Bridesmaid Gifts

I finally compiled all of the stuff i'm giving to my bridesmaids, and thought I'd share! Here's a shot of all the stuff that they will be getting:

They are each getting a tote bag with their names, a tank top that says "bridesmaid" or "maid of honor," a book with a fairy tale, a bracelet, a shot glass, a tea cup with an assortment of tea, a spa bag, and a metal sign about friendship or family. Here are some close ups of a few items:

Oooh I love your bridesmaid gifts! They're very cute. :D

And you're SO close!!! You must be SO excited, Becky!!!! (*I'm* excited for you!)

Also: a few stationery items I was working on. I made the thank you cards for my bridal party, to thank them for their support and for being a part of my day:

Each of them has a different glittery princess sticker! Here's another one:

I also made the rehearsal dinner invites, which look like this:

And one other random thing to share. We had gotten a carriage to hold cards on the wedding day, but it was a dark brown/black color, so we spray painted it white. Here's what it ended up looking like after we finished:

So we are now just 11 days from the wedding!! I almost can't believe it - I'm not sure when it will kick in and finally feel like it's real. I'm getting rather nervous though.

This weekend I went out to PA and brought a bunch of stuff to move in to the apartment. Even though Jason has been "living" there for over a month, he really hadn't unpacked any of our boxes or set anything up. He said he wanted to wait for me so he didn't do anything wrong and so I could have everything where I wanted it. :goodvibes I am happy about that, but I know that it means there will be a TON of work when we get back from the honeymoon. We are really on our own for the first time, so we have to buy a ton of furniture too. I'm pretty sure we'll do IKEA since it's cheap, but it means more work putting everything together too! But I did get to unpack and set up pretty much all of the kitchen stuff, so at least that's one room done!

Place Cards

Yesterday I printed and made all of the place cards. I originally wanted to do something fun and creative, but with less than two weeks left I don't really have time for that. So I just found a template on the Martha Stewart Weddings website and used that. I'm still planning to do little books for the escort cards, but haven't quite finished that yet. Anyway, here's the placecards:

Ohhh I am in LOVE with those princess stickers, Becky! Where did you get them?!

I also think the place cards look very nice! I don't think you needed any more than that anyway. :D

Also--- YOU'RE ELEVEN DAYS AWAY!!!!!!!!! I am -so- excited to read about your wedding and for you to get MARRIED!

Ah, Becky, I can't believe you are so, so close! Eep! I can only imagine how you're feeling!

The placecards look great! It's crunch time, ya gotta do what ya gotta do! =]

Thanks! My mom actually got the stickers - I think they may have showed up in my Christmas stocking last year? But if I had to guess I think they might have been from AC Moore!

I know!! Ack I'm actually getting so nervous now and I didn't think that I would be!

On another note, this is my 1,000th post! Woohoo, monumental event on the DIS! :woohoo:

you are so close!!! you'll be married before you know it!! :yay:

I know!! But right now I can't even think about the wedding with all of this hurricane stuff going down. I really hope it's not as bad as they say, but I'm still nervous :sad2:

So I figured I'd post since our power is "most likely" going to go out this weekend. That is what our town congress person (whatever he is) said on the automated message left on our answering machine. I'm trying ton convince myself that it's not going to be as bad as they are making it out to be, but I'm still ridiculously nervous about this hurricane. :sad2: We live about two miles from the water so flooding is a major concern: the ordered an evacuation of everyone in our town south of the highway - we are about .2 of a mile north of it, so we just barely get to stay in our house. It's just scary. :scared:

And DF and friends planned the bachelor party for this weekend. They're in PA and it's not as bad there, but I'm still a little worried because they are driving up to the Poconos on Saturday afternoon and are planning to drive back Sunday afternoon, when it's still supposed to be pretty windy and rainy. So I'm just hoping that either the storm calms down or they cancel the party. I don't want DF to miss it but I'm really worried about him and hate being so far away from him for stuff like this.

