this is agonizing! i interview august 27th and got a email thanking me for interviewing and another 7 days later saying my application is pending a final decision. they said 4 to 6 weeks but people are already getting acceptance letters and they've interviewed around the same time as me. It's been 13 days since i got the pending final decision email. i have a feeling i didnt get in

No! Don't worry, a few ppl have been accepted after the pending letter. I'm not sure of anyone who have been rejected.

And that in turn leaves me for my Disney rally speech. No giving up hope.

I interviewed the 27th and I haven't heard anything besides the thank you. No pending. My girlfriend interviewed the 25th and she got the pending a week later. You're not alone, but we are a minority. It feels like everyone else is getting their final decision, right?

I interviewed on the same date, but all I got was a Thank you for interviewing email, no pending email :-(

I'm going insane here... Wish Disney would just make up their mind already

I've been resisting calling until it hits 7 weeks. I've never heard of anyone waiting longer than that, I think. And if that is the case...I'm more than halfway there. Le sigh.

Well I got a pending email yesterday...Dec 1st! Ahhh. I'm going to call at the normal 6 week mark anyways because I only applied this early so that I could figure out what I am going to be doing come January early so that I can plan things correctly

You do realize that your pending letter is the notification that they give the 4 -6 week time frame on, right?

Now that you have the letter, they told you that you would receive your final notification anytime up to December 1st.

They will let you know soon after they make a decision. They aren't going to be evil and say "We aren't going to tell this pending person when we make a final decision because we want them to worry."

they also aren't going to say, "well because you called, we are we are going to speed everything up for you and only you and make our decision on you before we take care of everyone else."

If you want to drop out of the running, you should definitely call. But other than that, you need to let them do what they need to do. It isn't going to change things. They know you are interested.

Ooooh no I'm sorry to hear. I was rejected last time, so I know how that feels, at least.

I just don't get it. What did I do differently this time? I added more roles. I applied on the first day. I interviewed the first week. I put Custodial in my top 3, not attractions or character performer or any of the popular ones. I was accepted last semester, why not this one? I know I'm just being a crybaby about it but it seems like something is odd about that.

All I wanted to do was work for and live in Disney.

I really want to send them an email saying this but I'm afraid it will hurt my chances of getting in next time. But this will plague my mind otherwise. What should I do?

sorry i didn't mean to be rude. your post came across as if you didn't quite understand that you actually received your notification that they promised in the 4-6 week time frame and i was attempting to clarify that for you. I mean, if you didn't understand, why would you say that you are still going to call at the 6 week mark when they told you that they would let you know between now and december?

could you clarify why you would call at the 6 week mark then? yeah, i know the whole "i gotta make plans" thing. that applies to everyone, though. i dont think there is anyone who gets pending who doesn't want to know so they can make plans one way or the other.

my line of thought that the only people who would call outside of when disney says to contact them would be (a) people who think disney is just sitting on a decision and being mean or (b) people who think that calling will expedite the process for them.

obviously my (a) and (b) doesn't apply to you, so I'm just curious why one would call outside of the times when disney is saying to?

It shouldn't hurt your chances.. I think I would email (or call) and just ask what went wrong and what you could do better for next time when you apply. I think I would probably also throw in there that you were accepted last time, and even added more roles this time. As long as you're not snotty or whiny about it, I can't see why they would look at it as a negative thing.

I think one of the difficult things about their selection process is that the person that interviews you, is not the one that decides if you're in or not. Somethings seems odd about that to me, especially since a written report of what someone says could convey a completely different personality from how the person actually is.

you could ask. it is a fair question. i think you mentioned in a previous post in another thread that you felt you were really nervous. maybe that came through in the way that you answered your questions as not being very confident or unsure of your answers. you'll never know unless you ask, though.
