Beautiful Creatures......the movie

I read Beautiful Creatures last year or so and i Loved it. Now i find out that there is going to be a movie in 2013!!!

Anybody else read the book?

I'm listening to the audiobooks and I"m almost done with the first one. I'm so hooked! I love it even more than the Hunger Games and I'm so excited for the movie!

I have never heard of the book but the movie trailer looked very good.

my DD has the book, trying to decide whether or not to read it, especially before I know who is cast - like to picture it in my own mind first!

Doesn't look like something I would want to see or want my kids to see. If it is just magic like Harry Potter fine, but that looked satanic. Hard to tell by what little I saw on the trailer. What exactly is it about?

I'm only on the first one, but it's about a young girl with magical powers. At age 16 it's a tradition to declare whether those powers will be used for good or evil. Her family was cursed a century ago and therefore cannot chose- they are "claimed" by either the dark or light side on their sixteenth birthdays. She meets a boy who tries to save her from the dark side by breaking the curse. So far I wouldn't say it's any darker than HP and there's been no mention of either God or Satan. I'm really enjoying it.

Its a bit like Twilight....
It's very good read. I enjoyed both books.
