beach club vs yacht club

Wow! thanks for all the great tips and info! :worship: I did call yesterdayto the BC, and added a request for a full size balcony if possible with a king bed. I was reading that they have "king sico rooms", which do not sound good at all. We
booked a standard room/view. These are regular, not sico rooms, right? Should I fax/phone a couple days before we go (May 10) to reconfirm our room requests? Again, you guys are great! :disrocks:

Bugsy, I put a link in my reply to Jennifer. This particular site also has the room layouts for the Beach Club. You might want to check it out http://www.disneyzone.net/bcresort.htm. I haven't stayed here, but if it's anything like the YC, I would request a room in the back of the building just so you're not overlooking the parking lot. It seems like the rooms around the quiet pool might be in a nice area. Specifically room #'s 1523, 1525, 1527 (1st floor), 2523, 2525, 2527 (2nd floor) and even numbers 1512-1530 (1st floor), 2512-2530 (2nd floor). There is a 3rd floor in this area, but it looks like you would have a smaller dormer style balcony. On the 4th floor, room #4532 is described as having a huge balcony and views of Spaceship Earth above the tree line. These rooms are at the very end of the resort, so you'd have a longer walk for food and SAB pool, but you can't get any closer to Epcot. I'm wondering if maybe you could see any of Illuminations from a room over here. I noticed this wing as we walked along the path and it did appear to be very quiet and nice.

I can't help with how they code their SICO rooms. The floor layout on the website I mentioned does list out some of the rooms that have the King murphy bed.

We've also stayed at both: YC in 2003, 2004 and BC Nov. 2004. We have stayed at all deluxes with the exception of WL and I must say YC is our favorite (even more so than GF).

Our vote also goes to YC over BC. Since the $ involved is essentially the same at both resorts, we will be selecting YC from now on. BC is closer to Epcot, but YC is closer to the boat dock. For some reason we received outstanding rooms at YC both times---lake view, king, very private balcony, second floor, very close to elevator and the elegant wooden stairway. We also felt the service and cleanliness of YC was superior to BC.

We are not listed in the Blue Book of our hometown and I will say that we did not feel the resort has the least bit of a 'stuffy' attitude to it. Just very, very well maintained and operated, elegant and friendly. We just loved walking back into that peaceful and comfy lobby after a long day at the loud and crowded parks.

We have a ressie at the BC for summer of 2006. Sounds like we should do the YC. We can not afford a resort view. So a better view may be obtained at the YC with a full balcony.

Still looking for the AAA &/or AP rates. ;)

How about day beds ? More at the YC ? Our DS teenager will not sleep with our DD tweenager.

I just called WDW. The YC standard rooms are ALL SOLD OUT for end of June beginning of July 2006. WOW :earseek:

So we are at the BC. WDW did place on on reservation non-smoking and day bed required b/c of a DS & DD older children not sleeping together. I also asked for a full balcony. I'll take a view of some trees and a parkway over a roof and garbage cans. :rotfl:

I'll hope for the best when we go in 2006. May some magic :wizard: will be sprinkled upon us with our Standard room.
