Been There, Done That and ThenSome:Timandlesley Do Disneyfor18days!11/2 TR IS UP!pg79

Enjoying your report, but it has me wondering.....am I the ONLY person who doesn't hate the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse?!?!?!

I like it too...for the same reason...Classic Disney. I love Swiss Family Robinson! But, I admit, I don't do it every trip.

Enjoying your report, but it has me wondering.....am I the ONLY person who doesn't hate the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse?!?!?! Seriously, it is classic Disney! Like back when the Magic Kingdom WAS Disney World, since nothing else existed! I remember climbing through the treehouse as a kid and thinking to myself how much I would have LOVED to live there!!! (Still do actually ;)) Please tell me there's someone else out there who shares my nostalgia for the treehouse?! :sad1:

Anyway, sorry...loving the report. Anxious to hear what you thought of Kidani. We were there opening weekend and are trying to decide whether it's back to Kidani next time, or to try Jambo. Hmmm......decisions, decisions.
Yeah, I like it for the nostalgia factor. I remember walking along on it in '75, and seeing someone from my school further along in the branches!

Great update Lesley! Luke was adorable dancing to YMCA. What a cutie, being all brave, grooving to the music. I cannot believe the FP line was so long at TSM. I wonder why that was?

Great update and pics. Love the video from BPB and the pics. Hopefully next time we don't get rained out and can see it. Boma sounds amazing. I have a picky DH too but well have to try it sometime. :cool1: That you all met up for swim time and adult beverages. Looking forward popcorn:: to the next update sounds like it will be funny.
Glad you enjoyed it. Next update coming up soon, hope it gives you some laughter.

Boy I got behind quickly! :rotfl: We have VBS at church this week, and I am in charge of Registration which is a BIG behind the scenes job, so I haven't had a chance to get on.

Love that the DIS (friends) and Disney gave you something to smile about after your rough day.

So glad that the rain didn't effect your fun either. :thumbsup2

I can't wait to get back down there and try that TSM ride. It looks so FUN!! That was my 16 yo son's FAVORITE movie.

Blackmail photos are always handy to have. :rolleyes1
Well, welcome back. Our VBS is coming up soon too and Tim and I are leaders. The TSM ride is SUCH FUN, you will love it!

Ahh yes, the old "bring out the naked picture when you were 5" in the future. :lmao:

When my DD was 5 she ran out to the pool at my parents house to ask Purplepeg and Geodoc if they wanted some gummy worms. Geodoc pointed out to her that she was naked and she pointedly said "I KNOW, but do you want a gummy worm":lmao: Being the mature parents we are we bring this up at all family functions and get togethers, now that she has a boyfriend we have a new audience:rotfl2:

Thanks again for a wonderful installment, I get so excited when I log in and see that you have posted another day.....thank you so much for making me laugh!!!
Too funny!!!! Poor girl : ) Glad I could make you laugh at Lauren's expense : )
Loving the report thus far! Glad to see the iPhone photos. I am getting an iPhone on Saturday! Sounds like you really love it. I am excited to get it and see what all it can do. I am a Blackberry girl, and wanted the BB Storm, but do NOT want Verizon. Also, wanted a touch screen, so the iPhone it is. Anyway, sorry to hijack! :)
Glad you are enjoying it, you will LOVE your iPhone, tons of great Disney apps!!!
I guess we should have waited in the standby line for TSM like you guys did. We saw the lines over there and decided to head to RnRC instead. The wait there said 20 minutes, I think, but it was only about five really. We ended up with FP for TSM for way later in the day and almost didn't get to use them. Long story.

Did you know that you can skip the show at Animation Studios? Just go in the doors of the gift shop. You can kind of sneak in the back way. Very nice. I agree, the show needs an update.

Okay, off to bed.

Alice
Hello Alice, yeah, the standby for TSM really did move quickly but looks like you lucked out with RnRC. Thanks for the Animation Studios tip, I always wondered about that. Great to know!

