Heading to the beach next week...what kind of snacks do you pack? (looking for some new ideas!)

grapes, watermelon slices, cherries, apples, cheese sticks, crackers, frozen gogurts.

I have lots of photos of my little guy with a strawberry stuck on each finger:lovestruc. Tortillas with veggies, meat and cheese rolled up. Huge pickles! Sugar cookies. Watermelon wedges.

Does anyone else remember reading a thread like this a couple of years ago? Didn't somebody suggest some strange things like yogurt or pudding? They were totally serious too. :lmao:

I would like a cooler with some ripe, fresh fruit, sandwiches, chips, cheese and crackers would be really good.

Homemade foie gras served with Carr's water crackers, capers and cornichons

Freeze some water bottles & Capri Sun juices and they will keep your stuff cold through a good part of the day, lots of bags of chips & fruit in ziplocks so when the kids reach in they won't ruin everything with sand.... that's the worst. I like applesauce in the small packages, bag of carrots with the small Ranch dressing cups and sandwiches, lots of sandwiches, I usually make cold cuts for lunch and have chicken cutlet ones for dinner.

Have a fantastic time, which beach are you visiting?

Heidict, wouldn't those little cups of pre-made pudding & Gogurts be fine? Why wouldn't you bring them along? I guess it depends on the kids

We take grapes, watermelon, apples, strawberries, single serving bags of chips, sandwiches, cookies, crackers and cheese, water and juice.

Have a great time!!

Trail mix, pretzels, popcorn, fresh fruit, granola bars, raw veggies and dip, mini bagel sandwiches, frozen yogurt.

I'm going to Spring Lake NJ with my "BFF" on Saturday for the day (girls only...woo hoo!) and then we are leaving for Rehoboth next week with the fam.

Vodka and a watermelon. Cut a hole in the watermelon, drain out any water, replace with vodka. Can't beat that.

Also, chips, sandwiches, pretzels, sodas, water...

Yeah, they probably would be fine, but I remember something weird being talked about once. Someone was going to bring something totally stupid to the beach and for the life of me, I can't remember what it was. I even thought about it last night while trying to go to sleep. :rotfl:

I just remember it being something you had to eat with a spoon and was just so totally out there and inappropriate to bring to a beach to eat. Most people that responded thought it was crazy.

We usually freeze water and some flavored drinks. WE also like grapes, watermelon chunks, chips or something else crunchy. I make sandwiches and usually have some sort of granola bar. When I was dieting I made a huge salad topped with cooked chicken, popped it into two disposable plastic containers, added a small plastic of dressing and DD and I enjoyed that. We just tossed what was left.

I don't bring cookies etc, we get an ice cream after lunch and call that the sweet.

What is wrong with those?

We usually bring cheese, fruit, crackers

I make cheese dogs and my popcorn snack mix which consists of microwave popcorn, crunch n munch, bugles (generally cheese ones) and skittles. :goodvibes

We also freeze Walmart carbonated flavored waters and put them in the cooler. Much more refreshing than sodas!

Yeah, as I said in the last post, it isn't really that strange. I was just trying to remember what a poster posted a couple of years ago. She was going to bring something really weird with her. For the life of me, I can't remember what it was, I just remembered that it required a spoon and that it was not something anyone would ever eat on a beach.

Wasn't it soup or something?
