Beauty on a Budget, any tips?

I thought we could all share some skin and beauty tips. I think it would be helpful to share your age-range and skin type.

I am 30 and have dry skin.

I recently bought myself the Olay Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System and I love it! I feel like I have smaller pores since I started using the brush.

I also began using a mixture of 3 parts baking soda to 1 part water to exfoliate with the Olay brush 2 to 3 times a week and I love the feeling of my skin.

For a night moisturizer, I am using extra virgin coconut oil. It is also GREAT as an eye make-up remover. I've been reading about and after time it should also help with small lines around the eyes. It is like $20 for a small jar but a little goes A LONG WAY. I am warning you that when you put it on at night it feels really oily but it will absorb and you will feel great in the morning.

I also used revlon frost and glow for hair highlights for the first time recently and I will be using it again. It does take some time to prepare your hair since you have to use a small tool to pull strands through a cap to highlight, but at $8 a box, it was worth the time.

I am looking for a day moisturizer that doesn't feel sticky and sit on my skin. I feel like a lot of grocery store items don't absorb easily.

So, who is next?

I like Boots moisturizer from Target. I also like Aveeno spf 15 daily moisturizer in the summer as I think it's pretty light and not greasy on my face. The Aveeno also has a generic which I can buy at Walgreens or Walmart and is even cheaper.

I have senstive skin and use the Target brand of Olay of Oil face lotion. I use it both morning and night. Its about $5.00 a bottle now.

FYI: Coconut oil should only cost about $7.99 for a large jar. I have bought it at GNC ($9.99) and Whole Foods ($7.99). I also just saw it at Stop & Shop in the organic department.

I've been allergic to many lipsticks and glosses. I tried Elf lip gloss, from Target, for all of $1. I love it. It isn't overly sticky and lasts as long as any other when on. I think there's less in the tube but that's ok, I never seem to finish up any lipstick or gloss. I figure it is more sanitary to replace more often anyhow.

Wow, are you referring to e.l.f. lip gloss? If so, cool, I didn't know Target carried it. I usually order it - I don't like anything else from that site, but the lip gloss in a tube is great and only a buck. Goes on very smooth, moisturizing, and stays on for a while.

I love Aldi's Lacura face care line. Especially the mature skin moisturizer. Fantastic and cheap! I used to use Olay Regenerist, but I like this much more. My skin looks great. Of course the least expensive skin care tips of all are to drink lots of water and eat a healthy diet with lots of veggies. Your skin will be radiant!

Avon's Therapeutic Cracked Heel Relief Cream (or some name like that) is great and also very inexpensive. I also use it on my hands in winter.

I also tried Master Drama eyeliner by Maybelline. So far I like it. I find it goes on nice and smooth and lasts well. It says it's smudge-proof and waterproof I can't wait to test it out.

OP, where do you buy the coconut oil?

I have a constant battle with dry cracking heals and I make my own foot scrub with Epson salt and baby oil. I have been looking for some vitamin E oil, but I have not been able to find it at Wal-mart/Kroger. Do I need to go to a drug store or a specialty store?

I am 40 with very dry skin. I use Mary Kay skin care products except for their eye cream. A couple of years ago I made the mistake of buying a container of eye cream from my dermatologist since he was having a sale and it was only $45.. It was AMAZING and I have not found anything like it, but I cannot justify $90 for eye cream! I do not care for the Mary Kay eye cream. My eyes definitely have a bit more than fine lines.

I have very dry, sensitive skin and I use Aquaphor lotion on it. It feels a little greasy at first, but it feels so good. I even use it on my lips. I usually put it on and then wait a little bit and then dab my face with a towel. It only takes a very tiny amount.

I like E.L.F. products. Target and my local Kmart sells them. They dont sell everything on the website and Kmart sells more of the $3.00 than the $1.00 cosmetics. The ELF lid primer is good and I recently ordered the face primer $6.00 per bottle and I love it! The ELF website last week had free shipper for all order over $25.... That's a lot of stuff!

Have you tried Sally's for the coconut oil?

I just bought a bottle of Nutragena face lotion since it was on sale at Walgreens....I like it but it seems the same as target store brand.
Also I like to go to walgreens and just walk down the comestic aisle and look for the orange clearance tags. I have bought some great make-up at cheap prices (but then I cant find it anymore)

I'm using a Neutrogena SPF 50 moisturizer and it's so heavy and sticky, it even leaves me with a ghost face if I use too much.

Any moisturizer with SPF recommendations for oily skin? I live in Miami so it needs to be light because it's too hot to wear something heavy.

I am obsessed with natural skin care. Here are a few of my favorites.

I'm also a coconut oil fan! It works wonders as a makeup remover, hair conditioner, and skin moisturizer! You can also mix in baking soda for an awesome hand, foot, and body scrub!

Another little gem I recently stumbled upon was using honey as a facial cleanser. Yes honey. So far so good. My face was misbehaving pretty badly, and after one use I am amazed at the difference.

Apple Cider Vinegar is awesome as a clarifying hair rinse that also helps moisturize hair. You can also dilute it in water and use it as a skin toner.

Baking Soda is a really good facial scrub.