So I finally caught up! I have been wondering when you'd be starting your TR and looking for it, don't know how I missed it!!:upsidedow Anyway, as usual I am loving reading about your fun family and all the awesome stuff you do in WDW! I have to say- I LOVE that photo of your men in front of the castle- it is priceless! AND I wanted to tell you that my family had the same reaction to the treehouse many years ago- "That's IT??????" I think my DH said the same thing as Tim- "That's 10 minutes of my life I'll never get back!":rotfl: Love how you are talking Lauren through her fear on the rides- and so proud of her for going on them all! :thumbsup2 Also glad you met some of your DISfriends- it IS like meeting best friends you've never met before, isn't it? The TR I'm doing now is all about that- actually I'm writing it with 2 other DISfriends, (DISmoms) Camster0307 & Karajeboo, about when we went to WDW in May without our kids- sooooooooo much fun!!!

Can't wait for more!!!!!!!:)
Glad you found us, that's funny your DH said the same thing. What fun going with your Dis girlfriendS!!!!

I love Luke's Dug shirt. I think I have told you before but we have a golden retriever, too. That saying about "I just met you and already love you" should be the motto for goldens. Thanks for the review of the Brown Derby ... another restaurant we have not tried.

The story about Lauren with the parasol is too funny.:lmao:
I love that shirt too, LOVE goldens.

Loving all of your updates! That grapefruit cake looked gross to me. We are trying Boma this trip and I am so excited!
Yeah, it was SUPER gross!
Enjoying your report, but it has me wondering.....am I the ONLY person who doesn't hate the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse?!?!?! Seriously, it is classic Disney! Glad you are enjoying the report. You know, I a may have enjoyed the TR move if I didn't have my complaining family with me : ) We chose Jambo because of all of the food options there, there aren't any at Kidani so that sealed the deal for us.
What a great day you had!! You all look like you were having the time of your lives! It makes me want to go back right now!!!!! A great ending to have a Dis meet too!

Love Luke's new shirt!!!!

Love the blackmail photo! So funny!
It was a fabulous day!!!, glad you enjoyed it.

:thumbsup2 Terrific update as usual!!!!
Thanks for reading/ posting

Great update Lesley! Luke was adorable dancing to YMCA. What a cutie, being all brave, grooving to the music. I cannot believe the FP line was so long at TSM. I wonder why that was?
Glad you enjoyed the video, I'll let him know. Wasn't that a crazy line!?!

Hi Lesley, I just got caught up on your report I'm glad you had such a good time. My brother was there the week before you and said the heat was brutal, thank goodness for the AC and the pool. I hope you have a great trip and I look forward to reading more when you return. And I love all your pics! Linda :)

I love the UP pics! DH has recently taken to wearing shorts with sneakers and socks. Every time he wears this combo I start calling him Russell. Wish we had gotten to do DHS on our last trip so we could have met them!

Sorry about the work stress in Disney (I just got to read that installment). If it's any consolation, I'm taking an online class and the professor won't answer any of the students' emails! I was ranting about it to my DH the other night and in the back of my mind I thought, "I bet Lesley doesn't do this to HER students!"

Can't wait for the next update!

Im sure someone else has said this but you know you can enter the Animation Academy through the back gift shop? I think I sat through the Mulan thing once and figured out an alternate way! lol. Luke dancing is adorable!

Okay so you have me totally addicted to your trip report. I can't wait for the next update. I am patiently waiting. :thumbsup2

Hi there! I'm just joining in - loving your report!!!

18 days in Disney...ahhhhh-pure bliss. I can't wait to read what is in store for you yet! :cloud9:

Your kids are adorable!!

The UP characters were great. You are right, I DON'T do that to my students : )

Alice just gave me that tip, thanks, I will DEFINITELY bypass that in the future - they need to update that show.

Okay so you have me totally addicted to your trip report. I can't wait for the next update. I am patiently waiting. :thumbsup2
Glad I could get you addicted ; ) Next update coming today.

Hi! I am really enjoying your trip report. I can't wait till the next installment.

