Beth: More great wagon tips--anything featuring fresh veggies gets my

Even better has been your own eating and meal prep--everything sounds like you're doing well and feeling good about it. That, and the XT/cleaning/yard work, is bound to have lots of good results in term of your WOs & energy levels.
Ouch on the sunburn. I hope it doesn't hurt too much. On the upside, I imagine you and Lisa looking alike now, and that's kind of fun. Big congrats to DS for his 3rd place accomplishment, his BB game/party, and the July regionals.
Lisa: Your neck of the North woods sounds like local-eatery heaven! Even our local stuff needs to be shipped in from a distance, or I have to drive 30-40 miles out to get it.
It sounds like your tough love approach to your DM is exactly what she needs to hear, even if she doesn't think so and it doesn't (initially) appear to be working. It's got to be hard to be her entire emotional support system, which is what it sounds like, and to live so close to her. Me, no solutions. I moved far away from my parents, and with whom I'm all but estranged. (Nothing they did, per se, I'm just a difficult daughter.) So I essentially ran away from home. I can't imagine being a member of the sandwich generation. What about a variation of the Curves idea?
It sounds as if your weekend was as busy and as hot as expected. SO sorry to hear about your raccoon eyes and sunburn. Ouch, ouch, ouch. It's too bad that DD's team lost--loved the hot potato comment--but am glad DD did well. She sounds like a great all-around player. I can't believe you got out there in your garden after a Saturday in the sun. With any luck, your gooey cold/sore throat will pass without further incident, the weather will break tomorrow, and you can get some good biking/running miles in.
Dave: Good news about Erica being back to work, and hope the sore tootsies don't stay that way too long. How's she enjoying the veggie lifestyle? Summertime is a great time for tasty dishes, especially with the fresh fruits and vegetables available.
Your walking has been wonderful recently, with the exception of drivers and dogs, and it sounds like you're really getting a variety of activity in in terms of walking hills, pool work, weight etc. And the value of a well-deserved rest day cannot and should not be overlooked, although I tend to ignore them much to my peril. I need to listen to you--and my body--more often. I really do think that's a way to achieve PRs, push ourselves to the next level, and to help us mark progress. I'm intrigued that your dermatologist said there's no need for sunscreen that early in the a.m. Who would have thought?
Amykab: Ah, the hydration challenge. I think you're doing well on most days, which is good. And as for the days when you need to drink more, you're at least aware of what you need to do. I think it's especially hard in this weather to get enough.Great job with the 3 miles & C25K and your 3 miler--and outside. I'm sweating just thinking about it. And I'm glad you got out for a movie with DH, and the Indy Jones blockbuster at that! Movies are one of my all-time favorite activities--haven't met a genre I didn't like. Finally, big

on fitting into pre-pg size, clearance jeans and your capris and shorts. Life is sweet on such days.
Wendy:
for your streak of exercise and eating making these things a habit. I know that internal motivation is a good thing but you know, I'll take external motivators like dr.'s appointment or races or new clothes if that's what it takes to get back in a habit. And since you know meeting with your doctor works for you, I'd say there's more than a little bit of internal motivation going on--you're just using those appointments to help nudge you.
Vic: Wow, you've been racking up the minutes and miles in the Africa Heat. I hope you're out there early or doing your WOs in cool indoor conditions. I can't believe you're still interviewing applicants. Maybe if you switched the requirements to warm, breathing bodies?
Connie: IT guys. I love them, most of the time. But there is that odd tendency they have (in general, so apologies to anyone who works in IT or has a loved one who does) to treat everyone outside their department like Luddites. Problems are never due to the technology or software, it's always the users. Oh, and congrats on your upcoming 10K; I loved that you said it was "only" a 10K and more of a fundraiser than a race. I hope to get to that level of confidence and comfort with events. How is your DD doing, btw, as well as everyone else? Good news, I assume, if she's going home so soon.
Stacie: I'm glad you had a great time at Jimmy Buffet, not that I had any doubts about that. And if there's anyone to see in sweltering heat, it's him. And that's great news about raising money for the RftC. No pressure + voluntary donations = warm, fuzzy feelings and predicts a fun event for you.
How did your doctor's appointment go?
Maria: Once again, happy birthday! How's it feel to be entering the glamorous new decade of your 40s? I agree with you about eating healthy, but think we she tell people that we get to treat ourselves to the good stuff, like fresh fruits and veggies. Nothing's too good for us, right?
As for me: Sorry I was MIA this weekend. I tried to get through all the unpacking and setting up the household on the weekend, so that I can get on with my month. It didn't quite work out the way I wanted to, as it was just too darn hot. The up side is that I'm about 60% through, and have gotten the big furniture set up and the heavy boxes unloaded. I've also rearranged our storage locker about 3 times, which I'm now thinking of as Lisa's mode of unpacking.
Eating this weekend has not been stellar. Not horrible, but not very conscientious. Yes, I've defaulted to take-out and microwave food. To my credit, it's been fairly healthy stuff from Whole Foods or Trader Joe's, featuring salads or sandwiches (my single-girl foods of choice). But that kind of life is expensive and it's just not the same as making my own meals. So yesterday I made a massive grocery list and stocked up on my favorite hot-weather fare. No more excuses.
I've also been a weather wimp out and going to the gym for all my WOs, including running. I'm okay with that right now, as I rationalize I'm spending a lot of time these days indoors and sweating. (One small air conditioner unit, which just takes the edge off the heat without really cooling much.) Still, I see all my new neighbors, including many early a.m. runners, and I think to myself that I just need to man up. Maybe Wednesday, my next running day. If not, at least I know I'll be running after taking most of last week off due to the move. I have so much respect for you warm-weather folks--I don't see how you do it year round.
