bedwetting concerns

We are leaving in the a.m. and I am starting to have some real concerns about my 7 yr DS who has autism. He has recently been having many accidents at night...every night for the past week. I am struggling on what to do at night at the resort. I hate to resort to using a pull-up since that seems that it may cause more harm to the bedwetting issue in the future. In the past at home we have gone to using an alarm which retrains him to get up. We have to get up and help him though. I am afraid I will be doing wet clothes laundry every day. That seems stressful too. Does anyone have any suggestions or experiences to share?

I have a 5 year old who is still a bedwetter, we leave in a week, and he has had 2 or 3 incidents in the last week. He will be sleeping with either myself, dh or my 2 yo dd. I think I am going to take a washable pad to slide underneath him over the sheets just in case and maybe put a towel underneath, worst case scenario I will wash it instead of leaving nasty sheets for housekeeping. He would HATE to wear an overnight pullup.

I think Disney has something - pads or something - for exactly this situation. It's probably in the Guide for Guest with Disabilities, for which I think there's a link in one of the 'sticky' threads at the top of this forum.

You can request a waterproof sheet from housekeeping at your resort (most hotels actually have these). They will also provide an extra set of sheet, so in case there are wet sheets during the night, you can change them right away. Just call Housekeeping when you get to your resort; you won't be the first to have requested them.

I'd probably just use the Goodnights (larger size pull ups). I think that any concerns you have about them would be outweighed by not having wet clothes to deal with.

I have a son (13) who is a cronic bedwetter...It has gotten better now that he is a teen...once every 2-3 weeks instead of every night.

I didn't know about the hotel having bed pads so I just went to the local dollar store and purchased a shower liner. Worked like a charm. I did ask for an extra set of clean sheets and until he was about 10 when we had nights away from home he knew he had to where a goodnights...but even then some nights the sheets needed changing.

My daughter also has problems at night and I usually take plenty of cloth "chucks" like they use in the hospitals. Whenever one gets wet I go to the hotel laundry and wash them ASAP. It is yet another obstacle to deal with but well worth it.

Thanks for the info about the waterproof sheets, I never knew about that!

WDW resorts will supply a plastic undersheet and spare bedlinen on request. You can also buy disposable bed pads with a plastic backing (made by Pampers here in the UK) or use a towel folded double underneath for some protection. There is not much other than pull ups or a pad which will save on laundry.
