We're staying at the YC in September and on our departure day (Wednesday), we're not going to any parks, just packing and doing a little pool time. I was wondering what kind of wait we can expect if we want to have lunch around 12:30. We would be departing immediately after that, hopefully on a full tummy. I'm trying to "time" when I should go over to put our names down. :goodvibes

Not sure how much this is going to help you...

Each time we go, we try to get there as close to 11 (when they open) as possible. We never have a problem getting a seat, BUT, we do notice that the place fills up pretty quickly. It isn't very big at all, so my advice would be to get there as quickly as you can.

This.

We always stay at the Beach Club and prime meal times (so, around 12:30 for example) are mobbed.

With the place only having 10 tables and being located right by the pool, it doesn't take much for the line to back up.

Forget about 12:30 and get there at 11am opening....you'll be seated very quickly.

We stopped at B&C just for ice cream around 3pm and the place was full with a bit of a wait. Sounds like it's crowded all the time after opening. You can just walk up for ice cream though.

They have a takeout area for simple ice cream treats and bars/shkes.None of the signature sundaes /food is available

Thanks! It sounds like I need to go back to the drawing board. I currently have an ADR for Cape May that morning, so an 11:00 am lunch won't work as we won't be hungry yet and I certainly want the kids to eat a full lunch before we get on the road. I wish Kouzzina would be open for lunch, my problem would be solved! ;)

I can also extend my 4-day tickets to 5-days so we can eat at Epcot. I just think that if we go to Epcot, it'll be really hard to get the kids to leave and I don't want to end the vacation with a huge argument.

well if you get to beaches and cream and its mobbed you can always hit up Hurricane Hannah's, Its just as decent food as Beaches. OR go even better and walk over to the boardwalk and have lunch and a beer at Big River

Have you considered having lunch at ESPN Club? We have done that on departure day and had no wait around 1:00 pm.

Thank you - we're now considering Big River Grille and ESPN Club. I will look through those menus and see what is most appealing. Seems like a good back up plan to BnC.

We go every trip and get there around 10:45...we're usually first (and got to be family of the day once!!) It fills up by 11:30 and is on a wait when we leave. You could probably put your name in at 12 and be ok...but sounds like ESPN might be a better idea so you won't have to worry so much about timing.

Sorry to hijack- if we will be in EP that day, will we be allowed to walk through WS at 10:30am (before it opens) to use the walkway to get to the boardwalk/beach club area so we can eat at Beaches and Cream??

That part of the WS is always open. The part that is rope off is over the bridge, going to France (or Mexico on the other side). No problem getting to BC/BW. HTH.
