Been a long time & need info on Park Dining

Its been ages since I have used the DIS. Planning a trip in July and have a simple question for all you pros!

My father is going with us for the first time to Disney. He is a huge Donald fan and collects items. Hence we want to do a character meal that includes Donald.

The question, (which I should know) lol....do we have to have Theme Park tics to go to the restaurant we want to have the character meal at? I am thinking the Donald breakfast at Animal Kingdom but we are not planning any days there on this trip.

Donald can be found at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Hotel.

yes, you would have to have admission tickets if you were to go to the meal with Donald at AK. But as the previous poster stated, you can usually find Donald at Chef Mickeys!

I hate to be the one to throw a monkey wrench into your plans but I have been to CM a few times when Donald was not there. In fact I have only seen him one time at CM. I'm sorry and hope that I was the one who was there on an off day but I would not want your hopes up and then be disappointed.

When we took my DGD for the first time the only place that Pluto was suppose to be was in AK, and because she loved Pluto more than any other character I booked Donald's. I was able to cancel because Pluto showed up at CM on our first meal but I did like having a back up plan just in case.

Will you have park hoppers? If so, it might be worth doing breakfast at Tusker House in AK just to make sure you get to see Donald. Maybe you could also slip in a safari ride while you are there Then hop over to whichever park you had been planning on for that day.
