Been a while - dropping in to say hi!

Hello - It's been a while so I thought I'd pop in and see how everyone on here is doing? Any exciting trips about to happen? For us, we have a trip in the making but it wont happen until later next year, so a bit of a break for us, its killing me really but I have been fortunate enough to have a yearly trip for a few years so a break would be wise! We are doing California Disneyland next year for its 60th Anniversary combined with another Aulani stop over. (Can't just fly over it can I! )Anyway, I hope you have all been well, and enjoying the school holidays

I love the school holidays, though some days the kids do drive me crazy - as I work at a school then I have the same holidays as them, I would enjoy some quiet time but I keep telling myself that I only have another few years and i will be missing this crazy school holiday time, so I try and enjoy every moment I can.

It sounds like such a wonderful holiday to be able to enjoy the 60th anniversary.

I think you'll have a great time next year at the 60th anniversary. There's a lot of talk on the DLR forum about how many rides are scheduled for refurb this year, to get them all up and running smoothly for next year

I am of course going this year, and in September when we can add HM and Space to the list of refurbs for their annual Halloween makeovers I will have my birthday over there though, as well as my first RunDisney event, so no complaints here We're also doing a short road trip while we're there, out to Palm Desert, up to Sequoia National Forest, across to San Luis Obispo, then back down the coast.

We went for the 50th Anniversary - twice in the space of 3 months (the beauty of having a father working for Qantas at the time) and it was fantastic with all the special extras they had for it I always said I'd return for the 60th, it will be my kids first visit to the real Disneyland. They've been to HK twice which was great for their ages at the time but I think they will be at perfect ages to experience and not to mention have enough energy to keep going all day, they'll be 7 & 9 then.

Thats good to know, regarding the refurbishments happening all this year in prep for next year, last thing you want after traveling so far is your favourite ride closed for refurbishment! Soarin' was my favourite and I heard its going all HD now, and a new ending is rumoured. Not sure why they would want a new ending, I quite like it finishing at Disneyland with the fireworks.

I am loving school holidays also. Nothing beats not having to do the school run twice daily, although the 2nd week starts getting hectic. 1st week they're best buddies and it starts wearing thin by the 2nd week - lets not even start with the Xmas 6 week break!!