But anyway, enough about this! Just keep us in your thoughts and hope everything is fine. On to some wedding stuff:

Programs

Got around to making our programs! These are actually more like inserts, because we have the church providing a bulletin with all of the actual events of the ceremony. So we made these just to list the bridal party and song selections. Here it is:

P1000045.jpg

We were originally going to put wooden dowels on them to make them really look like scrolls, but... too much work! :rotfl: So I just rolled them up and tied them with Happily Ever After ribbon:

P1000048.jpg

And then put them all in a basket!

More in the next post, I just want to split them up to make it easier to index on my first page :)

Ring Bearer Pillows

I made two ring bearer pillows for my cousin to use. Both look like this:

P1000056.jpg

I also put tassels on the end to give them that "Cinderella slipper pillow" feel to them:

Cake Topper

And finally, I don't remember if I shared a picture of my cake topper! It's nothing too special or unique - in fact, if you've been wedding shopping in the craft stores or party stores then chances are you might have seen it before! But here it is:

BECKY!!! OMG!!! YOU ARE SO CLOSE!!!

:goodvibes :scared1: :woohoo: :yay: :dance3:

Probably all the emotions you are feeling right now!!

First off :hug: Hurricanes can be scary for sure... especially since you don't get them that often! I have been through several and this one even jilted my nerves a little bit- but just keep up with the news and see exactly what they are saying- the hardest thing is just waiting it out! They are forecasting still some damaging storm surge and some winds, but it wasn't nearly as bad as they predicted! But still be safe!! I am sure Jason will be ok! Hugs again until he comes home safe!!

Awww! I would love to get a new place and start a new life together and buy all new stuff!! How exciting!! :goodvibes The kitchen is the most essential, so good job setting that up first!! And too cute about DF wanting to wait for you!

I love your Thank you cards!! Which reminds me I need to make some of those for my Groomsman gifts!! :scared1:

Everything is coming out so nicely!! I love those pillows! They look so royal!! And even though your place cards and programs weren't what you wanted originally, they came out very nice and fit in very nicely with your theme!!

Can't wait until you are a MRS!! Keep us updated!!

Eeekkk you are so close!!!! I can't imagine how excited you are! (And, hey, you get to go to Walt Disney World soon too!!!!!)

I like the pillows a lot! And the cake topper is very cute. :D

Also--- I hope you guys are all right! A lot of friends of mine back home in CT are freaking out too.:grouphug: My suggestion is just stay away from the news--- they ALWAYS freak people out! Good luck, and stay safe.

I know, 1 week away!! I am definitely feeling all those emotions and more! Yeah the biggest worry around here with the hurricane is the flooding - we are about 2 miles from the water. But I suppose the worst that would happen would be that our basement might flood. I was storing some wedding stuff down there but I moved everything up last night!

I'm glad you liked the pillows, I was a little worried about making them myself but I think they came out okay! When I asked my cousins to be ring bearers I had to explain what that meant, and I told them that they would carry a ring on a pillow. And one of them said to me, "Can I use my Toy Story pillow?" :rotfl: He thought he actually had to bring the pillow that he sleeps on at night ;)

Eeekkk you are so close!!!! I can't imagine how excited you are! (And, hey, you get to go to Walt Disney World soon too!!!!!)

I know, I'm excited and nervous! I really didn't think I would be very nervous but now I am! Trying to stay away from the news - it's hard because everyone posts ridiculous stuff on facebook  I did watch some TV this morning and they broadcast someone's wedding in NJ - it was supposed to be a beach wedding but they did it inside! I feel soooo bad for anyone with a wedding this weekend around here. You're almost forced to cancel it or else just get married and know that almost no one is going to risk driving out to be with you.

Also -- some good news is that Jason and his friends decided to postpone the bachelor party. Which is smart and a good idea! I don't mind that they have it after the wedding. After all, they're really just going to go play video games and drink, so he might as well go do it in a month when he actually needs a little break from me :rotfl2:
