has anyone ever stayed in one of the Villas? How are they space wise? WE are considering staying at the Beach Club villa (if it's available) when we go next year and I would like opinions. We stayed at the Beach Club Resort last year and loved it. We are taking my mom with us so we thought the villa would be better than getting 2 rooms.

Also, and most imporatnt (LOL) when discount codes come out are they good for the villas or on the hotels only?

Thanks

If you liked the Beach Club I think you will love the Villas. Tons more room, more peaceful for us too.

I don't know how often BCV has discounts as we've only stayed there on points.

I agree a villa would be nicer than 2 rooms at BC. You'll have a full kitchen, whirlpool and washer/dryer if you get a 1 or 2 BR.

There are forums about DVC and also for renting points on the DIS. Good luck!

A 2 BR villa will be about teh space of three rooms at the BC. A 2BR villa will be about the size of 2 rooms, but feels much roomier.

The added bonus is the kitchen and washer/dryer...and of course the jacuzzi tub in the master bath :)

Despite having more room, I think that the studio and one bedroom villas only sleep four, where the BC rooms sleep five. Seemed strange to me, but I checked a few times. If you have four people, that's no problem - but you mentioned getting two rooms so I tohught there may be more than four on this trip.

We stayed in the 1 bdrm last year at the BCV and loved it. It was a good size, however, depending on how many people you have, two regular BC rooms or a 2 bedroom at the BCV might allow for better sleeping arrangements. The discounts do work for the BCV, although they are still somewhat pricey (but you get more room/a kitchen, etc.). We did a fall fantasy package with DC discount last year, but then at the last minute, we rented points from a DVC member. It ended up being cheaper. You can look on the DVC rent/trade board for that info if you would like to try that. This year we contemplated staying at the BCV with the Fairy Tale Package. We opted for the BWV, but the discount was the same. Good luck!!

Thanks. There will be 3 adults (me, dh and my mom) and my ds will be 6 and dd will be 18 months. I thought I read it can sleep 4 and we could still have a crib for the baby.

That's rigfht - you can sleep four plus a crib in the villas.

There is a pack-n-play in every villa so you won't need to pay for the crib if you don't want. The villas are wonderful and, honestly, since we have joined DVC, I have a hard time going back to a regular hotel room! I will also add that at the villas, if you book through Disney, you will get daily mousekeeping. If you rent from a DVC member, you will only get trash/towel service on the 4th day and a full cleaning on the 8th day (then the cycle starts over again). Daily mousekeeping is important to some, so I thought I would mention it.

I have yet to stay at BCV, my first stay there is in Sept, but I am a DVC member at BWV have stayed there tons of times and BWV and BCV are almost identical in size and layout with the exception that BCV has a nicer dining seating area--it seats more, I have also stayed at YC/BC numerous times and IMHO, for your group a 1 br will be much nicer than 2 rooms at BC. True you will have 1king bed and a sleeper sofa vs 4 queen beds but that is still doable considering how young your kids are. You and DH can take the master bedroom w/king bed which will give you plenty of room to put the pack & play for the baby, you DS can either sleep with you, sleep on the floor on an aero bed or sleep with Grandma. The added bonus of having a lr, full kitchen, w&d, jacuzzi tub, a dining area and the extra space will be worth way more to you, especailly with little kids, than the extra beds would be. If you really want everyone to have their own space go with a 2 BR at BCV, then Grandma could have her own room and DS could have his own bed, if you get a dedicated 2 BR. They are pretty expensive but renting DVC pts may make it more reasonable. Good Luck!

If you rent from a DVC member, you will only get trash/towel service on the 4th day and a full cleaning on the 8th day (then the cycle starts over again).

Actually, if you stay at least 9 nights, you get a full cleaning on day 4 and trash and towels on day 8. If you stay less than 8 days, you get trash and towels on day 4.

Most DVC members like not having housekeeping bothering them. We just make the bed, load the dishwasher and run some clothes through the washer every so often.
