We tried Vero for a few nights last summer after a week at Disney. Beautiful resort but VERRRRY quiet. We enjoyed having the down time but BOY does that town roll up the streets at 9:00 every night.

We typically try to enjoy every minute of our days out by the pool or on the beach, coming in around 6:00 or so to shower for dinner. Good luck finding a place to eat after 8:00! We were only there 3 nights but we pretty much closed up Squid Lips one night (the sun was setting while we ate and we were seriously just about the only ones left there). Everything is a drive. We liked it but felt 3 or 4 nights would be plenty of time there.
We're trying HHI this summer and I am hoping we find a little more going on. It looks like it's a much bigger beach at least. I am a bit wary about it not being ON the beach...but since we'll be driving down it shouldn't be a problem if we find the walk too much, we'll just drive since it sounds like there must be parking at the Beach House. I am glad there's a pool & snack bar place AT the beach.
Off topic - I have a question tho about HHI...we just got a studio (normally we're OK in studios when at Disney 'cuz we're never in the room so I hope we'll be OK here). Anyway, are there coffee tables in the studios at HHI? I know that's an ammenity that can be hit & miss with studios. I already know the bathroom counter space is non-existent at HHI so am planning on bringing my over-the-door shoe holder that I use for cruises...but we do like the coffee tables so I'm hoping for one...if not I might bring a TV tray table...
