Which would you pick and why?

What info can you give me about them?

We are in the very very very early planning stages of a early Dec trip for '08 or '09, but my OCD is already kicking in. These are the top two picks for myself and DBF due to their proximity to Epcot's International Gateway. This is pretty much going to be my dream trip, but I honestly can't choose between the two!

We are thinking about staying concierge as well.

Have you considered a split stay? We'll be staying at both resorts this week, not because I couldn't choose, but because I couldn't get a block of more than 4 days at either one using the AP discount. So I got 3 nights BC, 3 nights BWI.

Beach Club is great because of the pool complex (Storm Along Bay) and the breathtaking lobby and gardens. The rooms are a little shabby, IMO.

Boardwalk Inn is great for its proximity to restaurants, carnival booths, surrey rentals, entertainment - it's really a bustling place. The pool is nice but not quite as fantastic as BC.

If you can only choose one, I would vote for Boardwalk.

I'm doing a split stay between BCV & BWV on rented points in May 2008. I couldn't decide either :)

Hmmm...That's a tough one. I have stayed at the villas of both resorts. I preferred the Boardwalk, it just felt like you were right on top of the action. But the Beach Club does have the better pool. So I think it is pretty much a toss up. You can't go wrong!

I prefer Beach Club for several reasons. The main one is that BC has CS right there, at the BC Marketplace, that you can access without going outside, uncovered (important if it's raining). Also, I find more pleasant nooks and crannies to read, rest, whatever at BC. And since I love Epcot, but don't care about MGM, I find BC much closer. BW is centered better between those two parks if you like both equally. Lastly, I'm just someone who loves the "beachy" theme and being able to squish my toes in the sand at SAB.

BWV get's my vote. Boardwalk views are the best in Disney.

:rotfl:

I still have no idea, though I thank those who have taken the time to respond. Maybe I should put some more info out there for everyone... it might help!

Neither myself nor my boyfriend are huge on pools. I love to swim, but I hate the bathing suit part :lmao: . In the nearly 6 years I have dated DBF, I do not believe I have ever seen him in a bathing suit, much less shorts.

We are going before Christmas and thus decorations are a huge plus!

DBF has not been to Disney since he was 5... so that will be 21 or 22 years since then by the time we go. He is not a big amusement park type of guy (though I explain time and time again that Disney is MORE then an amusement park) and doesn't like rides (hates the sensation of not having control over what happens). However, he loves other cultures, food, and entertainment which is why I want to be right there by Epcot.

Customer service is also a huge plus for me. If I am going to spend the money on concierge then I want to be treated appropriately.

It's just the two of us, no kids, so no worries on that front (though I am such a kid at heart, esp at Disney).

Thanks again!

We have stayed at both resorts and while both are quite lovely, I would have to vote for the BWI. You almost always get a great view from this resort. The Castmembers are wonderful. They definately go out of their way to be helpful. ;) There is nightly entertainment right on the Boardwalk. The boardwalk has a variety of places to eat. Just keep reading the wonderful posts from everyone and hopefully it will ease your decision. Best of luck

It sounds like you will be 2 adults, no children, in which case I would suggest either the BWI or the YC. Both of those are a bit quieter than the BC. We stayed concierge at the BC this past January, and it's definitely more child-centered. The food offerings are designed to appeal to young children, and the lounge is smaller and much less loungey than the BWI concierge lounge.

Cheers!

For two adults ,who don't wan to use the pool anyway, the BWI wins hands down in my opinion. Especially if you're staying CL, I've stayed CL at the BWI and it was wonderful, I liked it so much I didn't want to leave the resort to go to the parks:lmao: . On the other hand I've never actually stayed at the BC(I've stayed at the YC) , but I can't recall reading many good reviews of their CL. The BWI is also very romantic in my opinion, while the BC is more family oriented.

I have stayed at both and I still prefer BC over BW. I love the pool and the nautical theme. I find BC more relaxing since it is away from the hustle and bustle. I love the fact that it is close to Epcot along with MCM and the bus rides seem short to most parks.

BWV get's my vote. Boardwalk views are the best in Disney.
Yep, what she said!! BWI will get it done in a big way. Lots of good restaurants, terrific views, JellyRolls right there, easy walk to either Epcot or MGM, fun entertainment at night. I love BW, it's my very favorite resort at WDW.
I like BC but it can get bogged down in kids at times.

WE're staying at the Beach, think it looks more luxurious and obviously Stormalong Bay is excellent!

You can still enjoy what Boardwalk has to offer.

I would pick the BWI, especially if you are going to do concierge. The BWI always gets high marks for their concierge service. The CM's are wonderful. There are fewer rooms at the BWI too. It is my favorite resort and I have tried them all. If you are not going to go the pool ( I am with you on the bathing suit comment, I do not like putting one on either) then the BWI would win hands down.

Here is one more little thing to consider - at BC, many of the rooms have a tiny balcony that do not even have room for chairs. I love my morning coffee or evening beverage out on my balcony, so I know I would be bummed if I got one of those standing room only balconies. Would that matter to you? There are also plenty of larger balconies at BC, so it is kind of luck of the draw to see what kind you will get.

Over the years we have stayed at YC, BWI, BWV, and BCV, and the Boardwalk is still our favorite.

Absoultely request a full balcony if you choose Beach Club and go for the water view. I personally prefer Yacht Club over Beach, but that resort area is my favorite place to stay onsite (although AKL is my all time fave!).

BWI is the only deluxe resort we've not stayed at yet - we just find ourselves repeating others, but the reviews here make it sound like we've missed out! Can't wait to try it.

Here's the thing - you won't go wrong with BWI or BC it sounds like!

Enjoy!

We've stayed at both and for two adults BWI gets my vote, especially if you are not "pool people". We stayed there last year and are going again in Sept. Their concierge staff are the best on property! Concierge rooms have either a garden view or boardwalk view. So if you prefer one over the other, put the request in your ressie. Most of our dining ressies were at Epcot, and it's just a short walk away. There are street performers out on the boardwalk each night Jellyrolls is right there too. You won't be disappointed. Have a great trip! :)

BWI, especially if you do decide on concierge. We really didn't like the BC and checked out early.

Concierge rooms have either a garden view or boardwalk view.

How loud is the boardwalk view? I guess this is my biggest concern as I would LOVE to have this view but also would want to be sure to get enough sleep.

I am starting to side with the Boardwalk since we are not really pool people, and that seems to be one of the biggest draws of BC/YC.

Don't let noise from the BW be a concern. I don't remember it being particularly loud, but I get so tired from being in the parks all day that I could have probably slept in the middle of the boardwalk itself! :rotfl2:
I'm going to agree with everyone else. If you and DBF aren't big pool people, the BWI is definitely the way to go. The ambience is incredible- you'll enjoy strolling around, watching the street performers. DBF & I leave in 4 days- wish we were staying there instead of Pop! ;)
