Just got back 12-9 to 12/12 and sorry to report that BAC is closed for renovations, the CM did not know when it would be opened again

Yes, but Hurricane Hannah's and the Yacht Club table service are picking up the slack - serving burgers, fries, and ice cream until 11 PM.

Oh dear, I hope they open up again by Jan 5-12. I've been planning to go there for lunch one day during Epcot. :guilty:

Maybe B&C closed to train people how to make a malt. I was touring our hotel after the kids went to sleep, picked up a chocolate malt to go, took 2 sips and into the garbage it went. it was just terrible!

They might want to train one of the waitresses in customer service while they're at it. And if you think the malt was bad, don't try the burgers. Sorry, I used to have such fond memories of Beaches N Cream. Our last visit a few weeks ago, changed all that. The burger was one of the worst I've had in all of WDW. The service was terrible and inefficient. Our waitress was very impolite. I left there feeling very let down. We always try to make a nostalgic stop there. I will never go out of my way to visit Beaches N Cream again.

Me too, (Jan 4th to 11th, but close enough.)

We love Beaches and Cream. We have ate there at least 20 times over the years and never had a bad meal. Many times we have Darlene for a waitress and we LOVE her! I even have a picture with her in it from like 8 years ago and she was pregnant then. :flower:

We ate there a number of times in March 2005 (stayed at BCV) and once May 2005 and had great food.

Does anyone know when they are reopening?

I don't care if the wait service never even speaks to me, but I cannot go without a No Way Jose for the week I'm there in mid January!

I agree about the No Way Jose. Awesome!! But the burgers are awful. They are like soy burgers or something. Some kind of pressed meat. Yuk! After our last meal there we have removed B&C from out must do list, unless we just go for ice cream!

I hope they re~open soon, was looking foward to trying them for the first time!!

Yeah, I have only ever had the turkey sandwich there and I didn't think that was so great either.....it's all about the ice cream as far as we're concerned! :cool1:

As far as ice cream goes, Beaches and Cream is at best ....adequate. If you want to reach absolute Heaven in that category, you have to travel about 900 miles north to Herrell's in Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA.

Long before places like Cold Stone Creamery, there was Steve Herrell.

Way back in 1973, he literally invented the entire superpremium ice cream category, building his own ice cream freezer (since the generic ones available at the time weren't capable of handling high butterfat cream or producing smooth enough product).

He also was the inventor of the custom "smoosh-in." Decades ago, his customers were the to first select their favorite ice cream flavor, then choose from a variety of ingredients such as M&M’s, fruits, nuts, and many others, which are mixed into the ice cream by hand on a slab of cooled marble (not merely sprinkled on top). Enthralled ice cream lovers watched in anticipation while a skilled staff mixed up a customer’s own personal creation from almost infinite possibilities.

Ah, if only Disney contracted Steve to set up a Herrell's at WDW.....

I asked allearsnet.com about Beaches & Cream being closed and this was their reply:

I just spoke with the Beach Club and Beaches & Cream was closed from Dec 6 thru Dec 12, but they re-opened on December 13. We don't have any information about any closure in January at this time.

Hope this helps! Last time we were there we had the footlong chili cheese dog and it was great!
