Good to know!

It is so weird to wake up to this thread. I posted yesterday about our trip to POFQ. We stayed there over this past weekend. When I woke up Saturday I noticed little bites on the kids legs and arms. I didn't think too much of it. Then Saturday night I remember scratching my arms and legs. On our way home, my sister in law (who had an ajoining room) said, "Hey, do you have little bites on your arms and legs?" She found them on her kids too. At the time I did not think to look for Bed bugs. And by the time she mentioned it we were on our way home. But now I think that is what they were. I mentioned this yesterday in my post and felt like some people did not believe me. One post almost acted defensive saying how much she loves POFQ. I am not trying to change anyone's opinion. I was just stating what happened. I am from South Georgia. Believe me this is a buggy area. But I have never stayed somewhere and woke up with tiny bug bites. I am sure it could happen in any of their resorts with the amount of people that stay there.
A very expensive problem to have from what I understand. Carpets might have to be ripped up and mattresses thrown away. A professional exterminator should be called if you do have this problem.1) But, this is Florida.
2) Bugs are park of the landscape.
(I sincerely hope so..)
Now, i understand it is just another hotel in a sense, and we need to be aware of the situation wherever we stay.. . . You're joking right?? . . . (I sincerely hope so..) . . .
1) Alas, this really IS Florida.
2) Florida has bugs.
3) Disney does a good job, but bugs can't be prevented - even in beds.
4) If they could, that pesticide guy would be famous (and very rich).
(See answer number 1)
That is how your other comment was taken that i quoted you on before. Just b/c any state has bugs, should we learn to live with them in our beds?

Actually the way I took that was.. You can get these anywhere.. and Disney does -- on the whole - a very good job at preventing them from being a widespread (bedspread?) problem at their resorts.

1)I understand it's florida -- but to be honest, what state it is has NOTHING to do with it...![]()
2) Again, i understand Florida has bugs, but i believe.. so does every state.(See answer number 1)
3) That is my point exactly.. That it has nothing to do with WDW being in Florida - that it apparently can happen in hotels ANYWHERE..
4) Yes, he would.![]()
I just didn't understand if you were saying that we should get over it, cuz it is Florida, and Florida as we all know........ has bugs. That is how your other comment was taken that i quoted you on before. Just b/c any state has bugs, should we learn to live with them in our beds?

Uh, I'm talking about bedbugs. Has nothing to do with Florida and the bugs native to that state. Bedbugs are all over the world.

1) I'm afraid Rusty's sense of humor didn't shine thru in that post
2) Normally he's very witty.
3) He's a good guy
4) He meant no ill will
5) Gosh this really *is* fun.
Ok I'll stop that now. But it is fun.

And i never stated that he wasn't a good guy, or that he had ill will.
Even though bed bugs are unplesant and bite the skin and make you itch. I do love the way they taste. I try to find as many as I can and put them in a jar and pick on them on the way home. They almost taste like little pieces of pop corn. Crunch and a little salty.
Hmmm. My mouth is watering.
