be fast passed at Innoventions and it doesn't count against other FP's.
What a great Disney day ! That was nice for you to have some time with the kids alone and for Tim to get things cleaned up while you were gone. Lauren is such a little beauty in her Belle dress. Hi Alice, it was GREAT seeing you guys, hope you had a good last night and your drive home was o.k. Definitely try Hoop De Doo next trip, such fun! Glad you enjoyed the update.

KP would be great for your DD5 as long as you do it along with her, Lauren really enjoyed it too and was GREAT at finding a lot of the clue locations!
Welcome back!

Great installment!! What an awesome day!! :)
Glad you enjoyed it.

Great day!!! I glad that you like the Hoop Dee Doo, I knew you would. I kinda expected someone in your family to get up on stage, thought it would be Tim. The Ranger is my favorite in the show.
Yes, it was an awesome show - I thought it would be Tim too and never thought Luke would get up there, soooo proud!

Well, WELCOME!!! Better late than never, glad you enjoyed the other TR's and are back for more. Our camera is a Sony 10 megapixel camera, we got it at Target.
Awesome update!! Hoop Dee Doo looks like it was alot of fun. We have never been there before, and are always looking for new things to try at WDW!
Glad you enjoyed the TR, definitely try HDD next trip!
Sounds like the perfect day to me, Lesly!

Glad you found us again and are enjoying this TR. Unbelievable about your bus story, horrible isn't it!!!

i've been so busy lately and neglectful of the dis, but it looks like you guys were gone during my craziness so i didn't miss much here!

Hi Dawn, glad you made it back to the Dis, I understand about being busy! Glad your friends enjoyed the princess meal too, it really is a good one. Hoop De Doo is excellent, such fun - thanks for suggesting it so strongly. The later Spectro was GREAT!!! Take care!
Lesley

I know this doesn't count for most bus riders, but if you saw two of my big strapping boys sitting down, you would have said they should get up and stand. But I always made them sit down as one had weak knees due to previous chemo (he eventually had surgery on one knee due to an ACL injury) and the other has JRA. It was actually a fight to get them to sit since they did not want to be "different" than us, especially since the youngest was able to stand!
