Centerpieces

So I have kind of been posting bits and pieces of my centerpieces, but I was finally able to do mock ups and take pictures of everything that I have! So here are the plans for the centerpieces. I have 12 tables, each one named after a different fairy tale. I think I'll post the first 6 for now and post the rest later!

Yay! Your centerpieces look adorable! I really love the way they're turning out. I esp love the Little Mermaid and Snow White one!!=]

I LOVE your centerpieces. LOVE them. But, I think my favorite are Snow White and Cinderella. I can't wait to see the rest!

All right, here are the rest of the centerpieces - keep in mind that some of them are not quite finished yet!!

The Princess and the Pea

On a side note, anyone else surprised they haven't turned this fairy tale into a Disney movie yet? I would think they'd do it in the future, except I've heard rumors that they're going to try and give the princesses a break for a little while. Still, the original story is so bare bones that they would have a lot of ground room to add their own twists and story lines.

For the centerpiece, I still need to cover those wooden blocks with fabric and stuffing so they look like mattresses!

Alice in Wonderland

Aladdin

Still looking for a little carpet to go with this one. I think I'll have to go to the craft store and get a doll house sized one!

Peter Pan

I still have to paint the pirate ship, and I'm going to put glitter in that glass jar and label it "pixie dust."

Little Red Riding Hood

Going to get some fake fruit and food to put in and around the basket.

The Frog Prince

Love the centerpieces, especially the Snow White one! The little well is adorable!

Oohhh I LOVE the frog prince one. But, really, I love them ALL!

Thank you! You have no idea how much time and effort wonderful DF put into making that wishing well. It was a paper model that we printed from a website, and I honestly didn't think it would take that long, but he spent hours putting it together. Such a sweetheart  I'm glad the effort was worth it!!

Flowers

So originally I was thinking I would order flowers wholesale off the internet and put the bouquets together myself. I've done it with fake flowers before and didn't think it would be too bad... but after really thinking about it I decided that I just didn't need the stress! I'm not sure what i was thinking. So my mom, being awesome, contacted the flower house in our town, which does weddings, and arranged an appointment. :worship: And they were wonderful there. Totally got my style, no pressure for anything.

The one thing I really wanted was blue roses, and even though they don't really occur naturally, she said they could spray ivory ones blue. So I'm getting that :cool1:

For my bouquet, I will have blue roses, ivory roses, and a darker blue flower for filler (and I simply can't remember the name of this flower!) Here is a picture of the samples she gave us:

Jason's boutinere will have a blue rose with the dark blue flower underneath it.

Then the girls will all have ivory roses with the same filler flower but in a light blue, like this:

Also, you can see the silver ribbon in the background of this picture, which is what she'll be using to match the silver in our color scheme :goodvibes The groomsmen and best man will have the same bout's with the ivory rose and light blue flower. The ring bearers will have ones with mini roses.

Amazingly, this only cost me slightly more than what I was planning to spend to do it myself, and it takes SO much stress off! :woohoo: I don't know what I was thinking, but I was in crazy money saving mode...

Oohhh the blue roses are SO pretty. (They don't occur naturally? What's up with that. Maybe we should go into the Blue Flower Business...)

And I'm SO glad you decided not to do your own flowers. I'm sure you would have done a great job, but that sounds like SO much work!

OMG Becky, I love your centerpieces!!! They are so unique. You did an excellent job!!!

I am so glad that you had fun on your family vacation. HP world looks awesome.

So glad you had a good time at the shower and I love those dishes!!!

I can't believe how close you are!!! You must be so excited!!

Thanks Jackie! I know I can always count on you to comment on my PJ, it makes me happy :goodvibes And yeah, I didn't really know that about blue roses... apparently there is one kind that grows naturally but it's really more of a purple color. And a lot of places that dye roses blue put the dye through the stems, so if you cut the stem you could have blue dye leaking out - not what you want with a wedding dress! :scared1: So the place that I went to sprays just the petals with a spray, she even did it right there for us so we could see how it looked.

Thanks so much! I think planning the centerpieces was one of the most fun things I did with planning my wedding. And I know - I'm just about a month away now! It's still really hard to believe it's happening that soon...

Hello dear! I just read your quest and it's SO cute. Good for you. I wanted to let you know that there are some animated movie's that missing from your list, notably Pete's Dragon. (Figment's cousin maybe?) I found a complete list here:
http://www.disneymovieslist.com/animated-disney-movies.asp

but to be honest, I love the live-action movies. Like the Swiss family Roberstons, Apple Dumpling Gang and the Three Musketeers. Maybe a quest to take on in the first year of marriage?

As far as where to get them, do you have a blockbuster or netflix account? If not, consider asking for it as a wedding gift. I think a one year membership is like $200.

Oh! and I love your centerpieces. Well done.

i love the frog prince!!!

i loved the muppet version the best... but everyone around here is probably to young to remember it!! i'm an old lady when it comes to early 80's muppet movies, lol.
