Bears in AK?

It dawned on me last week, after a trip to AK, that they didn't have any bears in the park. At least I didn't see any. Now it had been two years since my last visit to AK so maybe I forgot them being there. They have all the big animals, lions, tigers, hippos, rhinos, etc., but no bears. Did I miss something? Or does anyone know why they have no bears? I'm just curious. Thanks.

I don't remember seeing bears either. Don't know why though--anyone??

Not too many bears in Africa, mostly North America, Asia (should they get some for the ASIA section of AK???? - pandas, maybe).

You have a point about Africa, but Asia has many different bears. They say at the park that each continent is represented. Perhaps one day each continent will get it's own area in the park.

Well, there are some bears ....... Koda, Kenai, Pooh Bear, Brer Bear, and Baloo!!!! OK OK, you meant real bears - that is interesting that there are none!