Day 6
So this was originally supposed to be an Animal Kingdom morning for us but we decided to head to Magic Kingdom instead. We had a wake up call for 7:30, it was a very slow moving morning for us. We left the room around 8 and headed to Mara for a quick bite and were at the bus stop at 8:30.
Remember how I said we had now bus problems at AK, I remember now, there was ONE morning where that wasn’t the case and THIS was the morning. The entire waiting area for Magic Kingdom was PACKED, everyone apparently wanted to go to Magic Kingdom for rope drop this morning. The kids passed the line time by exploring the African touch and feel artifacts:
001640x480.jpg

That’s why I love AKL, at what other resort can your kids be ENTERTAINED at the bus stop – so cool. It was a little suspect though because they had antibacterial lotion next to the holes and Lauren came running back and said “the last one is ELEPHANT POOP!!!!” we died laughing.
O.K., back to the line. A bus for Magic Kingdom FINALLY rolled up and it pulled up and then pulled RIGHT OUT AND COMPLETELY LEFT. The guy who was with transportation who was tallying the buses coming and going threw his hands up in the air and looked at the driver and the driver just kept going. Talk about a lot of angry and confused people!!! So, we decided to go with the Epcot line and monorail over to MK since there were only like 10 people in that line, so we jumped over to that line. Well, as we did a Magic Kingdom bus pulled up, so we decided to jump back over to that but we didn’t see the wheelchair in that line. GEEZ. We ended up on a Magic Kingdom bus WITH the wheelchair and didn’t get to Magic Kingdom until 9:30 AUGH! Oh well, we were AT THE MAGIC KINGDOM.
It was Luke’s idea to head immediately up the stairs to the train station, here I am following our leader:
002640x480.jpg

A happy boy on the train (and because we were following his plan):
003640x480.jpg

We got off the train in Adventure land and grabbed fast passes for Thunder Mountain Railroad and hopped into the Splash Mountain line since it just had a 20 minute stand by line.
Lauren and I in line:
004640x480.jpg

Tim in line:
006640x480.jpg

Then Lauren wanted the camera to take a picture of me :
007640x480.jpg

The line moved pretty quickly and before we knew it we were about to board my favorite ride in the Magic Kingdom:
010640x480.jpg

Tyson and Shae enjoyed the ride immensely:
012640x480.jpg

A saying to live by :
013640x480.jpg

We didn’t get too wet this time which was o.k. since it was first thing in the morning. Here is our ride photo:
014640x480.jpg

Lauren was so upset because Tim’s hand covered her face – poor Lauren had this happen to her almost the entire trip.
We headed out an got some lemonade slushies and relaxed and people watched (what fun) until it was time to use our Thunder Mountain Fast Passes:
016640x480.jpg

Time to ride the WILDEST RIDE IN THE WIIIIILLLLLDERNESSSSS!:
018640x480.jpg

Lauren and Tim rode together and again waited for a front row seat:
019640x480.jpg

Tyson decided last minute he wanted to ride too so I quickly gave him to Tim:
020640x480.jpg

Luke and I also waited for the front car and enjoyed our wild ride
021640x480.jpg

022640x480.jpg

As we were coming off the ride the skies had turned black above us and it started thundering and lightening all over and getting real windy. At this point it was around 11:00 so Tim wanted to grab tables at the taco place in front of Pirates so we had a table before everyone decided to run for shelter and grab lunch. As we sat at the table Lauren and I spotted Peter Pan and Wendy, so we headed across the way to wait in line.
023640x480.jpg

She had fun interacting with them- they were very sweet!
024640x480.jpg

025640x480.jpg

Then we enjoyed some yummy taco’s – I love that place. By this time the storm had passed and we headed over to ride Aladdin carpets. Here is Luke’s Arabian pose:
026640x480.jpg

Luke taking his carpet flying role very seriously : )
028640x480.jpg

Lauren on the ride:
029640x480.jpg

Then we had some fun in the Tiki Sprayer area:
030640x480.jpg

I think Luke was challenging it to hit his rear in this one:

CONTINUED IN NEXT POST!

