Beauty and The Beast - The Musical

i went to see it last year in southend, i wasnt as impressed as i thought i'd be. think i kept comparing it to the flawless productions that disney do, plus we seemed to have a VERY camp beast!

I went to see it last year also in Wolverhampton, won 4 tickets priced at £45 each!! I thought it was nice, but probably wouldn't have paid to see it. I thought it was very familiar with the one at WDW.

We went to see it in Bristol 2 years ago and we weren't that impressed - the theatre itself was atrocious which didn't help. Compared to the Lion King in London and even the shows in the parks, it seemed to lack Disney magic. It also seemed to steer away from the Disney story at times :(

Went to see it at Edinburgh. It was nowhere as good as being in Florida seeing it though. It did give me a quick Disney fix though. I thought Lumiere was fantastic in it though and he was by far the best performer. DD was confused and pointed out that Belle was not the same one from Disneyworld, lol

lol -- I dont think it was the actors it was more the production liked that Disney in your face WOW factor. Its hard with a touring show that you have to fit into any theatre and carry all your contraptions etc etc to make it have the west end feel.

Who does your friend play?

The girl that played Belle gave a really proffessional performance but the cast seemed to struggle through the first half and then get their second wind for the second. There was this guy playing the "cheese grater" and I couldnt take my eyes off him, he was so damn grumpy at times it was hilarious.

I found the beast hard work; when there were comedy moments it was nice but I didnt feel as though I was behind his struggle.

Gaston was very OTT but very good and very entertaining.

LOVED the wardrobe, she had a small part but stole the show for me

Mrs Potts was lovely too
I did enjoy the show and I was glad that I had seen it but I was expecting to be blown away and just.....well wasnt

Just wanted to add that this has had an excellent review in the local paper today. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I'll let you know my thoughts on Sunday. We love the show at MGM so am sure they will be positive. :goodvibes

Well, we saw this today and thought it was awesome. :thumbsup2 All the cast were excellent and it was lovely to hear some new songs as well as the old favourites.

We have seen it sooo many times! going again in October in Liverpool.

Best one was in New York, took my wife to see her fav Donny Osmond playing Gaston, last October. She got to meet him also outside the stage door.

Her dream fulfilled!
