Beaches and Cream question

We have never been to Beaches and Cream before. Thinking about our day at Disney Hollywood Studios and going to Fantasmic. We were going to eat dinner at 50's Prime Time at 4:30. But now I am thinking of taking the time and going to Beaches and Cream instead. Is it worthwhile to go over there and then go back for Fantasmic? Or would you just stay in the park for the day?

Also, the other option I am thinking of is changing our ressie at 50's for lunchtime - just to have a more relaxing meal. Then we can have counter service later just before or just after the show - IF we are hungry again....

Since you can not make ADR's for Beaches & Cream, unless you plan at least a 3 hour window I personally would advise against planning to eat dinner there & head back to HS to see Fantasmic. You will have at least a 20 minute boat ride each way between HS & the YC&BC dock and the walk to & from each to factor in. Depending on when you arrive at B & C you could be waiting over an hour just to get a table. If you have a large party the wait could be much longer. This of course is my personal opinion. It is much easier to get in if you plan to arrive when they open for lunch.

I personally think Beaches and Cream is too out of the way. I would advice staying at Hollywood Studios and having a nice relaxing dinner at 50's, take your time and relax. Then, head to Fantasmic.

I do not feel B&C is worth the extra travel time and hassle unless you are staying at Beach Club.

Thank you - that is exactly what I needed to know. We will wait until our next trip to try it. We will be staying at Boardwalk in March - that might work out better.

In the past I would have 100% recommended Beaches and Cream. The last couple of times we were there, however, the food just wasn't as good as it used to be. It is now off of our must-do list.

OP, I would go with the Prime Time for lunch and something quick for dinner. I just don't think B&C is worth the time it takes to get over there, the potential (probable) wait you will have and the time to get back to the park.

Thank you. I would like to try it sometime, but doesn't seem worth the time for this trip. Plus we are a large group 8 people - might be better when we have a smaller number of people to go there.

I would do lunch at 50's prime time then you could always go to beaches and cream after fantastic for ice cream (not sure how late they are open?) we did lunch at 50s on our DHS day and it was a nice break, we didn't have the most into-it server, which was a bummer, because we took my mom and her boyfriend who would have LOVED one of the over-the-top servers, but it was still nice. We had dinner at Kouzinna that night and would up lazing around the Boardwalk instead of making it back for Fantasmic (partially my fault for scheduling dinner too late, partially mid-vacation-break-time, plus we were staying at BWV so it was easy to just stay there and have a lazy night). We did realize you can see part of wishes from the BW though, which was awesome!

This whole rethinking of my plan for the day was because I thought it wouldn't be a relaxing dinner before Fantasmic. So, I think it is better for us to have our larger meal at lunch - that way it will be more relaxing - at least for me. We have friends traveling with us and they are looking to me to make all of the plans. Which I have happily done - I just hope that they like everything I picked for us to do!:)

That is a good idea! We might do that - go for ice cream there. We are getting the dining plan. So, my thought now is 50's for lunch and IF we are hungry for dinner before Fantasmic - the kids want to go to Pizza Planet. If we do all that we probably won't be up for ice cream after the show. But, who knows we have three growing boys with us....The other family that is traveling with us has never been to Disney before so I have a feeling we won't be lazing around much. They will want to take in everything possible because they probably won't be back again for many year. We are fortunate to be DVC owners - so we know we will be back. ;)

I agree that Beaches and Cream would be great - but for your BoardWalk stay. Its just that the wait time is really unpredictable. We got there 10 minutes after it opened for lunch and had to wait 45 minutes for a party of 4 (just missed the first round of tables getting seated I suppose). We were happy once we got our No Way Jose though :) I suggest going at an "off" time like 2 or 3. By the time we finished our lunch there were many empty tables. Have fun!!

I agree with staying in HS and doing the ADR for lunch. Much more enjoyable and relaxing especially if you are doing Fantasmic that night. Have a great trip!

Thanks!!! I think so too. It's just that we usually use all of our table service meals for dinner, but I think this will be the best option for the day.

My daughter have always wanted to try Beaches and Cream so I think you are right when we are staying at BW it will probably be a lot easier to pop over and look for an opening.
