Bedbugs!

I was just on tripadvisor looking at reviews for the Fairfield and there was someone who said they had bedbugs. But then no explanation of what the hotel did to help, nothing further. So, it made me wonder if it was true. The rest of the review was really bad about everything.

So, have there been any reports on the Dis about bedbugs at the Fairfield or any of the other good neighbor hotels?

You know, I hear very mixed reviews and reports of bed bugs for a couple of places I have stayed and found that most of the claims were false.

Also a few people on here say Castle Inn had bed bugs (which makes me nervous because I booked it for next month!) but all the recent reviews on trip advisor had people only saying positive stuff, how clean it was, no bed bugs, etc.
So maybe in the past they had problems but as of now it's all taken care of.

What's the date on the review for Fairfield having bed bugs?

People also exaggerate sometimes. If they experienced one negative thing they will take it to a whole new level just to express their dissatisfaction. I'm not saying that's true for everyone, but there are those people out there that think they deserve to be treated like the Queen!

I have read that Park Vue Inn had bed bugs at one time, but bed bugs (similar to lice) is really a temporary pest that would probably be fixed by the time you ever even thought of staying there. I am certain if the Fairfield ever had bed bugs, they are well taken care of (or sleeping with the fishes).

I agree it is gross and I would probably die a thousand deaths to be anywhere near a bed bug, but this does happen. If you aren't reading a laundry list of reviews reporting constand bed bug habitation, then you are probably safe.

I read that report and it seems like a exaggerated rant. They never said anything beyond "Hello bed bugs" and followed it with comparing the towels to being as effective as drying off with newspaper. (The towels aren't plush. In fact, they are thin when compared to towels at home. But the Fairfield towels are still good.)

;)

Bed Bugs happen-- I do think have to be dealt with as soon as a hotel/motel has been informed. I think it may even be a Health department rule.

Best quests can do is actually ask if there has been an issue with these critters. Now I get to business-- I pull back the sheets and check by shining a flashlight in and around the seams of the mattress. I also check the foundation. Check your towels and such-- those bed bugs like the warm just washed and dried towels and will hitch hike into a room anyway they can.

This happens in top rate hotels to. The bugs dont care what you pay for a room just that it has a nice cozy place for them to hang out.

Yes, that's what made me wonder. If I had bedbugs I would have started the post with that and really expanded on it. it didn't read right to me.

You might want to read up on them they are hard to control unless you catch them early people are going as far as tenting to take care of bad infestations

Also check around the headboard you should put your luggage in the tub and bathroom and work from there they are also making large zip look bags for your items and reccommend you wash all your clothes with warm or hot water as soon as you return home
