Has anyone activated one of these "buy one year AP get one year free with Bealls code" 2-yr APs yet? Just wondering a few things, as I'm new to AP at US/IOA:

1) Ok, show receipt or not? It says on the Univ. site you must show a valid receipt for the 2 years. They seem so adamant on their site! Do I need to hit a Bealls on my way into town?

2) How long should I expect it to take to pick up tix at kiosk and then activate an AP? I bought DH and 3 kids tix as "kiosk pick-up" many months ago. Is this a fairly fast thing? Can it be done prior to park opening, or is it done only once the gates are "open" ? (what are the kiosk operational hours?)

3) Is it worth it to at least have the AP in hand when we arrive, or should I just save my $15 bucks for shipping and do all my tix at the kiosk, since I already have 4 waiting there for me as it is?

Any help you can give is greatly appreciated! :goodvibes

I would like to know this also. Are they asking to see the Beals receipt when you pick up the annual pass at Guest Services?

Is Universal ok with ordering online if you don't live by a Beals? They must know the code has hit the internet by now. But I don't want to purchase if Universal hasn't tacitly approved internet sales.

1. No. See my post above.

2. I picked up an electronic ticket at the kiosk within a few hours. Can't give you the minimum time it was ready, but bring your receipt just in case. Lets just go with the window of the kiosk is open when the ticket windows are open.

3. No. Pickup the ticket at the kiosk (I never see long lines there) and enter the gate and go to vacation services at your leisure. If you are afraid of losing your ticket, get it out of the way first thing in the morning. You might save yourself a few minutes at the kiosk if you pay to have the tickets shipped.

Ejnoy!

I'm a bit fuzzy - can you pls clarify:

Sorry - I'm just trying to figure out how much time to estimate for the whole ticket scenario. TImes like this, wish I had opted for mail service, but it wasn't offered for the other tix I bought, and I think I'm too close to departure (2 wks) to attempt it for the AP.

And sorry about the repeat request - search was down then and seems to be down now - or at least, it keeps timing out and giving an error message. I had read through another lengthy post on the Bealls offer, but the debate of "receipt or no receipt" was never fully reconciled - was hoping to find someone who lived outside Fla who had used the code sans a receipt and had no issues with redeeming it for an AP, just for my personal comfort level, I guess!

Thanks again!

the code is just a code. it can be used by anyone outside of Florida, no one is going to check for a Beall's receipt.

we bought our first AP's with a Florida code and we lived in the midwest at the time.

How much is an AP renewal generally? We are heading down in October and I think our passes will be expired then. I am trying to figure out whether it's a better deal to renew or buy new with the bealls code. We currently have 1 preferred and 3 power passes. Any thoughts? We don't all need the preferred pass since we don't go in the summer, but 2 years is tempting!

The renewal for both the Power passes and the Preferred annual pass are $99 plus tax which is about $106 total for each pass.

OK, guys, not to dispute what you are saying - everyone here (probably including our pet guinea pig) has more knowledge of US/IOA in their pinkies than this Disneyphile has after 6 mos of being glued to this computer...

BUT...

On another site I frequent, someone there said that every member of their family was asked to produce a Beall's receipt and Fla ID. Even her 2 teens, who used their Fla. school IDs since they don't yet drive.

Now, in my case, I would have bought the AP with or without the extra year....so long as they don't throw me in a dungeon somewhere dank and dark, I'm ok with whatever ticket fate the Universal Gods That Be should toss my way - be it 1 yr or two. But I also admit it, I'm human - I would reallllllllly like to have that extra-year privvy!

Is it possible they are cracking down on a discovered loophole? Was this a random "check"? What are the odds of this happening again?

Sorry to belabor this whole thing.... I sorta feel like I'm in college again, trying to figure out which 7-11 won't card me....

you don't need the receipt. you're going to go to the E-ticket kiosk, enter your confirmation code and swipe your credit card. it'll print out your vouchers to enter either park. you'll need to visit vacation services before you leave that park to process your AP's.

the thought of kids having to produce ID's is absolutely ridiculous. what's even more ridiculous is that you were told every member of the party had to produce a receipt.

our daughter is turning 13 and has never been carded at WDW. UO, SW, or BG for opening or renewing any of our AP's.

The only time you need a Beall's receipt is if you are purchasing the 2 year pass at the ticket booths or at Guest Services or Vacation Services. if you order online, you are simply picking up your pass which you have already paid for at the kiosk. Even if the kiosk doesn't work for some reason, you will just go to the Guest Service window and they will pull up your order and print out your ticket for you. You will not have to show a receipt for an online order period.

You will have to show a receipt if you are purchasing at the gate but not if you are picking up an order. You do not have to have Florida ID. Several people from the UK have ordered the two year pass with no problem whatsoever.

What's even more unbelievable is that you can purchase up to 6 annual passes with one receipt. Universal does not have FL annual passes like Disney. Anyone can purchase a Preferred Annual Pass or a Power Pass whether they live in FL or not. Disney does have a Season pass for FL residents but Universal does not.

I went ahead and purchased 3 2yr PAP with the Bealls06 code last Saturday. However, tonight I noticed that the language has been changed and it now states that the promotion is for Flordia Residents only.

Has me a little worried and my wife is a little pissed at me now. AAA South members have a similar deal through July 31. 2yr PAP for $174.95 --- now I'm worried that the additional year won't be honored and that I could have had it since I'm a AAA member.

I wonder if I call in if they'll cancel/refund the tickets and let me go through AAA to get the deal that expires on Monday.

Thoughts?

We arrive Wed, Aug 9.

I made print outs of the Annual Pass Ticket Options and the Ticket Restrictions before I placed my order. I've compared them to what is on the site now and nothing was previously said about Florida residency or checking ID at the gates.

Using Yahoo & Googles cached/archived searchs, I found the previous version of the pages I'm referring to. I don't know how long these archived versions will be available.

Yahoo Archive of Annual Pass Ticket Options

Google Archive of Ticket Details / Restrictions

Anyway, I called the 407 number for the online ticket customer service. The lady seemed surprised I was able to get my tickets shipped to a non-Florida address since it was the Bealls promotion, but she said I would still get the 2yr ugrade. I also called the 888 PASS 4 FUN number to ask about all this. The lady said no one would ask to see ID at the gates and I wouldn't be hasseled about the 2yr upgrade.

I think I'm well armed since I have the original printouts that don't mention the new/updated restrictions. Hopefully between the printouts, AAA promotion and dumb luck, I'll get the 2yr PAP.

As I said before, if you pick up from the kiosk there is no one to ask for ID. You just print off your pass and go to Vacation services and get your picture taken. If you order and have it mailed to you, there is no one at your mailbox to check ID. The only time you might be asked for ID is if you purchase at the ticket booths and not online.

Even if the kiosk pick up messes up and you have to pick it up at Guest services, they just print out your order. You only have to have photo ID to prove it is indeed your order but it does not have to be FL ID. I have personally seen 2 year passes processed from the UK this week.

I personally take what is said at the online customer service line with a grain of salt. The AP hotline and Guest Services will give you correct information.
