Does anyone know when the Beauty and the Beast DVD will be released again? It's my all time favorite Disney movie and I have it on VHS. I'm watching it now with my DD4. I love it. BUt I need it on DVD.
TIA for any information if anyone has any clue!!

Omg, I've been trying to find this dang DVD forever!! It came out on Disney DVD in like 2003, I think. And I'm sure they're going to rerelease it, but I don't know when.

I suggest you buy it off Amazon instead of ebay. My poor DBF bought it off ebay for me (it's my favorite!) for my birthday and I think it was a bootleg. It runs fine, but it's not the *real* DVD.

I'm pretty sure it comes out in 2010. I read somewhere last year that Sleeping Beauty would be out in 2008, and then Beauty and The Beast would be out in 2010. I would suggest ebay or amazon to buy one before that. But me personally, my DD4 just watches the VHS version for now. HTH!

Thanks! Sleeping Beauty comes out like Oct. 7th. I might try to make our VHS last til the new DVD comes out. Hopefully 2010 will come fast if that's when they will release it!

2002 was when they last released it on DVD. We know that Pinochio(never been released on 2 disc DVD) is coming next March or so and Fantasia/Fantasia 2000 is rumored to be next October's release.

Disney hasn't announced when it's coming out of the vault, but my guess is 2010 or 2011. I think they'll release Snow White before Beauty and the Beast.

While it hasnt been officially announced on when it will be released, when each movie is put in the vault, they are released once up to every 10 years. For exapmle, as PP mention, Pinocchio will be released in 2009, its last release was 1999. When Cinderella was released, it had been 10 years since it was last released. If I remember right off the top of my head, Beauty and the Beast was last released in 2002, which means we may not see them again until 2012. Although with Sleeping Beauty coming out this year already (its been about 5 years since released), you never really know. Snow White was last released in 2001, so we may see her before we see Belle.

HTH!!

Sleeping Beauty's release timing may come down to anniversary. 2004 was the 45th anniversary of the film and 2009 is the 50th anniversary. I believe the 50th anniversary of the film is why they're releasing it now, plus if you want to get technical, the 2003 release was not a platinum release(though it received the platinum treatment). They're calling the 2008 release a platinum release.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a 2011 release on Beauty and the Beast for the 20th anniversary of the film.

Yay for Sleeping Beauty coming out on Blu-Ray!

I can't wait for them to release Beauty and the Beast on Blu-Ray!

Ahh Beauty and the Beast...
My favorite Princess movie of all time  ...
...It's alright for me to have a favorite Princess movie, right?

I asked for the Special Edition Beauty and the Best DVD last year for Christmas, and a family member told me a CM told them it was "in the vault." I found it on eBay for slightly higher than I think it will be on sale for eventually. I didn't buy it though. I think I am going to hold out until Disney re-releases it again.

But eBay does have it now...

We bought a Japenese version on ebay. DD was born in 2001. We have been looking for it on DVD since before that time and it has not been available since 2001. We found it on ebay in 2003 in the Japenese version with the English option. It was about $30. I know that's high but at the time we were desparate since she wore out our VHS!

I wouldn't be surprised to see a 2011 release on Beauty and the Beast for the 20th anniversary of the film.

Oh lord, this makes me feel old.:rotfl: 20th anniversary. I remember going to the theater to see it(fell in love with it then too). when did I get so old?:confused3

I knew there was a reason I bought them on DVD before I had kids, lol. I'm excited about Pinnochio and Sleeping Beauty, since those are two we don't have (well on VHS we do).
