Oh I have so many Questions! Exactly what do you have to do to become a DVC member, what are the benefits and where can I go to find all this info on a web page.

You can get some information by clicking on the "DVC FAQs" link at the top of this page.

You can get some direct information from Disney at:
www.dvcmagic.com

You can call 1-800-800-9100 and request the free video and information packet.

If you have some more specific questions, please feel free to ask them here!

Welcome!

Doc makes it sound easy, he makes it sound like almost anyone can join. I don't think that's very nice.

There are entrance examinations, we check references, we don't let just anybody in.

We've been DVC members since 2001. We have added on three times. It was not at all like Richyams described. (maybe they profiled him as someone they didn't want to be in DVC and so therefore made him jump through all the hoops to join)

For us there were only TWO things we had to do:

Sign at the Mickey heads and Date at the palm trees.

Same here, only we joined in March 2002, and just closed on our 3rd add on this past Wednesday. Started with 170 points, now up to 350 a year later, is there no end to this madness???!!!??? I sure hope I "don't" find a cure!!!

From one NCer to another let me welcome you to the Dis forums. WebmasterDoc gave you some real good info on where to start. The DVC folks are real nice to work with and its no pressure at all. The benefits are numerous and many that you ask will be personal benefits because it affects people in so many different ways. In fact I started a thread yesterday, The top 25 reasons we love being in DVC, go to that it will give you some very good personal accounts.
And like Doc says, you will have lots of questions to come so you found the right place to get an answer.

On the contrary, seeing as they let me bring my mother in law, I think they'll take just about anyone assuming the money is there. :p

Starting price from DVC direct is currently $12,600 plus annual dues of about $600 for 150 points. Resales can be less.
