We are staying at the BCV in December and am wondering which view to request. Pros and cons of each. Thanks!!!!

Not much on views - pool view, road view or garden view. We like the pool view.

Can you see the fireworks from any of those views? I have reservation for 9/2 - 9/9 at the Beach Club (normally would stay at BWV) and am nervous about it. At BWV, I usually get a view where I can see both the MGM & Epcot fireworks from the balcony (Preferred View facing the Villiage Green). My family really loves the BWV, but I think it's time we start branching out! :teeth:

We always request "pool view". We were just there April 1-8th and had a 2 bedroom on the top floor with a great pool view. Great spot to watch the Downtown Disney fireworks every night at 10:00 pm. Have Fun!

DTD Fireworks at 10PM?????? They don't have any DTD fireworks anymore. And they were at 12 midnight when they did have them.

I don't think you could see fireworks at DTD from BCV. You could barely see them at SSR.

The road view at BCV sometimes gets you some Illuminations fireworks, but with The Soarin' Building in the way, it's not so good anymore.

We just like the way they light up the resort at night and with the pool, it's rather pretty.

The best locations for fireworks views are the "woods views". The best rooms would be: 1BR-220, 320, 420, 229, 329, 429 and 529. 2BR-224, 324, 424, 233, 333, 433, 533. Studios-222, 227, 231, 322, 327, 331, 422, 427, 431,
527, 531. The higher the better, but keep in mind the 4th floor has the smoking rooms.
I prefer the woods or the pool/canal views, the road view is kind of boring unless you like to watch cars and trucks go by, I didn't find it as noisy as some think it is. I've never had a courtyard view and don't think I'd like it anyway, but if your a people watcher it might be for you.
Another thing to consider is if you'll have a car you might want to be at the east end of the resort as it's the closest to self parking. While the west end is closest to the BC lobby, SAB, and the bus stops.

We recently returned from unit 375. Ii overlooked the road and canal. We had a view of the Spaceship Earth on the right and each night watched the Wishes (high ones) fireworks on our left. Overall, it one one of the quietest rooms we have ever had. Since we are never in the room during the day, we really enjoyed the evening view!

We had a 3rd floor woods view (sorry, can't remember the room number) that was perfectly placed for the Illuminations fireworks. We could see pretty much the whole thing without obstruction.

Click here to see a layout of the BCV. A fellow DISer created this site. If you scoll down the page to "room view" and click on room 433 you'll see the view from our balcony during the daytime and a view of the Illuminations fireworks that we had at night. This was a dedicated 2br unit, woods view. Although it was on the 4th floor, it WAS NOT one of the smoking rooms.

Have a great trip!

We've had water view and what I thought was always concidered Epcot view but I guess it's really somewhat of a woods view. I think we were in room 325, which is a handicap room. The view of the fireworks was great. We really don't care what view we generally have because we like them both as long as we aren't near the access road. We think being there might take a little of the magic away.

DW and I put in our request for pool view, or Epcot view, but when it comes down to being at Disney, we enjoy whatever view comes our way. We make the most of it, and enjoy being at Disney. BCV.

Deb & Bill,

We definitley saw fireworks EVERY night at 10pm from BCV! And they were quite impressive! It definitley was NOT Illuminations. We had a pool view - rooms 406/408 - top floor - located right above the jacuzzi. I just figured they were the DTD or Pleasure Island fireworks because they were coming from that area. Anyone have any idea where these fireworks were coming from? They were amazing!! Hope someone can help!!!

Thanks,
HeatherAnne :) :)

Could it have been Fantasmic or MK fireworks? Some folks say they can see the MK fireworks from the preferred views of BWV.

We had a BCV pool view room (on the same side as the spa) and had a distant view of the MK fireworks.

Hello all. We'll be taking our first trip home to BCV in late June. I don't remember specifying a view when I made the reservation, should I call and try to ask for one now, or wait until check-in???

It never hurts to make the request. I'd give MS a call. You can get a really good idea of room requests by looking at the link to the BCV map previously posted in post #9.

Have a great trip!

This is correct. From the boardwalk view villas you can see the fireworks from both Wishes and Illuminations. The Illumination fireworks are naturally much closer and the music is very clear, but you still get a nice view of the MK fireworks from these villas. The boardwalk view villas over the shops and BRG have the best MK fireworks view.

I think the original question was about Beach Club Villas, not Boardwalk Villas, though. Just don't want people to request the villas over the shops at BCV.

You are right Deb. Sorry did not mean to misdirect the OP. Was just responding to the ? of whether you can see both Wishes and Illuminations from a boardwalk view villa.
Regarding the OP, we prefer the woods or pool view when staying at BCV. The Epcot view advantage is (IMO) greatly reduced by the fact that these villas also face a very busy road that is very close to the villa balconies. Illumination fireworks run for 15-20 minutes per night vs the road view 24/7. We always try to get anything but Epcot view when we stay at BCV.
I agree with you, since Soaring was built the view of Illuninations has really decreased.
