Bedtime musical chairs?

So this is our first stay in our dvc. We're in a one bedroom at okw, and our nightly routine has been a little bit ridiculous, does anybody out there do the same thing? What do you do once you're little ones go to sleep. This is what we've been doing...our son goes to sleep early, between 7:00 and 7:30. We first set up his playpen in the bedroom, and he falls asleep. Grizzly and i spend the next 2-3 hours doing whatever out in the living room and kitchen, but when it's time for bed, grizzly refuses to sleep in the same room as DS, so we turn off all the lights, then go pick up his playpen, with DS in it, and shuffle through the dark and plunk it in the living room. We then relocate the video monitor, still in the dark, and then retreat to the bedroom. This just seems so silly to me, what do you guys do?

Have you checked to see if the pac N Play fits in the laundry room? If it does, that would be the best option.

We moved up to the two bedrooms. With our family a good night's sleep for everyone is the most important formula to a happy vacation. We would rather stay fewer nights.

We put the kids to bed in the living room and hung in the master bedroom when they were young. Usually one of us would hang with a book while the other would sneak out to the hottub, then we'd swap.

We are pretty "free range parents" so fairly early (but long after the pack n plays were given to people with younger children), we'd leave the kids in the room with our cell phone number and go to the lounge. Maybe around the time they were eight or so.

I have 4 in my family too and getting a 1 bedroom is not an option. We also own at Orange Lake Country Club and purchased a 3 bedroom.
When we use our DVC, we definately get a 2 bedroom. My kids are older teens and opposite sex but we would still do a 2 bedroom.
If it is possible for you to do so that is what I would suggest.

We've always done 2 br also.

We always just hung in the bedroom and wandered into the kitchen as necessary. We have never been tippy toe quiet with our kids though so they can sleep through noise. Now they are teens and a 1BR is still fine.

It seems to be working for you, so the problem is only in your mind. Go with what works and enjoy!

With 1 in a pack and play I would leave it in the bedroom for the night. When we had 3 and stayed at the cabins we gave the kids the bedroom and we took the murphy bed in the living room. Now with DVC more then 3 people we get a 2 bedroom.

We didn't yet have DVC when our twins were pack & play age, but we did stay at an Embassy Suites for a conference when they were 18 months old or so. For naps, DH would put them down in the bedroom & hang out in the LR/kitchenette area, as the bedroom was in the back and was quieter. At night, we put the pack & plays in the LR, and we hung out in the bedroom. So there was pack & play shuffling, but only while the kids were awake!

My kids are young (5 & 1) and we don't have enough points for a 2 bedroom. So for now we put the kids to sleep in the master and I sleep in there with them. DH takes the sofa bed. It will change when they get older but this works for us for now.

You should let him fall asleep in the living room and then the 2 of you can go do "whatever" in the bedroom!

My eldest was about 10, when we started "free range". I remember that trip well as we went for a drink, DH stopped to get chili dog from the cart on the BW and I headed up to the room. Unfortunately I got stuck in the middle elevator at BWV. Of course DH and the kids just thought I went window shopping. Headed for another drink after my ordeal.

We have always gotten a 2br as the size difference between my boys(5yrs apart) had this irrational fear the younger one would get squished.

The pack-n-play fits wonderfully in the laundry room. Our 18month old has spent many nights sleeping peacefully in there. It's warm, dark and quiet, cant ask for anything better

We put DD to bed in LR area, and hang out in bed room. We go in and out of LR/kit if need be. Put it by the window, and turn down the lights. There is a TV, a giant tub (and bubbles from the dish soap in the kitchen), a cozy bed, lots of stuff to do in the bedroom, while kiddo is falling asleep/sleeping.

I'll 3rd the suggestion to just use the laundry room. It's big, has it's own light and door. That way you can go about the villa as you like after your LO is asleep.

Good to know! We were just going to attempt to sleep with DD in the bedroom (we are staying in a 1 bedroom) in October, but I didn't see that working out to well!
