Beach Club Waitlist Probability?

We are planning a trip to WDW the week before Columbus day this year from Sept 30 through Oct 8 with 3 kids. What we were wanting to do is stay at the Poly our first night to see the MNSSHP fireworks (got it), check into Beach Club from the 1-7, and then the Wilderness Lodge the 8th. During the stay at BC, we are going to get a dining plan (ran the numbers and it is a better option than TIW or OOP).

We have booked the 1st at Beach Club, waitlisting the 2nd (a Sunday), and then the rest of the week we are there is open. We have a one night reservation at Boardwalk for that Sunday but don't really want to check in and out several times and that would mean 3 dining plans. What are the odds of us getting that one night at Beach Club? I know it is during F & W, so I'm sure it will book quickly, but how often do those rooms come back open?

Our other option is to stay at AKL in a Savanna room. We really wanted to try Beach Club, but if it isn't likely to get the waitlist, then we will switch.

Sounds like a BCV studio? For that weekend, your odds are pretty bad.

BCV and VWL are in the middle of construction/refurbishment that will last all year so the inventory availability isn't normal as guest move to other resorts.

So would you say there is hope for the one night waitlist?

One night has a better chance than several nights and VWL is really tore up so most don't want to stay there. IMO your chances are good.

Same at BCV but no major construction to the grounds, they are closing off rooms in groups.

I wasn't really worried about the one night at VWL but wondering if we will be able to get a Sunday night waitlist at BCV. I find it strange that it's the Sunday night not the Saturday night that is sold out.

For a 1BR, I think the odds are a lot better at BCV, because they do have both dedicated and lock-offs. Studios are always a struggle, but 1BR is generally much easier to book.

Some members don't want to book the weekend nights as they take more points than the weekdays.

That is a good point. We have all of our other days at BC (booked the rest this morning), so just going to wait to see if the waitlist comes through. My question now is, how long do we wait? If we can't get the second night, we would prefer to switch completely over to AKL Kidani to a 1 bedroom savannah view. How long do we wait for the waitlist before there is no room elsewhere?

Wow...tough to say. It is an extremely popular time of the year at BC with food and wine. We had a wait list clear for a Saturday night after waiting only about two weeks (lost track and forgot to book our last weekend in October) and that was a studio. Depends on whether you would be willing to change rooms again. I might grab the one night that is available or perhaps the first two and then wait list both nights at BCV. That way at least you have a home without checking in and out three times.

Thanks! We have Oct 1 reserved with a BCV 1 bedroom and waitlisted for a 1 bedroom at BWV and for Oct 2, we have a 1 bedroom booked at BWV and a waitlist for a 1 bedroom at BCV. Hopefully the BCV will come through so we only have to move once, but if the BWV waitlist comes through, it would save us from having to go back and forth every night for 4 nights. We have resigned ourselves to moving so if one comes through, it will just be a bonus. Also if it doesn't come through, we are going to do the DxDDP for the first and 3rd night and just do all of our sit down meals at the start of the trip.
