I have read somewhere that the troops give beanies to the kids in Iraq. They are small enough for them to carry with them. I have a large amount of beanies that I would love to donate to them, just not sure how to go about it. Does anyone know?

I'm not sure if it's still up and going but off the top of my head I know a website called beaniesforbaghdad.com

It used to have a POC that you could mail a box of toys. Also, I think that your local firefighters might take them. I know that some give them out as a comfort when they have to respond to an emergency.

You could also try donating to a local hospital ICU. I read an article about hospitals using beanies because they are so soft and can hug the body...they use them to prop up tubing and so forth.

Thanks I will look up that site. I have already donated a bunch to the sheriff's office when I lived in Florida and I called a hospital and they said they couldn't use them, sanitation reasons.
