Beds at Beach Club Villas...

I was in a BC one bedroom Aug 22-23 and my bed was great. The beds at AKL are terrible or my room was last Thanksgiving. I have stayed at 3 DVC's since that stay and all the beds have been better than there. What kind of mattress are they suppose to get?

We just got back on Sunday, & they still have not started to replace them. I had to call down to the front desk to get some padding for the master bed, & they said I was 2 weeks early for the new mattresses. I do not know if they are really about to change them, but that is what they told me. Someone at the pool was saying the same thing, but he said he made them bring him up one of the new mattresses. I do not know if that was really true, but he said he got one. The extra blankets they brought for me did wonders though.

Did they say if they were changing the bed mattresses & the sofabeds?
:wave2: I see your also from LA.

Stayed at BCV 11/5-11/10.
Don't know if the queen was new or not, was definately more comfortable than the old BWV beds were...

The sofa beds had definately not been replaced. I felt bad for my kids 12 & 14. They're not ones to complain, and are used to sofa beds in hotels/resorts, but these were awful.

Well that's not good news. I have to put an 18 year old male who stands 6' 4" on the sofa bed. I think we will have to pack the air mattress that has the pump connected.

What floor were you on. I had heard that they started replacing the sofa beds on the first floor. Maybe they just didn't get to your floor yet. We are staying there next week. I better take the inflatable as well. Thanks for the info.

We were at the BCV from Oct 15-22.. The bed was the WORST bed I have slept on in years. While I was impressed with the room layout and what It COULD offer it was just not what I was expecting at all.

the bed was lumpy - seemed to have ruts in it as if someone slept in the exact same spot on that bed for years.. and we had to allow our daughter to sleep with us because the sofa was so filthy I wouldn't even let anyone sit on it.. When we opened the sofa bed more food fell out of the bed than you could believe.. it was just to nasty .. and stained.

Howver we did not ask to move because the location of our room was just what I need. we covered the sofa in blankets and just couldn't wait to get home to sleep in a decent bed. It did dampen the trip for sure...

Mid Oct.: while it wasn't a heavenly bed, it was adequate...no complaints in that dept.;)

Would you mind telling me what room you were in?
Thanks,

Studio 416. It was right near elevators and directly across from the 4th floor laundry, but was surprisingly quiet. I wish I would have known they had started. I might have asked for a new one, it was that bad. But the kids lived. My son has a bruise on his lower spine from hitting the middle bar when rolling over, but he'll live. :thumbsup2

kutchyone - There is no way a 6 ft. young man would have been comfortable on that sofa bed. Bring the aerobed for sure. I sat at the end of the middle of the sofa bed and ended up with a bruise on my rear, as their was little to no padding by the mattress at the bar running down the middle.

We found DS12 on the bare floor in the morning twice. He's a very sound sleeper, so he doesn't remember if he fell, or if he just rolled away from the discomfort.

I will still say for the queen; nothing could be worse than the rocky board of a bed we slept in 5 years ago at the Boardwalk. It is one of the reasons we haven't returned there. I didn't sleep a wink for 7 nights, although I think they may have replaced those mattresses since..??

Hey Kutchone, I see you are from Twinsburg. We moved to NW Indiana from Aurora, where we've lived for over 12 years. Small world! :wave2:

saschab,

Small world it is. I'm always in Aurora now that they built the new shopping center across from Geauga Lake.

At the risk of sounding like a complete moron... I am not positve what our room number was... geesh... I will dig out the receipts later but I *think* it was room 103. When you walk in the villas take a left and we were the 4th room on the left... I remember that much! LOL

the couch was so nasty I did tell a housekeeper that came around asking if she could look at furnature.. she said theywere going to replace some of the older items that look "worn".... so I pulled my "couch cover" off the sofa and showed her those cushions and she said "oh my".

same reaction I had except at least I did something about it.. they never even offered to clean it up.. crazy. to be perfectly honest.. and I hope this is allowed to even say but it looked like a couple had a really "good time" on that sofa for about a week and then we got that room... not exactly what I want my kids sleeping on... or myself... or my dog... (no I didn't have a dog with me just being mouthy:)_)

honestly though other that the dirty couch and the lumpy bed the room was amazingly nice... the rest of the furnishings were great! I loved having a vaccume and washer and dryer right there... The kitchen and toilet areas were SPOTLESS when we got there.. so it was a nice room.. with a few things that needed help.

Oh no. Heather,I guess I was misinformed about the first floor. No need to dig out your paperwork, I was just hoping that some of the beds were replaced and we would be lucky enough to get a new one.
Better pack my Lysol as well.
I'll be sure to report when we get back on the 28th.
Thanks for the info,
Tina

You know my husband did remind me that the matress was not the issue on the couch.. it was the cushions.. We did pull the bed out at one point and he thinks it WAS a new matress on the sofa bed..

not sure if this is what you mean... ??

Thanks guys, please continue to report, specifically on the sleeper sofas. I appreciate it.

We were there in May and had no difficulty with the beds.

That doesn't answer the question.
No, not precisely...but at least it does add something constructive to the conversation.