We have read over and over on the Dis about the Dole Whip Floats but honestly we have never tried them, so Tim ordered one (in honor of Bob that passed away from the Podcast ) and he gave it a try:
034640x480.jpg

I tried it too and thought they were amazing. We were both still kind of full from lunch and we let the kids try it and they LOVED it and then fought over it for a while until it was gone. Lauren’s face in this photo just screams out “don’t you dare drink it all Luke!”
035640x480.jpg

Then we headed over to Tomorrowland and I noticed there was a security guy out in front of Hall of Presidents and it looked like they were having a soft opening of some sort so Tim went up to ask the guy:
036640x480.jpg

Turned out the Annual Passholder preview was yesterday, bummer. Oh well, we forged on to Tomorrowland.
037640x480.jpg

We decided to do another first for the trip: Carosel of Progress. I had been on this many times as a child but Tim and the kids had never been.
038640x480.jpg

IT’S A GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL TOMORROW (sing along now)
039640x480.jpg

I couldn’t believe how much Lauren LOVED this ride, she sang out loud and was at the edge of her seat for the entire thing. Luke liked it too. Tim slept through the entire thing, I tried to get a picture of him dozing but with the no flash photography rule I couldn’t get him (shucks!)
As we came out Stich’s celebration was going on – Luke LOVES stitch and was upset we had missed it:
041640x480.jpg

042640x480.jpg

We promised him we would catch it another day (unfortunately AFTER this day it was canceled- AUGH)
Then I saw a dude with a BRAIDED mullet. Oh yeah, business up front and PARTY in the back:
043640x480.jpg

We headed toward the front gate and the Move it Shake it parade was going on, but just like I had my moment of exhaustion at the Test Track line Tim was having his moment and just wanted to go back to the resort to rest, so we headed out.
Luke enjoyed the balcony for a bit:
046640x480.jpg

Tim slept FOREVER, he was so exhausted. Here he is waking up all bright and sunshiny
047640x480.jpg

This was our scheduled date night for our dinner at LeCellier. As Tim got up and got ready I took the kids down to the lobby to pick up our Hoop De Doo Tickets (we had gotten a message from the front desk that they were ready to be picked up), and Tim was going to meet us in the lobby to take the kids down to Simba’s clubhouse before we headed out.
The kids enjoyed learning about animals from the wonderful CMs:
048640x480.jpg

052640x480.jpg

Then she showed them on the map where she was from in Africa:
053640x480.jpg

I took the opportunity to snap some more beautiful lobby shots:
049640x480.jpg

050640x480.jpg

051640x480.jpg

The kids sat down and watched the cartoons in the lobby as I got the Hoop De Doo tickets. When I was in line Luke ran over all excited because he had found a hidden Mickey, he SURE HAD!!!
054640x480.jpg

GOOD FIND LUKE!!!
Tim then met us in the lobby and we headed down to Simba’s Clubhouse to drop off the kids:
055640x480.jpg

Here are a happy Tim and I at the bus stop (I had visions of the mushroom fillet running through my head : )
058640x480.jpg

We stopped to get a photo in front of the park:
059640x480.jpg

Then we headed over to the World Showcase to Canada for our LeCellier dinner. We spotted another turtle in the water along the way:
060640x480.jpg

We arrived at our favorite restaurant:
061640x480.jpg

We went into the lobby to wait. We got there about 10 minutes before our reservation time but still waited about a total of 30 minutes for our table. Here is Tim messing around in the lobby as we waited:
062640x480.jpg

Then we were seated in the center of the dining room. I hate the way they place couples at this restaurant. You are lined up in the center right next to couples on either side – not an idea intimate setting.
063640x480.jpg

CONTINUED IN NEXT POST!

