Beak and Barrel Seating Experiences

I just wanted to keep mine, didn't even think about getting a 2nd! I for sure should have done that in the Haunted Mansion parlor on the Treasure because those mugs are very unique.

I have a few HM ones from WDW & DL Trader Sam's ~ my kitchen is HM so they sit on top of my cabinets. Yes, you could have EASILY sold them for nice profit since harder to get. DS just sold DL Madame Leota we got last year and he said he made a decent profit.

Just looked Beak's Pirate is selling for $75-100.

Plenty of other places to sit in the park. That's not what Oga's is for.

I'm not sure how you might define what Oga's is for, but I think if you need a reservation, they assign you a "space", and you have a dedicated server – you should get a seat!

If they want to operate like a nightclub/bar, then don't have reservations and allow people to sit/stand where they want and order from the bar.

To be honest I haven’t looked at all the you tube videos- so here is my probably stupid question. If you have a party of 9 where 5 are kids ages 3 to 9, does Beak and Barrel have only high top tables like at Oga’s? That’s always the problem with Oga’s if we are at a table there is no place for kid to sit or they aren’t tall enough see the top of the table and we only got a booth 1 time. Any idea of where a group of 9 with mostly kids would end up at?

Being reported they no longer will accept ADR for parties larger than 8 do to difficulty accommodating.

- They don't want folks lingering over a single drink
- They want more turnover aka more profits
- They know lots of folks want in, this gives them better odds
- They want to avoid drunk guests going back in to the park at MK

Disney is a different animal, for anything popular you need reservations no matter the style. If they didn't require reservations and folks to leave we'd have some that sit there all day while their party enjoys the parks. These are highly themed bars aka very popular = both reservations and time limits are necessary. The only other option is you have to queue outside just like an attraction and only go in when someone comes out. Doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

I get that the reservations and servers are there to keep people moving and not just parking. We've all seen this before like at Satu'li Canteen. I'm glad they use reservations and I appreciate knowing that I have a set time to arrive and experience any of these locations. I hate that they don't take them at Trader Sam's.

My "hot take" (though I didn't expect it to be one, honestly) is that they should have stools at the bar or around the community tables.

Im here right now. On a solo trip. ADR at 11:20 during MNSSHP. I watched the 11:15 Boo to You parade, and was 20 minutes late. They still let me and I was brought in immediately. I was given a standing spot at the back of the main room. I requested the main room. My hip is hurting and I asked if I could sit on a stool at the other back section, as there was a solo seat at the end. She brought the bar stool.over for me, which was really kind.

I was here 2 nights ago, and sat in the back room, whixh I didn't care for. The CMs are great at staying in character

I don’t doubt you at all. People camp out 2-3 hours for parades and fireworks spots, so I know they can also do that at this type of place. It just is kind of tacky is my opinion and makes it seem factory like. Thankfully that type of behavior isn’t coming for any of the other dinning as it would be painful to have a time limit for character dinning, would be unpleasant.

Dining uses buffets or pre-fix for the same reason, people going in and taking up a table while ordering only a drink or a cupcake, which is fine unless done in mass which with how expensive a Disney trip is...that's typically what happens.

I went twice last week as a solo guest. The first time, I was given a stool seat at the counter along the wall near the front door. The second time, I was given my own table for two at the very back of the back room--comfortable, but without a good view. But that was an ADR time just before closing at MNSSHP, so the place was much less crowded.

So there is hope for getting a seat and not having to stand, even for solo travelers.

both times requested a seat

informed it would take longer to be seated & it did

you can ck in 20 min prior to ADR

1st time took another 40 min to be seated. we sat on stools at a booth, where party of six soon seated. they gave us silent treatment when we said hello & complained we were at 'their table' to server. she just laughed and told them we were all crew. Awkward much? lol

2nd time much better, only 15 min longer to be seated at long communal table in main room.

note they were setting parties of 2 across from each other. no problem, we got a fun bunch for that sailing

I'm referring to any popular dining, instead of capping time they put a minimum spend in place via flat buffet pricing or a pre-fixe menu such as Be Our Guest, Space 220, Crystal Palace, Cinderella's Royal Table, California Grill, Garden Grill, 1900 Park Fare, etc.

They would most certainly accommodate you. Since each table is restricted to 45 minutes apparently, the wait for any specific table won’t exceed that unless another party is waiting for a specific table which is unlikely. Just stop by the desk before your reservation and tell them. Disney doesn’t want young children to be placed in a compromising position/table (or lack of table) either.

We we’re a group of 7 with a person in a scooter and a 4 year old and they put us at a standing table, despite me noting both restrictions and asking for a table and being willing to wait. They said if I rejected the table, I’d have to go to the standby line. I am hoping that this place is more accommodating since it’s in MK and it sounds like maybe it is?

Solo went twice. First time asked for a seat, got a bar seat at the back of the main room. It was fine, standing at the main bar looked more fun. Second time I didn’t make a request and I ended up standing in the map room. That sucked, I’m not gonna lie. Couples and solos were in there. There was 1 cool thing that happened there. Anything else you need to have the gumption to walk out into the main room to watch*

They did offer that but my mom wasn’t very comfortable with navigating it in the tight quarters and also the table was high enough that she wouldn’t have been able to reach when seated. I believe I was asked if she could transfer in the check in screen, and she is, so I answered affirmatively and their solution was to provide a high stool just for her.

It was workable but obviously not ideal bc she felt like she was sticking out. And really no solution for the four year old but I get that they seem to be trying to discourage families from going to Oga’s. I was just making the point that I’m not sure this new place would be accommodating of kids and other safety issues just because it’s Disney.

It seems like a situation Disney should figure out a solution for instead of acting passively aggressively like it seems like they did towards you. Not sure having a 4 year old stand at a bar is a good idea. I know most parents would revolt and allow their kids to run around

Just checking back in to share our experience last week! We had reservations on Thursday, checked in 10 or 15mins before our reservation time. I asked if we could stand, rather than be seated. (Our kids had been there a few days before us, and pointed out that DH and I don't mind sitting at bars in other places, so maybe we'd be more comfortable with that). They said that was no problem.

So here is where it gets disappointing. We didn't get called until 20mins after our scheduled reservation time. They did put us at the counter that runs along the wall in the middle of the room, on the large room side. I actually really liked that spot as we could see everything. However, no one came to take our drink order for 15 mins! With a 45 min limit, this really wasn't right. Anyway, he came, took our orders, and came back in about five minutes. We had only had about two sips each and he was back asking if we were ready to order our second drink. Um, no. We said we'd just be having the one. He did come back with the check pretty quick.

All in all it was fun, though we were unhappy with all the delays. We have another reservation next month that we are gonna keep, and just hope we caught this on a bad night. We are starting to think we are cursed with these kinds of bars, we had similar problems with Geo82 in August lol!

We also had a 20ish minute wait after our reservation time and at least a ten minute wait before our pirate server appeared. The 4-yo with us wanted water - he doesn’t drink soda, and our waiter kept listing things and asking if he was sure he didn’t want a more pirate-y drink. The 4yo got really nervous, like he had done something wrong. We kept telling him that water was fine. In the waiter’s defense, I think he thought he was being funny (or helpful?), but it kind of dampened the mood of our group. We’re not overly excited to return.
