Beth: Would you come over to my house and do the sue clean for me? Better yet, have Sue come to my house and let her clean it for me.
I thought yesterday's wagon tip was profound...so many people are spectators and not participants in life. I'm so glad we're all working on participating and have each other to cheer for and we all to cheer each other on. Yay for conquering the late-night cravings!
Maria: It sounds like you're off to a good start, and I think those regular, instance-by-instance moments of control DO make a difference. I meant to mention this to you, but do you know that Johanna, our Ohana teammate, is getting on the WW wagon? Oh, and re your statement to Wendy: 1) I don't think where you're at is child's play for most WISHers, not at all; and 2) remember you're not a "porch sitter"!
Dave: You know we love our panda hugs, right? But we totally understand the priorities, and training comes first. I want to hear (and hopefully see) you've taken it to a new level with your training AND with your events. And given your progress I think that's definitely happening. I loved the pics of your town, especially of the Capitol building. Is it still a working theater?
Tracey: Almost done, huh? I'm living single in a one-bedroom. Me, two cats, and lots of boxes. Plenty of room for an organizer. Hint, hint.
Thanks for the kind and optimistic description of me moving bikes as a duathlon; if it had been event, not only would I have been DLF, I would have been the person who waved the medic van ahead of me. Oh, and boo hiss for you being MIA while on vacation. But you'll have to tell me all about Myrtle Beach; it's an extended family vacation every other year, and I hear good things about it. (Never been, but we're so much closer now that it might be feasible--of course, it's on DOOD's side of the family....)
Lisa: Thanks for the goal idea and congrats on your setting high standards for yourself & already achieving success! I'm really making an effort with the sleep, which is affecting my online time. But I'm sure it'll be good for me. Ouch about your broken heel courtesy of the ex-heel. (Your phrase "charming sot" made me giggle, though. Love the language.) About agave. How does its flavor compare with honey, if you can describe it? I use honey as my sweetener now, and like it, but was thinking of experimenting.
Yay for remaining snark-free despite not getting your regular amount of XT in. That must have been a good field trip! (I used to love them, but I've never gone as a responsible adult.) It sounds like your weekend is jam-packed--how do you work out the scheduling?
Cindy: Rubber stamping?? That's the one thing I can say I like to do and aren't completely uncoordinated at! I don't rubber stamp a lot, or make my own, but DOOD and I do make our holiday cards. It's relaxing. Congratulations on your 4 days and counting, plus the tempo run. And in a downpour. Yep, you claim the insider, "I'm a runner" cred.
I hope today went well, as being tired would really undermine me (hence my goal this month).
Amykab: WTG with the hydration. Keep posting on that one, as it's something I need to watch constantly and love it when other people keep it at the forefront of my mind. Keep me posted on C25K, too, as I'm using a variant of that to work on speed. (I'm repeating W3, too, as moving interrupted my plans.) Aw, your DD's language acquisition skills sound so cute. I'm glad she's feeling better and that she considers the family dog a member of the family!!
Stacie: When the doctor said you wouldn't have a long running career, he meant distance? (Versus you won't be able to run over a period of years?) It sounds like there's a lot of positive actions coming out of the appointment. I'm not sure how I would feel about the brace, maybe like a cyborg (which would be so COOL
). And the PT should give you some good strategies. Enjoy your Jimmy Buffet concert and have a margarita in my honor! (You pay, though.)
As for me: As with everyone else, it's "Hot in Herre." Today I moved the bikes, ala the running/biking plan. Hooboy. I won't go into details, except to say I had to do it during the day, when it was already hot, so as to not disturb my soon-to-be former landlady. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I had plenty of water, but my fingers still did that annoying swelling thing they did during the Goofy. Anyway, the bikes are moved and I counted that as today's WO. I wasn't impressed with my time, but I was impressed that I was able to pick up DOOD's bike and carry it up and down the stairs to my new building. (I couldn't with mine--turns out his bike is considerably lighter than mine.)
As for the wagon, I'm still on it--although I had a bagel and PB from Einstein's today in between the two bike transfers. Tomorrow I'll do better because it's the last day at the old apartment and I'll be fully settling in here. The real unpacking commences, grocery shopping and regular routines resumes, and I'll hook up the DVD player for my exercise WOs.
That is, unless I decide to hang out at my very air-conditioned gym (vs. the non-air conditioned apartment). Oh, and I got my sleep in last night, but I'm not sure it was great quality. Heat, you know? But I'm making the effort. That counts, right?
P.S. I also need to update the Lean Meaner index, with the tips and Vic's PB recipe, and will get to that this weekend.
