I'm so excited that an unexpected trip is in the making for me with son and family. i've been away from the boards for awhile
Any idea what hours will be at the beginning of february?
how long does the 50 year celebration go?
is fast pass gone?
does that half hour early entry make a big difference?
is it worth it to buy hoppers in february?
thanks to anyone who can help me

When are you thinking of going in February? I am going the first week and it's my first time in February.
The hours are normally reduced some but I'm not sure what they normally are.
The 50th celebration is 18 months long.
The new "fastpass" is called Genie+ and it is a paid for service. It hasn't started yet, but should soon.
I think the 30 minute early entry can make a difference if you plan it out strategically. You could easily knock out a few things that have longer waits later in the day.
As for the hoppers, we normally do get them but probably won't this trip. But I may change my mind. I think I am waiting to see what the park hours will be and see if it will be worth it for hubby and me before I decide. I think it depends on what all you want to do and accomplish at each park mixed in with if the park hours make it worth it.

I'm currently planning on going that first week (well, Jan 30-Feb something) and it'll be my first time in Feb. I don't think I've seen hours yet but like someone mentioned, I'm aware they were (historically, at least) shorter than when I usually go (Oct-Dec) and often things are down for refurb. It's not ideal for me - just what I could make work (though the weather is more my speed).

My responses are in bold:

Any idea what hours will be at the beginning of february? Usually shorter, whatever that means these days
how long does the 50 year celebration go? It's lasting 18 months
is fast pass gone? Yes, Genie+ will be replacing it
does that half hour early entry make a big difference? I don't know if we have enough evidence yet
is it worth it to buy hoppers in february? I have them in April, because I can't justify a park reservation on Epcot until it opens at 9 AM every morning