Then I snapped a photo of Tim and he wasn’t ready but it turned into a joke. He said.
“This is me when the restaurant comes out and announces they don’t have any steak”
064640x480.jpg

And THIS is Tim when they come back out and say they were just kidding:
065640x480.jpg

We had an OUSTANDING meal. I didn’t take photo’s because like I said we were crammed next to these other couples and it was just a bit akward (but don’t worry we return to LeCellier later in the meal and I DO take pics then). We both had the incredible potato soup, dipped our yummy pretzel bread in it, Tim enjoyed the regular steak and I had the outstanding mushroom fillet, I could eat that mushroom rice around it all day long. YUM!!!! I also had a glass of wine that was paired with the mushroom fillet with my meal. Then it was desert time.
I told Tim he got the BORING desert (crème brule which he LOVED) and I got the fun one.
BORING:
067640x480.jpg

FUN!!!!!!
066640x480.jpg

After our bellies were QUITE full (the kind of full where you are uncomfortable), we headed out to walk around the World Showcase on this beautiful night. I was too full even to partake in an alcoholic beverage from the World Showcase.
First thing we stumbled upon was British Invasion playing, they SO sound like the Beatles:
068640x480.jpg

Then I took a picture of us walking over the bridge towards France:
069640x480.jpg

Tim in France:
070640x480.jpg

We had never explored the stores in France before, I loved the pretty windows inside:
071640x480.jpg

And Tim was just being plain silly:
072640x480.jpg

I purchased a bottle of wine in France and a shirt that said “I wine a lot, it makes me feel better” : )
Then we continued along our trek and stopped in Morocco to listen to “MOROCKIN IT”
This is Tim’s “M” for Morocco:
073640x480.jpg

Then we headed over to Germany and shopped around in there for a bit.
074640x480.jpg

075640x480.jpg

My sexy German:
077640x480.jpg

Tim’s mom is Ukranian and she makes Ukranian eggs, so we took some photo’s of the eggs on display for her:
078640x480.jpg

Tim found us a perfect bench to sit on:
080640x480.jpg

Now, I need to back up. When we got our bill for LeCellier I was very upset because I noticed we were short like 8 credits. OH NO!!!! What were we going to do. So I was anxious to get back to the resort to settle it because I was picturing the rest of the meals we had planned before we checked into Saratoga Springs and knew in my mind it wasn’t going to work out and I was panicked a bit. We enjoyed our last few moments of our date night together before heading back:
082640x480.jpg

083640x480.jpg

What a BEAUTIFUL Epcot night!!!!
084640x480.jpg

086640x480.jpg

We hopped on the bus and headed back. You ready for some CRAZINESS!?!?! As we are about to pull into the Jambo house our bus stops and says we have to unload here and walk in because the bus in front of us has issues (YEAH, the back of the other bus HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE!!!)
I tried to snap photo’s in the dark.
088640x480.jpg

Here are the gates we had to shimmy through to get back to the resort, CRAZY
089640x480.jpg

Well, we picked up the kids from Simba’s and they had a wonderful time which was great. Tim and the kids ran up to the room to get the mugs to fill up and I headed to the front desk to find out what was up with our dining credits. WELL, what had happened is when I picked up our Hoop De Doo tickets they had taken the 8 credits THEN for them, wish they would have told me that!!! Oh well, so now all of you know (if you didn’t already) when you PICK UP your tickets for a dinner show, that is when the credits are taken from your account, good information to have, right!?! Well I was feeling much better now. I met up with Tim and the kids, we went to Mara to get drinks and let the kids each get a snack and we decided to head out in the dark and find out where the playground was.
090640x480.jpg

Turns out it is tucked back behind the pool and hot tub, so cool!
Our kids had fun playing in the dark for a bit:
091640x480.jpg

093640x480.jpg

CONTINUED IN NEXT POST

Then I got up and decided to explore a bit more, looked over the wall behind me and realized that was Flamingo pond. I was surrounded by dozens of sleeping flamingo’s:
094640x480.jpg

SO COOL!!! Lauren loved it too, Flamingo’s (because they are pink of course) are her favorite animal.
As we were sitting there, Luke decided he wanted a drink of water and went to the water fountain and had this reaction:
096640x480.jpg

We were cracking up, gotta love Florida water (that’s why we ship the bottled water in).
Well, we had experienced another fun filled Disney day and were ready for bed . We headed upstairs and hit the sack.
