Beach Club Vs Wilderness Lodge

If you want to see some really good photos of both of these check out Tagrel's website

http://www.***********/

BCV is nearer to Epcot and MGM if you like a walk but apparently not too good for Epcot first thing in the morning as world showcase is not open until a bit later and the transport is not that easy to get round to (i have heard)

Let us know what you decide.

VWL is more convenient for MK and I guess, with a 5yr old, you may be spending a fair amount of time there! ;)

When you're not at the parks, the pool at BCV is fabulous for adventurous water babies, but VWL has a good main pool as well as a quiet pool for the villas which may suit your DS more if he's not a confident swimmer or splasher.

VWL has some lovely wooded areas for exploring the pathway to Fort Wilderness, and you can rent water craft or sit on the beach. BCV has the livelier Boardwalk facilities right on the doorstep with Surrey bikes to rent.

Not an easy choice, but I'm sure you'll have a fab time at either of them :teeth:

I am staying at both sites in January because they both have advantages. I think that I would vote for Wilderness Lodge for you because of the proximity of MK - just a boat ride away.

When we last stayed at Beach Club you could still enter Epcot through the International Gateway despite World Showcase being closed, just had to walk straight through. Beach Club is good for Epcot and a boat ride from the studios and as has been said has an amazing pool (I am hoping to use it despite it being January).

I stayed at BC and WL in one trip one year - a week at each - not at the villas but the hotel, but still, same facilities. My eldest was 5 or 6 then and he loved WL - it's the only resort he remembers.

The WL pool is nice for young kids and there is also the paddling pool. Whilst Stormalong Bay is great, it is so huge that it is hard to keep an eye on young kids.

They used to have a character breakfast at WL, which was good. The character breakfast at the BC is great if you eat at a late time both for character interaction and food quality.

The boat trip to the MK is excellent for little ones - this is the park where you will spend most time at at that age.

The cycle paths at WL are great for taking young kids on.

We are renting for a week in January and have a 5 year old son. Which do you suggest?

We love WVL and are looking to book again for Jan. but there is no availability for a one bedroom between 1st and 10th jan. We also own at BCV and enjoy that as well for its closeness to Epcot - tough call but would have to be VWL .... again ;)

We stay at BCV and find this superb for children. Stormalong Bay is, of course, a huge attraction and very child friendly for those rest days as is the quiet pool. It is within walking distance of Boardwalk and Epcot - it is not that far to walk through Epcot in the ealry monring to get Disney transport (monorail) to MK or TTC. Don't forget to ask the CM to ride "up front" with the driver. We lvoe Boardwalk in the evenings - plenty to keep the little 'uns amused.

I woudl highly recommend BCV

I haven't personally stayed at VWL but thought although beautifully done, it was dark. We loved BCV - close to Epcot and Boardwalk - but also lovely and light and airy.

I think either would be fine as they both have pros and cons.

Why not try a while at each?
