Beaches and Cream Question

I think we're planning a Beaches and Cream break on our Epcot day. Should we make a reservation or will going to the walk-up counter be sufficient?

Depends on what you want. Do you want what's available from the walk up counter (scoops of ice cream or milkshakes) or do you want to eat there? If you want to eat a meal then you'll need a reservation.

You essentially MUST have a reservation to sit down and order off the menu. I think the line only has ice cream now...

Was there in February. For walk-ups, you can get ice cream/desserts only. You'll need a reservation if you want to eat the food. If you're going just for dessert, consider Ample Hills Creamery on the Boardwalk. You can also grab a hot dog or slice of pizza for a quick meal, just a few doors down from the pizza window.

I have seen walk-ups get seated, though it is risky, and it was always filling in empty counter seats, so group size can be a factor here. For ice cream only you can carry-out. If going in summer, it will melt quickly!

It's very small, so I agree with above posts that ADR is a must for seating. I also agree with @SaintsManiac that you're far better off with Ice cream in France. B&C is just grocery-store Edy's.

But the "Kitchen Sink" is truly a MUST DO once in a lifetime, imo.

To each their own, but I'm not really into the whole "eating for sport" thing. I'd rather have a little really, really good ice cream than a mountain of Edy's and the subsequent dehydration and blood sugar explosion, lol.

Agree with France or another great choice is Ample Hills at the Boardwalk.

Someone can correct me here, but I believe some options are not available at the walk up ice cream counter, I thought the No Way Jose was one of them and also the Kitchen Sink, although I feel like there may sell you the mini option of it at the walk up?
That being said and having eaten ice cream there, I agree with Pumbaa, the Fountain is real good, and no doubt the other options people are saying are for ice cream. But since its so small for seating, if you know that that is somewhere you want to have a meal, I would get an ADR.

You are correct. Not all ice cream options are available at the takeout window. DD and I witnessed a very awkward encounter last year. There was a family, I assume mom, dad and 2 teens and mom was insisting they should be able to order the kitchen sink at the window since there was no availability inside. Mom would not give up trying to "coerse" the cm. A manager was called outside and they spoke for at least 5 minutes in the corner. Apparently the manager did not give in because they ended up with 4 seperate sundaes. The poor kids looked mortified. I believe I was not able to get the No Way Jose but was able to get the mini version.......which was much more reasonable diet wise

If you can't get in to B&C, consider going to Dolphin Fountain instead. The burgers there are better than B&C, plus they have lots of other good choices. They also have a wonderful ice cream selection.
